After our discussion on the spams the board was generating due to the Presidential election, this suggestion was thrown out there but upto this moment I haven't seen an thread on this.

Thankfully the election has come and gone and for next big event in the country we'll just create a thread to discuss things ongoing. For example, for the upcoming Governorship election, someone can create a comprehensive threads that put into account of all the 36 states or key states (states wey their election go hot) for decision. Now all decision will be carried out there and whatever threads that pops up in regards to the governorship election will be reported to be locked.

Now understand say this thread like this no be for politics in general but only for the gubernatorial election wey dey come up very soon. If you get other political discussion carry am commot for this thread so we no go confused ourselves. This thread na self moderated and any discussion wey no concern the governor election I go delete am. Also any topics wey concerned this governorship election wey dey outside this thread, report am to moderator with reference to this thread and them go lock am, that's if the person no gree hear warning to lock the thread.

The fair unexpected results where underdogs won and irregularities that greeted the presidential and National assembly elections have opened the eyes of many politicians. There are reports that they've imported tugs to cause mayhem, which is why the DSS and other security arms advised INEC about the postponement.

This is a mixed development as lives and property are better preserved than any personal or collective engagements on the day it has been shifted to, but this is sad, especially for those that have important programs on that day. It's however double for those that formerly shifted their engagements because of the initial date, they will have to shift it again.

And truly, all eyes should be on the Lagos and Rivers elections in the south. I hope the security architectures would be rightly put in place to forestall rigging and snatching of ballot boxes among others. Many hoodlums are reportedly in the two states now, and the agberos in Lagos are another foreseeable issue.

Only God can help us in this country. The election that has been somewhat fair in the recent past has taken the backseat again. Let's hope that the will of the people prevails this time.

Make I start by telling the truth, I never know why they postpone the governorship election wey suppose hold this coming Saturday, but whatever be their reason, me never still dey happy with the outcome of the presidential election, so I be don talk am, and I still dey talk am say if inec no do the right thing concerning result of the presidential election, I no go vote on governorship election, and I no go ever comot say I dey go vote again .

For my area, people dey speculate say inec don get plans to rig the election again for some governor aspirants, this na why they postpone the election, so that they go get enough time to perfect their plans and strategies.
Whatever be their reason, what matters now be say, Nigerians have lost hope in Inec, and wetin dey pain me pass now be say, it seems nothing is been done to make them realize their misconduct and possibly correct themselves.

See eh na as I think am nai I go take talk am, I believe say e get political party wey dey try want collect power by all means and na that party dey work with inec for their their own favour, and sincerely I dey suspect wike and en political party, Rivers State PDP, because we dey hear romour say SIM FUBARA(rivers State PDP governorship candidate) get case for court for illegal manipulation of government funds, and if the case is not judge in his favour, en no go dey on ballot and PDP fit loose governorship,and Dem suppose dey court today wey be (10th March 2023) so to me I dey feel say na wike dey work with inec go postpone the election so that e go favour PDP for Rivers State...

From wetin me observe for this whole matter, na the court case of Peter Obi/Atiku and INEC concerning the inspection of ONEC sensitive materials and BIVAS reconfiguration be the main reason for the postponement. 
Now concerning Rivers and Lagos gubernatorial election, I dey see big fight for those two states. First be say, the status quo may change in Lagos but Rivers State is too hard to predict. Make we see as e go be sha.... but make every omah stay safe.

Read through the link I paste as source to the message and you go see the reason why them postponed the election. If you wan blame anybody na Peter Obi of Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar of PDP wey talk say make INEC no touch the BVAS but dem supposed reconfigure am for the Gubernatorial Elections. The statement said the postponement was to make for adequate timing to reconfigure the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) ahead of the governorship and state assembly polls.

The Presidential Election Tribunal had restrained the commission from tampering with all sensitive materials –including the BVAS – used in the conduct of the presidential election following the request by the the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP), Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, respectively, who rejected the outcome of the presidential election.

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has resolved to implement outstanding promotion of the government’s workers in the state and fulfill his promise of employing 10,000 youths into the service.

The governor said that he had forwarded the list of members of the Civil Service Commission immediately to the State House of Assembly for screening to enable the commission to oversee the process.

Rivers and Lagos will be a surprise gubernatorial election that will make people to believed dat democracy has come to stay in Nigeria, if INEC will make use of BVAS on the 18th of march because, there is a great team work that is going on in south south to frustrate some governor's that works against the choice of people of south South during the presidential election. I completely understand your frustration. This election is different from other elections conducted in past. Thanks to BVAS the evidence is glaring. INEC said they needed 5 days to reconfigure the machine for the gubernatorial election and there's no enough time so they had to postpone the election, so let's hope there's no hidden agenda. My major concern na their backend server wey dem say dem go transfer the presidential result put. Make dem no come tell us another stories.

Rivers state na PDP state but LP dey cause serious political upheaval as we take see am for Lagos state and other areas, so dem fit pull some surprises. Many persons would have died waiting for this money and this is the time he feels it's appropriate to release the funds or he never planned to but had to do this because of APC shocking defeat in Lagos.

About the postpone election, I think pressure is now on the government and Tinubu is threatening Obi to step down. It is very crazy to see the disposition of President Buhari and also the recent public advice to support that crooked president elect)

If I am to predict both state governorship election outcome I will say River state will slide into an APC state if PDP losegard their stance since Wike is leaving office for a new elected person, the power tussle for a seating governor that is seeking re election is far different from when the governor have finished his tenure and going out of office,  so the PDP aspirants will have to work double hard to be able to beat the ruling party.

-Lagos  may remain APC as the party in Logas have to prepare ahead since the already know what is at stake and how LP outperform APC in lagos with a small merging, APC in lagos will ride on Asiwaju winning to accomplish their party re election bids.

In my opinion, most of the Labour Party flag bearers never thought they would be where they are, and they have not proven themselves worthy of their positions except for the sentiment of their supporters. The track record of Obi is impressive, but what can others show? As for Sanwolu in Lagos firstly make I clear the air, him talk say no be him order that massacre during endsars and if you look am him no get that power because na only one political office holder fit order that thing and an him be GCFR himself but the reason why people Dey vex for am on top the matter be say na him talk say no killing happen and why na now him Dey comot to talk about the thing. This could be true and also it may not be, as we all know the court has agreed that INEC can go on to reconfigure their system provided the back up the history of the concluded presidential election and ensure it’s not tempered with.

We know by now the electoral system isn’t genuine and that other isn’t as easy as it sounds I believe the gubernatorial elections was postponed to by inec time to come up with something to cover their tracks.

I beg to disagree. If he couldn't win Lagos for himself what makes you think he can win it for another person... Is it because he's the political godfather of Lagos? He might have been the king's maker of Lagos state in the past but I can tell you that the times are changing and people are standing up for their mandate. APC lost Lagos to LP and they would lose again if the election is to be conducted in a free and fair basis.
