It will keep rising in the next 10+ years. But right now it's hard to predict when it will go up to 30k+. But my best guess is that you should wait until the economy will get better, the market will be more predictable and FED will start lowering interest rates.

In my opinion selling BTC at this time may not be a good decision but if you sell 50% BTC and BTC comes back down to 25000 then you can buy again from there.but it can be a risky decision.

Bitcoin will eventually rise back up to $50,000. The time and date is what is unknown. It will not happen overnight. The conditions are there for it to continue going up. There have been some recent notable bank failures. People are less confident in their government as we're seeing with protests across France. We are also seeing the US dollar starting to lose it's dominance as a global reserve currency. Regulators might try to suppress its adoption but there are too many things trending in Bitcoin's favor right now.

You never can tell the exact price that bitcoin will rise or fall to, but if you have faith that the price will continue to move in the uptrend and just want to continue to hold that's okay. but, if you are scared that the price might drop then you can simply proceed to sell your coin and I guarantee that nobody is going to judge you for selling.

It happens that bitcoin price can change within a few days. It falls, then it rises, then it falls again. This is the same volatility.

And you're a sly one if you want an easy solution. The problem is that no one can know whether tomorrow btc will rise or fall. So don't take other people's advice seriously.

I think this is a bad time to sell bitcoin. Recall the last btc's peak and think that this level can be reached again. Not sure about 50k, but most likely it will go in the 30-32k range as the next resistance area in the next week. BTC went above both the weekly moving averages now (50 and 200), and invalidated the death cross.
So, as long as it stays above them it will keep going higher. If you have bought at lower levels just keep watching for weekly candles and the MAs.
Personally I would say, below 25k is where you got to worry again.

Long term? Easy, yes. But if your span of period for that price is for this year then it may take time and it's 50/50 of chance to happen. Do remember that halving is about to happen next year and that will trigger the demand and lesser supply for the rewards of miners, in short the impact will go directly to the price assumingly will create a positive impact.

Sell if you need the cash, do not regret selling if there's an important thing you're about to purchase or bills to pay. You don't have to sell all of it and just take a part of portion from your holdings. And if you've got other source of income, upon selling, create a plan that you'll buy those sold bitcoin of yours and do the DCA technique for you not to miss out the next bull run.

Bitcoin does not make one directional movement to a certain point.
It will not just arrived to 50,000 dollars if there is no major bull run. So the Bitcoin price cannot go to 50,000 dollars immediately from 20,000 dollars. The highest you should anticipate for now is that $30,000 and even if at bitcoin 30000 dollars it will still drop down to the range of 20,000 dollars.

if you are buying bitcoin for a long time purpose, there is no need to sell. But if you are buying to hold and wait for it to appreciate, you can sell now and wait for the market to correct and you repeat the process.

This issue of wanting to sell when the price of BTC is high makes some lose out on the opportunity to experience the beauty of holding because it's like they'd end up being losers if the price of BTC drops lower than the amount for which it was bought. That's why it's better to invest with an amount you can easily take your eyes away from.
 Currently, the price of Bitcoin is at 27,407 and we all hope for more increase and just like others have opined, we are sure to see a somewhat steady rise in it's price. As it is, reputable financial institutions are going under and I'm certain this could push more investors to look to Bitcoin thereby causing an increase.

If you are asking for the long term, then of course, bitcoin will hit $50k, and moreover, it can generate new ATH. Should be on speculation I guess. But if we would base on charts and price actions, the market behavior is currently and still bullish for not falling to buyer's area still. But for sure it would give us a hard time because it is continuously falling and increasing as time is passing by. But if we would base with the behavior itself, it could either go up crossing $32k or fall down til $20k. No one is certain, for sure. What we need for a clear trend line to occur is for an enough reason to take place in or for this industry.

You are participating in a bitcoin forum, and with this type of question, what would you expect the answer to be? And I also agree with everyone, bitcoin will rise and hit new ATH in the future. Biases are more likely to be told but what should we expect? Ofcourse we would prefer positive viewpoint in this industry than for people to suffer from their losses on FOMOs. No one knows for sure whether Bitcoin will go up or down for some time to come because this is directly related to price fluctuations. I never read any predictions that Bitcoin will rise to its current price. All the forecasts I saw showed that the price will depreciate or remain stable at maybe $20,000 till next year. The currentt mini-bull run has shown that Bitcoin price movement cannot be predicted. Bitcoin adoption is getting stronger every day because awareness is growing. Bitcoin critics mocked the sector because of the fall of some crypto ventures last year. This year the same critics are seeing banks fail thereby making people seek other alternatives. More banks will still fail this year and it might keep affecting the price of bitcoin positively.

Bitcoin can move in all directions, so we can't just settle for one direction and ignore the others. The current trend is good to expect $30k to be broken, but it is always possible to get a correction below $25k again if negative sentiment persists.

Hopefully it may continue to rise to $50000,even though no one really knows to be exact but for speculations.but I'm of the opinion that it will keep rising as the price tends to significantly increase this year.for sure BTC has a history of bouncing back even though it remains a volatile asset.

It's your own BTC, so you have every right and free will to do whatever you wish to do with it. But if you are really concern about missing the chance to join the rise, then start doing DCA. Buy with some and keep some on hold. You can get chance to buy at low as the crypto market is volatile. No one can say for sure what to come next. So it is best to stay prepared for all scenarios.

I agree, nobody can predict what it could do today and that is why I believe that we shouldn't really be worrying about anything that could end up with an exact prediction of what the top will be this year or what it will end the year with. Best case is to look for the future because of this reason, do we have an assumption that it will break over ATH? We do, and that's enough.

If you believe that will happen which you do and I do as well then that means we should be buying right now, up until it goes above and then profit from it, doesn't matter if it will happen this year or in 2 years, it just means we are going to profit from it a lot.

I don't know what good it will do you yo hear other people's opinion on how high btc will go because no one can tell you the exact way the market will react. During the period when silicon Valley Bank incident most people thought btc is going to dump alot couple with the Mtgox news but for some reason the way react differently.
If you are btc for long term you should not concern about the price now since the future price is definitely going to be a lot higher.

With regards to you being afraid because of the fact that it might go up even more after selling it, I guess the only advice that I can give you to that one is "be contented". Be contented in the profits that you can get after selling it because after all, you don't know what can happen in the future. I am not really that amazing of a trader, I do make some trades and sometimes I earn money and sometimes I lose money when I do short term trading and I would say that overall it's just a tiny bit of profit and I am happy with it.

But as someone who is like that when trading, I can say that I am making x10 more from just holding, because in that situation I buy when it is low and know what I have to do and I keep holding it for a long time as well. When you do that, it is quite impossible for you to lose, in order to lose you have to sell when it goes down and I don't do that, I end up holding it and wait for it to go back up again in the future, doesn't matter if it's a week or a year.

It depends on what price you purchased and your target price because it’s already good to sell now if you purchased at 15k or below because that’s nearly x2 profit. Waiting for 50,000$ is just x2 of the current price while there’s no guarantee that the price will continuously recover without losing the current value.

But even if bitcoin plummets, we have nothing to worry about. I even expect bitcoin to plummet again instead of rising in price from now on. I am using idle money, and my plan is for long term investment, so I prefer to buy cheap bitcoins rather than high prices.

If you have a decent profit, selling now is a good idea. As long as you are satisfied with the profit you gained. But if not yet, just wait until you reach the profit you desired.

I posted a topic about the reality that this remains possible based on the 2019 reversal, which currently most people (65%) who voted in that poll at the time thought it was possible (even if not necessarily that likely).

Ultimately a lot of it will come down to whether $30K is reclaimed as new support or becomes new resistance, as this will act as the sort of secondary confirmation for further upside after $25K was broken.

You could sell now and price drops in half, or not sell and price double in value. Generally speaking, this means it's probably not a good time to sell. Even if price going to $50K wasn't more likely than dropping to $14K (which it is at least in my opinion), then say it were 50/50 that price reaches $14K or $50K and is currently at $28K then it's probably the worst time to be selling imo. Also consider, if price dropped to $14K from here, can you honestly say you'd be buying back twice as much Bitcoin at this price, if you sold at $28K? Personally I don't think so. It'd be a lot easier to be selling at $50K in 2021 and buying back at $25K for example.

There was an argument for selling back at $25K last year when price was rejected by the 200 Week MA, but now it has reclaimed it, that argument doesn't really stand anymore imo.

This is a good point about liquidity, as the initial move to $30K wasn't supported by high volume, in fact relatively low volume compared to previous moves to $20K or $25K. So unsurprisingly, this level hasn't "stuck" as new support or a consolidation/accumulation zone yet. As telling is the current selling pressure that is also relatively low volume. So while the move to $29K is starting to look like a fake-out to the upside, the correction back towards $29K also lacks bearish conviction based on volume and could easily become another fake-out to the downside without a re-test of $28K previous accumulation zone.

Fortunately I think most speculators respect volume as a key indicator of strong/weak buying/selling pressure. So far there isn't much to suggest that price will go considerably lower based on the current low volume in the market, likewise not enough to suggest it will go considerably higher. I think this is generally true, especially when you look at the price action for the past year. Initially there would be investors buying the 200 Week MA at around $22,350 almost a year ago now. There were also others (or same investors) buying around $20K, knowing it would likely be a great price for the future.
