Even if the deadline elapses, the constitution of Nigeria according to reports I heard over the news, is that anyone still in possession of the old notes as at the expiry date would only be faced with the impossibility of spending the cash for local, primary or secondary purchases/expenses, but they can still go the banks and exchange such notes or pay into their account.
The new notes as at today is beginning to be more in circulation and with hopes of being sufficient before the weekend comes.
I just feel this deadline date won't really remove the old naira notes, they should just allow the two co-exist untill the old note vanishes, the same way they did with the old 20naira, 30naira, 50naira and 200naiara. If the pattern or method is adopted then there won't be any scarcity of naira notes, because the two will be in use and once a bank gets the old note they don't release it again, with that give it 5months and you won't see the old currencies again.
