If you are going to hodl for next 18 years then damn consider your kid as rich amongst his teen friends at the time. That’s gonna be blessings for your child for sure. However, please note that you should be very alert while hodling considering it’s huge Timeline  up ahead. Usually pees get fade up with the hodling due to circumstances such as high prices where greed wakes up while on the other than when bitcoin drops a lot then it’s about loosing fiat valuation thus making it uncomfortable while hodling. Back in the day it was quite common to do something similar to this but with gold, but due to many circumstances this custom has been lost around the world, and it would be nice if now people saved bitcoin instead, as without a doubt over such a long period of time it should become incredibly valuable.

Still holding bitcoin for that long will be a problem, since after such a long time it is likely that recovering those coins will be difficult unless the OP kept on top of things during all of those years.

First of all, learn to use the image icon on the dashboard, but I will so much appreciate you for your efforts toward your newly born baby, it's a pleasure to have a caring mother like you on this forum,  it shows that you want the best for your child, but can you hold the coin for more than 15 to 16 years?
Because that is the best time to present the present to your child and for your child to know about bitcoin investment early it will help him expensively in the future.

It's a good decision to hold bitcoins for a very long period of time. all you need to do after that is store those private keys as best you can. because one of the hurdles in holding bitcoin long-term is its private keys. other than that, you might be able to add to those assets little by little. I think the risk of the investment you make is not big. besides that, the potential is also good. My baby and I has made up to $50 if converted just 10days after giving birth.  I am definitely going to use the money to invest in bitcoin this year for my baby so that in the next 18 years my baby will be proud of the decision I took for him.

Im so glad I discovered this platform this year, I believe I am going to achieve a lot from this forum

Exactly, in my country most parents use their children as their retirement plan in the future. They will always say that "you are the one that will get us rich" which gives pressure for the children in the future. Imagine working for yourself and you also need to have well pay job since they expect a lot from you. I'm not saying not to pay their kindness soon but having a child is not an investment to rely for them in the future. As the OP mentioned, I think the op has an intention of holding for a very long time despite the volatile situation of the bitcoin. But we all know that holding for that long might result to a good and bad results. But for 18 years? I might say that the kid is already rich. And yes to give them knowledge to bitcoin since the parents have background how bitcoin works so most likely they will introduce bitcoin and guide them. It's good to learn earlier since kids have a well memory.

I'm happy for you, and it's great that you've decided to buy some bitcoin for your kid, but I hope you understand what bitcoin is first. It will be nice if you can hold onto your coins for a while. If you want to invest for your child, invest a small sum of money that you can manage rather than all of your savings due to other emergency situations or financial difficulties.

We don't know what's with the future and for me, you should think of any good price where you're going to sell instead of just plainly planning that you'll hold for that specific long period of time.

OP, has to take note of it now, but actually if she can hold Bitcoin from now until when the baby is 18 years old, the price will be higher than what it is today. Unless the OP wants to hold from now until when her stipulated time is up, if not, she can sell when she sees a big ATH, which definitely will happen before the 18-year mark, and if it happens, she can also buy back when the price drops, which will increase her holding.

every parent has a plan for the welfare of their child's future and in my opinion this is something that is unique and rarely done by parents.
I hope you already have a cold wallet or hardware wallet to store the Bitcoin investment that you prepared for your baby because to maximize the security of Bitcoin assets for your child, very unfortunate if you only use a hot wallet because you also have to consider the security vulnerabilities of your investments. You have to prepare for this to the maximum because it will take up to a dozen years.

And on your decision to invest the financial gift's you got on behalf of your baby into bitcoin as a way of securing her financial future like I must admit that is one of the best decision you have just made in the journey of life for your child. I know of some parents that had this plan for their children after birth, in their own case they had to invest in shares and stocks from reputable establishments for their children and the these children came of age about to get into the university the proceeds from the investment over the years was what they used in sponsoring themselves throughout their university time and afterwards.
So on this note, your child will ever be grateful to grow up knowing their the mother has already secured his future because 18 years from now bitcoin would be worth in value  than what anyone can imagine now.

There are people who have come to know about bitcoin, but a very few among them turn to be users/investors. You will earn from here if you can invest bitcoins for your child. But I think your child can see a lot of property before he turns 18.
