It's an interesting CPU coin from Japan created by unknown developer.
What is really needed here is a pool because solo mining is not very effective at the moment.
Watching.

I'd disagree. I've hit 70+ blocks in the past 14 hours on my 8350

So how it's a "CPU-only" coin if you mine it with a GPU?

Don't you know SHA1 has collisions problem, that why we don't use it anymore. right now, we use SHA2, SHA3.

If you don't know about crypto, don't create the coin please.

Well those collisions are just theoretical . And if you consider them as a problem . the SHA-256 to have problems .

Since I am mining on a laptop I don't have much to give . If community is ready to donate then we can keep a bounty. Roll Eyes

May be we need a bounty for pool then somebody would interested to make a pool.
No!
One of the advantages of this coin is, that you can mine it solo: one i7 core mined 10 blocks over the last 16 hours, so every modern PC should get a few blocks every hour - and even a very weak PC should get one block per day (or week, if it is really crappy Smiley).

IMHO this coin should be promoted as an 'easy-to-mine-for-everyone' coin (no need bothering with pools and other things), and therefore it is ideal for beginners in the coinmining world.

But as new miners join diff will rise and it will be almost impossible to solo mine this .

But over the last few weeks (once I started monitoring this coin), there are very few miners who joined.

Rather very few miners mined most of the coins - have a look at the block chain.

seems sha1coin block-explorer work wrong.

Where is the problem?
wrong show balance
I have seen many strange things with blockexplorers (ie. PROBE coin and many others), but accurate with this coin the blockexplorer is 100% in line with my "expectations" (wallets).

Yeah.that is because no one care for it and only those mine who think it will ever make it to an exchnage or so.

Hello, I discover this coin and I want test mining but I have a problem and some confusion.

What is the parameter "trip" in config file ?

Do I use the switch -f of minerd ?

I see this in my terminal but no coin comes in my wallet, is it normal ?

Code:
./minerd -u sha1 -p x -o 127.0.0.1:1234 -a sha1coin
[2014-04-19 18:16:25] 4 miner threads started, using 'sha1coin' algorithm.

How exactly is this a cpu only coin?

There have been sha1 capable asics since before there was even the Satoshi whitepaper.  An fpga miner for this coin would likely be trivial to produce from existing open source cores.

Using SHA1 for PoW is probably not viable, for a lot of reasons.
