And for all the twist in emotion and fate all in the space of just a minute makes it even more surreal. Modric is never a guy that you'll find in those space chasing a lose ball, but I guess he was pretty much determined to make up that lost opportunity and he wouldn't be denied!

I was already thinking of how cursed a team Croatia would be in these tournament, missing two penalties already and if they'd failed to find the back of the net tonight, that surely would have been the end of the road for them, and probably the only dent that you'll find on Modric's career, that's even if that should be consider a dent, because I think the penalty was pretty good, the save was just better.

I don't know if this is now the better end for Modric. Sure he scored the penalty, but I really believe that missing it and then going home would have been less painful. This is brutal. But what a group stage game that was. This felt like a semifinal at least.

Croatia must have known that in order to qualify from this round, a win against Albania was a must to have been on the safest side, having lost the first game and they were to play a team that is probably stronger on paper, who had also lost their first game, it was going to be a tough. To be honest, aside not being able to create the best of chances they were more in control of the game maybe the draw was the fairest of results.

Sorry Cro2 for your team elimination, it hurts to get eliminated in such way with such late goal. But when you don't beat Albania, lose to Spain 3:0 and everything is left at stake in game with Italy, it's difficult to think about reaching next round.

I almost regret sending my answers too early after seeing Brazil finish with a draw against Costa Rica then felt relieved after finding out the question was for the second round.

That was why waited initially too, but each of the team in the last 4 are pretty good team when it comes to cricket right ? So any one of the could still make the finals, I really would have just messed it up by going for teams that playing each other if I had submitted prior to finding it out.

Man the hardest question for me was the very first one. I didn't wait for cricket but the expected happened so I didn't need VAR, but thanks to Brazil now I need to use VAR I think, so now that leaves me unsafe for the final round if I need it.

I bet the evil twins laugh whenever someone finished off their VARS!

This was heartbreaking from Croatia - but I guess we're simply not 'dirty' enough to win these types of games.
You need to fake injuries, delay, steal time in corners etc.

I still cannot understand why Perišić, one of the more experienced ones, is giving away possession without any pressure in the 97th minute of the game. This must never happen.

I feel horrible about my submissions this time around, slightly blind on some of the selections but can't do proper research so am going with what's right in front of me in most cases. Really not the ideal scenario with this being my last round (I see I've played casper already). So if I lose it, then I'll rely on results to stay in Div1.

Same, I was close to giving away a free point. I remember England and India are good while the other two are like the underdogs based on their odds and the teams they've beaten.

I assume whoever wins between their match is the team to beat, while South Africa or Afghanistan will be the expected underdogs in the final.

I did say that I placed a bet on over 2.5 goals in the Netherlands - Austria game. But no need to congratulate me. Smart as I am, I thought I'd give those odds a little boost by combining it with a win of France over Poland. Can't believe they messed it up against a team that was already sent home so to say. France is weird.


@notblox1 hedging was easy for me this week as we have only two different answers. One was that you picked England and Denmark as winners and that Leclerc will reach the podium on the weekend. I combined those three outcomes. Gave me odds of 6.5 or so. But now it is all about Leclerc whether we will draw this round or not. Nothing to look at for us until Sunday (or maybe Formula 1 qualifiers as well). Pretty boring BSFL week ahead now. But anyway, good luck!

Questions sent on time but I already dont like what I see.
Me and mv1986 have most of the same answers but he scored a early first point with two most boring matches in entire EURO 2024 by Denmark and England.
My only hope is for Carles Leclerc to finish in top 3 this weekend in F1 Austrian Grand Prix.
