That was just the exact kind of start I needed to kickoff the cup round, Semenyo already looks rather good for Man City  but how sustainable would be his starting spot for long term.

I feel confident about the next question as well, I don't think if Freiburg manages to no lose to Leipzig the game would go over 3.5 goals, so maybe this could get really good for me early enough.

Yeah, not the start I hoped it to be. I just couldn't trust Man City away so I went with a "No". Now for the second question, I went with "not to lose" option as I like it more than the other option. But even if I start with two points down, all of our answers are different so there is still a chance for me to make a comeback. If I lose, I will just blame it on Trofo and cryptofrka for pairing me (a Division 3 team) with the second team in Division 1.

@notblox1 I remember how important it is in the cup to take the lead and this time it worked out for me. The two following questions with the same answers make it tough for you to come back from this, but I figured there is one disadvantage for me.

To the hedging expert @cryptofrka, @notblox1 has Milan as the winner, easy pick for a combo hedge: Milan + ? The fifth question is tricky to hedge. If you had to, how would you go about it? I thought about going with France -8.5 win (odds around 1.85). If they beat that handicap, chances are they might win with a higher handicap than Norway, but Norway still has the best chances to end with a higher gap. Does that make sense?

Not the start I hoped for but City was very good yesterday and deserved the win.
Now I depend on Norway - if they will be the most dominant team I'll reach the penalty shootout.

I'm was pretty solid with my choice of Man City, although to be fair, Newcastle did ask some really threatening question towards the end of the game before Man City were able to put it to bed, it could have ended 1-1 if Newcastle were lucky enough. I have France over Norway and Iceland, my opponent went with Iceland so, I might not mind if it's Norway with win.

This Leipzig vs Freiburg game isn't going my way. The second half already started a s the game js still goalless. I guess I won't get over 3,5 goals so I have to hope that Freiburg can hold the result until the end. That way none of us will get a point.

And just as I was writing this, Leipzig scored. Maybe Freiburg can wake up and equalize the game against.

I think that it's safe to say that you are 95% in the next round. Yeah, there still is a slight chance that I can get away with a draw and then beat you in penalties, but I won't jold my breath for it. But congrats on these two correct answers!

Typical division 2! One moment you're thinking about promotion and winning the league and minutes later you're fighting relegation after losing 1-2 games.

Nobody will believe I was top of the league few times this season if you don't show them receipts. 

This cup rounds made me lookup what’s happening in the league table for prospects with my opponents and likely opponents and Div 3 is just fire. You can’t afford a draw and worst still a loss. You’ll be thrown back so far you wouldn’t understand what happened. It’s just a point difference between spots on the league table with 2-3 players having same points but are separated by other parameters.

In this cup round, it’s just good thus far with goodpunt but, I’ve lost it on the AFCON finals prediction, 4 more questions to see how I’ll fair.

Good luck to everybody in the cup this week. I see that team buwaytress and team yassinmanal pass straight to round 4 as their opponents in round 3 went AWOL.

Yassin really wanted to understand how it felt to lose to me, so our respective opponents, who didn't want to lose to me, decided to bow out in the most gentlemanly of fashions. I'm a giver, too, so I will graciously defeat my R4 opponent -- even allowing him an early lead in AFCON by picking Egypt (what a joke that team is without Salah's goals).

With Saint-loup having 2-0 lead and only 1 different answer, this season's cup is over for my team. I can't say that I am too disappointed as this will just give my team more time to focus on not getting relegated back to Division 2.

Maybe, sometimes the lines are so close and smallest margins have big effects. I played a terrible league round but just Arsenal not conceding a goal would have been enough for my win and our league leader to drop the points. In the end they conceded in 3rd minute and settled that super fast, that was a 5 point swing against my efforts to catch top spot. Now the motivation is possibly gone

Regarding the cup, it was always a competition where I got out early so not putting too much emphasis on that.
