What makes you into crypto at the moment?

Of course, to make money. I saw the potential of crypto, which could provide a way to earn, be it from investing or trading, and this is what got me in crypto until now. The potential to make money from crypto also depends on how hard we try and what we do to make money. But all of that is not easy because we have to experience all kinds of things that exist in crypto, and only people who are really able to survive will make a lot of money or profits from crypto. And the potential to make a lot of money has many people joining with crypto.

It is not the moment thatnakes me into crypto at the moment but because of different opportunities you can grab in crypto. As of now, I didn't have the courage to do it myself to risk my crypto in soke platform either to trade, stake and more where the profit are much bigger compared to what I know today which I only earn less than $100 dollars though that amount is already good enough in my country so I am okay or fine with it at the moment. I am very very lucky before where I am trading at that time and earn a profit of $10000+ with a capital around $200.

It was not epidemic, it was Pandemic!

AN EPIDEMIC is a disease that affects a large number of people within a community, population, or region. A PANDEMIC is an epidemic that's spread over multiple countries or continents.

Coming to the peeps joining crypto, I don't think they came in because of the pandemic. The surge was very normal during the covid days and nothing really moved, not even the global supply chain. All we saw was movement of few companies buying the crypto assets in bulk because it was completely discounted days and there was high chance we would miss the train. However situation was different for the middle man, they were afraid and losing hopes to live a good life when we were fighting the pandemic.

I barely doubt, that many of them were engaged into crypto to make money. We were fighting! We were scared.

Hmm i think it is a pretty bad decision to invest money into crypto because you have lost your job. I mean obviously in the crypto market is definitely possible to make a very big profit and for some of the investors it even are life changing profits, but it is also true, that the chances for such a profit are pretty slim and that the chances of a total loss of your investment are definitely higher than a x100 on your investment. So to put all your money on crypto is a very very risky decision in my opinion and definitely not to recommend. The first and most important reason for an investment into cryptos is and always will be. Only invest money, that you can afford to lose.

Not really complex, only wanted to earn money because I really needed money at that time. I got crypto information from my friend and then learned about this. But in fact, that was not as easy as I saw my friend. Of course, he was since 2015 getting into crypto and he has gained much money from it. But I did it in 2017 and I was too late. However, with hard effort, I finally could be getting on it and was really able to earn money from crypto. Moreover, crypto becomes my main activity in earning money right now.

they will soon understand that getting into this market has no assurance of getting big profits. as you said, more on the side of losing your funds. staking in DeFi is only good if the project itself is a quality project where its price is increasing not decreasing by time.
as the saying goes, invest only what you can afford to lose. because in this volatile market, you have no guarantee if you will ever get back your money or get some profits. the price of the coin you invested with can suddenly decline fast just like the LUNA case. who knows what's next?

I’ve been into crypto for a long time because I believe it is the future of investing & finance. Young people are investing in crypto far more than older, more traditional financial markets. It’s easily accessible, more fun & more interesting than stocks & precious metals. The ceiling is far higher & potential for massive profits much more likely in crypto. I’ve done really well over the years so I have no intention of changing the way I invest my money.

From the moment I read about bitcoin I have been into it and now many years later nothing has really changed, thousands of coins come and go each bull market but the one constant is bitcoin, it is true you can obtain way more profits by investing in altcoins and you happened to be invested in one of those coins when there is a massive pump, but I see this as just a matter of luck and not skill, and since I am terribly unlucky I prefer to not waste my time investing in those new coins.

Lets not be a hypocrite. That is the reason why we are investing right? We are investing because we want to grow our money instead of our money being idle in the banks and it's value is being eaten of inflation. We are investing into crypto because we know that it's more volatile and more volatile equals more profit, but at the same time more losses.

There are some investors here that the main reason why they invested is because they don't want their money to be eaten by inflation and that's good. That's also the reason why I invested. I don't want my money to decrease it's value. Even though I still have some money in banks, that's my emergency funds.

I have been here since the start of the ICO season when everyone is earning thousands of dollars just by doing easy things with crypto, Airdrops, and bounties. Still, as years have passed, everything has changed and there are lots of things that are new today but I still do something that I was usually doing in the crypto industry and that is trading and holding bitcoins. That was then. I was initially into crypto right before the pandemic, so regardless of whether it actually happened or not, I would've probably stayed all the same. I'm still into crypto even after that dump since, well, I know what crypto is now and what Bitcoin could be (or is already). Many people come to crypto because of the temptation to make big profits in various ways related to crypto. And that's what made them start investing in lots of crypto projects. Even though they often invest in the wrong projects, that doesn't stop them from looking for them. But most start investing when crypto is gaining popularity and the price is also high. And that also includes me wanting to make a profit just like everyone else and that's normal.

Ops I think this thread fit best into beginner and help section of the forum since this discussion borders on the motivations behind crypto adoption at the individual level.

That being said I will like to point you to some facts that you need to know, cryptocurrency should not bee seen as a get rich quick scheme.

There is need for knowledge to be able to survive in the cryptocurrency industry, because most of the projects in the industry are 100% scam and a newbie need adequate know to make their own research as to choose the right coin to hold.

As for me I am a Bitcoin lover and I don't believe in altcoin, the is a lot of scam out there newbies need knowledge, but just running this thread I discovered that you mention Bitcoin that is why I dropped this contribution.
