Well, I was just about to secure my ticket to the cup final if Zalgiris Vilnius had taken things a bit more seriously & scored a goal.

Our side failed to take the lead before halftime with that tricky outcome on the conference league question, but thankfully, Cienciano is clutch in the Copa Sudamericana match.

Oh for sure, this is definitely the surprise of the tournament, I don't think a Brazilian team has ever lost this badly in Copa Sudamericana history.
Personally I think it was a combination of a few things: the elevation that the Brazilians just couldn't handle, the interim manager making a mess of his initial tactics (he realized it and made two substitutions by the 37th minute, but they were already down 4-0 by then) and Cienciano playing the absolute game of their lives. It was just one of those freak nights in football, while there could always be some funny business involved too but that's impossible to prove. That said I wouldn't be surprised if Botafogo manages to score 5 or at least come close in the second leg. If they get 2 or 3 in the first half the tie is wide open again. But yeah nobody expected them to lose like this, maybe a draw due to the altitude, but 6-1 is crazy! Props to everyone who picked Cienciano including my opponent, well done ralle14!

Earlier, when looking at the odds, I was confident that Cienciano could beat Botafogo, even though the club isn't as big as Botafogo, playing at home also gave Cienciano an advantage. However, I still can't believe Cienciano truly demolished Botafogo, they really capitalized on the chances they had. With that 6 - 1, I'm not sure Botafogo can turn things around in the second leg in Brazil.
