what is the use of the sentence if he would have 10 years time to pay back the victims, as Cryptogreatdane mentioned, if he takes his life in this time (which is not to be excluded with his personality/illness/addiction) - then nobody would have anything of it

and not to offend Cryptogreatdane - he has chosen option c, because he is most likely not affected by the ck-scam and therefore has not lost any money - please correct me, if this is not so
what i want to say is that most victims would rather choose the first two options and option c is more likely to be chosen by users who only think about the punishment/justice of Patrick and therefore don't have to record a loss...

  I have to agree 100% with CryptoDane.....It looks like Dogg has not learned his lesson and has the audacity to call in advance and steal even more BTC from us....and all because nothing was done to him from the start!

   There is a saying, if you cannot do the time do not commit the crime and he deserves to get his ass thrown in prison for the pain and suffering he has caused us all...otherwise what example will this be for future scammers, you can scam and get away with it?

   A prison sentence will be a very rude awakening for anyone, tough or not. The first offense committed we were told it was a one time weakness and he Happened to find some keys...this time around it is plain and with a fuck you attitude to us all. Are we all pussies or what??

   Anyhow, I am not the authority here....I stepped up to do this poll when nobody else did....so that being said, if anyone here feels that this is not right in the way I conducted this poll...please speak up and I will lock and archive this poll and let better people than myself take over and run a new Poll.

   I am a victim here just as much as anyone else if not more than most....so do what you guys wanna do....

Ok inform the police (hopefully they understand something about the btc topic).
But is there a legal contract or agreement in which coldkey/yogg "guaranteed" the nature of the keys or would not swipe them?
How many are the real probabilities that he can repay this theft (if it can be demonstrated in a court from a legal point of view...)? How long does it take? How much would be a lawyer's fee / various degrees of judgment cost... in the end what would you get?
if he doesn't have a criminal record, he certainly won't go in jail...
It is much easier for him to be prosecuted for unpaid loans than for such a scam

He can take the next 10 years to pay it back. I don't care how long it takes as long as we get the judgement. Second, it may help with criminal prosecution to have someone on the ground in France.
  This option is important to hopefully deter people from doing this in the future. If people know were fighters and not going to lay down and take it. They may think twice before scamming the collectables page.

If this would work, then why aren't we doing this with Tim Fillmore and Titan Mint who stole A LOT more than Yogg has.

Lawyers don’t tell you it’s a waste of time to go after someone poor for no reason. Not to mention even if he was ordered to pay it back over a period of time..I’m not sure that means anything either for a number of reasons.

I would go for option B. Indeed, a lawyer in France is expensive and even with the best lawyer it won't surprise me that the court have difficulties understanding the whole story. And even if it does might say something like: "no enough evidence".

That being said, i have to go to Normandy shortly and Rouen is on my way...Might want visit him and have a talk...

Nobody - Another user noticed some of his cards had been swept just yesterday as we were talking on the phone. I'm not going to say who it was, out of respect for their night of having to peel 50+ cards...

Edit - I don't know how much he lost either, but quite a bit... Only because ... Timezones

  I only responded because i was affected on April 3rd with playtoshi. Of course i only lost $28 and have no interest in compensation. However i do believe i have a say now. If i had lost thousands i would feel differently and probably want option B. I think that maybe hiring a lawyer is wrong approach now. We need criminal prosecution first before any judgment could be reached. Its to complicated of a subject and we need direct linkage between him and the wallets that received funds.
  I think there could be a balance between option B and C. How about paying back affected people starting with most highest losses. Reserve 15% of the money to hire an agent or private investigator in france who can present case and evidence to the local police department. Shouldnt be too expensive. Maybe a couple days to organize paperwork and one drive to police station.

I am all for starting a new auction with the intent of the proceeds to seek prosecution, or whatever means best suited to make him be held responsible. At this point though, this is getting ridiculous. People bid with the understanding that the proceeds would go to the victims.
