One would hope any campaign wouldn't skimp on the fees, but when they're sky-high it'd be smart on the project's part to not go overboard. That kind of reminds me of all those internet startups in the late 90s and early 00s that burned through capital as fast as they got it--and on unnecessary stuff, too.
Sorry, that sounds like I'm against them taking care of campaign participants, which I'm not. In fact, it's a generous gesture and when fees are high bitcoin is
usually acting pretty volatile and who knows what could happen with the price when you're waiting and waiting?
