I still like the idea that Satoshi published his Whitepaper on the 5th of November (which you must remember, remember).

Huh I thought it was released in October 2008?

I just actually ran across the pdf on my computer this morning and there's no date in the white paper.

I thought the 5th of November was the day one of the ponzi schemes went belly up?  Perhaps I'm confusing my dates...

Happy Satoshi Nakamoto Day!

Happy Satoshi day everyone.   Is there going to be an iron pole and feats of strength?   What tradition will we use to mark the event?   Everyone send a TX to arrive at a block that would contain the exact minute/second?

That would be a great way to test TX load Smiley

No matter where you go, there you are.

Or you can donate a satoshi to the genesis block.

I'm not sure I know the address, but I'm sure someone can look it up and post here.

We need more holidays not near January 1.  I like the day the paper was published.

For now, I'm leaving Dec 12th in my calendar.  I'll try to hold off on the fliers until we come to more of a consensus...

Dec 12th coming up soon... anyone other than me celebrating this as Satoshi Nakamoto Day?

It's possible I missed a memo where we voted or something, haha.

Happy Satoshi Nakamoto Day!

Anyone out there still celebrating?

Did we change the date or have a vote yet?

Cheers!

Happy Satoshi Nakamoto Day!

Satoshi has done his job of proving the concept, but he isnt here anymore to save our investment. I remember someone said that he feels bad for the $1200 BTC buyers and when he finds his private keys he will give some btc to them.

I don't mean to idolize a person but i have to admit introduction of bitcoin is the next big thing equivalent like towards having a computer introduced to our life. I mean it's a clever concept... something we never thought of whereby not a person in our current monetary system can control it. Well if only he reappears again.

Where do you get this bullshit?
Satoshi will not give any btc to people who lost money by speculating. Those are exactly the kind of people, we want to get rid of.

Happy Satoshi Day.

As I was explaining Satoshi Nakamoto Day to someone, I realized, that Satoshi posted something when Dorian was getting harassed by Newsweek, right?

I'm curious if that means we need to recalibrate SND to his latest post?  Thoughts?

I'm ok keeping it Dec 12th, or we can put it back up for a vote.  Options include:

Nov 5th - day the white paper was published?
Dec 12th - last day on forums
whatever day the post said "I'm not Dorian Nakamoto"
others?

Thanks to all the supporters!

Personally believe that the day the white paper was published. Otherwise, the dates could change constantly. Plus, The day of the white paper being released was one of the first movements of Bitcoin involving the public.

I'm ok with that; however, is it Nov 5th, 2008?  I was under the impression the paper was released in October 2008.  So if you can help me nail down the date, we can perhaps rebrand Satoshi Nakamoto Day and figure this out for going forward, haha.

Thanks in advance!
