Does anyone have the idea of how long it takes for unstoppable to complete block sync or is it download ( not sure the right word to use there ) for BTC .. It takes a lot of time to achieve 1%, too slow but the weird part is that I imported another wallet and the same sync was completed within a very short period of time .
This made me wonder if it’s an internal connection issue.. i haven’t taken my time to do any search though, I just felt like posting it here, maybe it’s an easy fix.

It usually syncs very fast, except when you install fresh Unstoppable wallet, than it takes a bit longer. I think there is option to change servers in settings, so you can try doing that, and make sure to use latest wallet version.

Mine is taking more time.. I actually had the issue months back, I needed to make urgent swap but it was stuck at 500k+ remaining blocks then, so I just imported it on my blue wallet and use another method . It’s been 4 month now and I haven’t been using the second wallet either I opened both once again and the result is same as before. Checked the “settings > blockchain settings ”, there’s only 3 options for syncing wallets and I chooses ‘Bitcoin blockchain ‘ on both wallet. So I’m still not sure why one is slow and the other is super fast. The ‘fast sync’ wallet was the first wallet I created on Unstoppable while the slow was the second.. could that be it?

So I’m still not sure why one is slow and the other is super fast. If you choose the API, it just sends all your addresses there to check the balance. That's fast. If you choose the Bitcoin Blockchain, it needs to download much more data. It's the cost of privacy

It's the cost of privacy Yeah, I get that aspect.. BUT , the two wallet I mentioned were both set to use the Bitcoin Blockchain so I’m still confused why one is slow and the other is fast . I know it could get corrected if I uninstall and reinstall but then I won’t get to know what’s really happening. Hence, I’ve been using it for some months, before it eventually became slow.

My Blue wallet is always connected manually but I can’t fully remember when I started doing that.. it still doesn’t mater because I already sent some to a C.exchange and there’s nothing so private about the wallet . Tested.. and it completed in about a second , reversed and it became slow again so could it be a speific peer issue ( I mean the wallet is always connecting to the same slow peer ) ? Of course you didn’t create ‘unstoppable’ .. don’t mind my questions, I read that here

I don't remember if it downloaded "part of the blockchain" or block headers to verify transactions. In the case of Unstoppable, what exactly does it download? Part of the blocks (as if it were pruned), headers, etc? Is that why some are reporting it taking so long?

It's been a long time since I used Schildbatch Wallet. Most of the time it was relatively quick to sync the wallet (a matter of minutes or a few hours). It's fast if you let it sync regularly. Restoring a backup after years is an entirely different story I don't remember if it downloaded "part of the blockchain" or block headers to verify transactions. In the case of Unstoppable, what exactly does it download? Part of the blocks (as if it were pruned), headers, etc? Is that why some are reporting it taking so long? Let's test it: I'll restore the wallet I removed a year ago. I've selected all 4 Bitcoin address formats. It's weird (and sneaky): it doesn't let me select "Blockchain" after I enter my seed phrase, it uses "Blockchair API" by default. So before I can change any settings, it has already shared my addresses with the API. So far for privacy, once it's shared, it's too late as my privacy is compromised already. But after I changed it to "Blockchain", it started "syncing" from scratch. Currently: Blocks Remaining - 641045 UpdatesMy phone (a high-end phone from 5 years ago) felt warm for hours. I now have 4 different "BTC" thingies downloading: BIP86, BIP49, BIP86 and BIP44. The first one is 180,000 blocks ahead of the others, but the others aren't completely in sync either. There's up to 1000 blocks difference. Apparantely all address types have their own separate download. After 3 hours, 15 minutes, BIP86 finished. After about 6 hours, BIP86 finished. My phone is less warm already, and the sync seems to be slowing down. After about 7 hours, BIP49 finished. About 20 minutes later, BIP44 finished. Unstoppable wallet downloaded 20.83 GB in total.

Based on your report, we've concluded that the wallet selects, by default (without prior choice), the API of a third-party block explorer that has everything setted, but in doing so, it compromises user privacy by revealing addresses (I hope it's not XPUB, otherwise it's even worse). This needs to be fixed and suggested to the devs. Unless the API only has access to a portion of the addresses and not the entire one (xpub), it doesn't make sense to change it to download/sync 20GB of blockchain from scratch. Don't you think so, or am I missing something?

Don't you think so, or am I missing something? I assume it won't need to download that much if you create a new wallet, but I haven't tested that today (and forgot what it did the first time).

7 hours .. that explains why it stays for so long on just 0% .. it sucks I made you compromise your privacy or was it Forsyth Jones ? Sorry about that anyways. I don’t have that kind of patience with my phone.. and I don’t think it runs in background , I would have just minimize and continue using my mobile device. ... I made you compromise your privacy Don't worry about it, I've never funded the BTC wallet in Unstoppable so it's not a problem to link the addresses together on an API. But it could have been, that's why I posted the warning.

Doesn't Unstoppable wallet already have integrated Tor inside their wallet that is hiding your real IP's? That means your bitcoin addresses probably won't have the same IP address connections, unless you generate them all at the same time. Other wallets also have something similar, and I really like this feature.

That means your bitcoin addresses probably won't have the same IP address connections, unless you generate them all at the same time. Other wallets also have something similar, and I really like this feature.
The question remains: does the unstoppable wallet allow we to manually set up Tor BEFORE even creating the wallet when connecting to the blockchain via a third-party API? I just tested it, it won't allow it In their FAQ: Are Unstoppable users anonymous?Depending on various geographical and political factors, some people might consider more extensive privacy measures like hiding any crypto related activity. Those users may require that their activity remains private even from their ISPs.
ISPs can potentially keep track of users' browsing activities, sites visited, etc. and have means to match that data with real world identities of customers. Depending on sites visited, users may unintentionally expose some data about themselves including addresses owned and token balances.
Wallets like Unstoppable provide ways to route internet traffic on the app level via encrypted proxy channels (using VPN, TOR) making it impossible for an ISP and similar bodies to know the context of users' internet activity when using the Unstoppable wallet app. In the end, I didn't understand if these privacy measures (like tor) are applied by default, their text wasn't very clear at least for me.

My phone feels like a black box, I have no idea what's going on in there. So to be safe, with all software that runs on a phone, I assume I don't have much privacy.

Unstoppable wallet for Androidwas elevated to 0.49.2. From the comparison with 0.49.0 one can conclude that this seems to be the patch update featuring mostly a backend-driven rework of the swap engine which moved USwap to API v2 rather than new user-facing features, plus small bug fixes relevant to Zano and Tron.

The latest App version is 0.49.3, and it was released on July 24. There were a total of 9 main highlights in the 0.49 update that the unstoppable wallet published. Apart from the addition of swap providers, I don't see any significant update. Additional support for Zcash is good one though. Sometimes they're stuck on syncing. Passkey, anyone used it?
