Yeah, I've seen those people that have been scammed by those fake extension of ARB airdrop. That's why don't be greedy guys.

If the airdrop was done, it's already done and there will be new extensions of it unless it's coming from the actual officials and developers of the project.

I remember the UNI airdrop before. After their official airdrop, there were so many scam sites trying to lure people because of the hype surrounding it.
Many are trying to claim it after it exploded in the market. Those who got it really got their luck of their lifetime.
Now, with the new hype, there's no doubt, scammers are on the loose again trying to bait naive users.
People should always validate the site they are visiting as scammers will try their best to screw people to pocket money as much as they can.
That's what these scammers are doing.

After a successful airdrop and has spread it's name towards different social platforms, there goes the scammers that will create an airdrop and organize it on the same name as that project.

But little that those folks that feels that they're too late on that airdrop will find some excitement and hope if an ad appears in front of them that there's another series and round for that airdrop because it's successful and it's already listed in good exchanges.

some service tools do not have good censorship about scams that still exist and affect the crypto environment, I also see many people losing money because of trusting KOLs. It can be seen that taking advantage of mutual trust as well as hitting people's greed is always effective for fraudsters to commit wrongdoing. But it is also necessary to blame users who do not have the necessary skills to avoid misinformation, this is also a necessary reminder for those who are new to this field and think that everything is great.

I think the huge ones are profitable because the recent ARB airdrop was probably worth $1000 and it has only cost you hundreds to do the tasks plus the time and effort, but probably worth it. Seed phrase or private keys are not the problem but likely phishing sites. I am not fan of airdrops too but if it's huge and profitable I didn't hesitate to do so.
The random airdrops that are all over social media asking you to like, tweet or retweets are not worth it as some of the airdrop tokens you'll get will never get listed and for those that get listed won't be worth anything at the end of the day.

The only airdrops now worth your time requires you to do more task that has to do with you interacting with the platforms directly and that involves some few dollars as you just said so they aren't free.

Many typical airdrop hustlers don't have that few dollars which is why they miss out on this huge airdrop that pays thousands of dollars. Also most of them don't know how to interact with this Platforms/blockchain to be eligible for the airdrop.
Well, airdrops even in the past requires you to do certain task/s and it's not new in this space. I'm not fan of those tweets/likes/retweets stuff anymore so I know what's worth it a try. I think what you're likely arguing are the shitcoin that has few active devs and hasn't have any fundings. Well, it's on them if they want to know about the protocol or not but Arbitrum, Optimism, Uniswap, etc. kind of airdrops are really worth a shot.

For people living in developing or underdeveloped countries, I can tell you that Airdrops have been a huge source of income no matter how you look at it. Unemployment rate in those countries are very high and even many with jobs are underemployed.
So if a good paying airdrop like Arbitrum, Ontology, Nano, Hydro, Core, etc comes around they'll be happy to spend their time and resources to earn it. I think the OP message is very clear, one has to be careful with clicking any links and airdrop wallet should always be different from main crypto wallet.

Would still be worth of a try simply because you won't be required to invest;not all people are capable of such thing. It would be better to waste efforts than money as is. Everything's risky so atleast efforts could be put into rest than with money being a problem to get back. Unfortunately, there are just projects which are non-paying. But on my end, it is one of my starters in this industry; gaining though hardwork since I had no capability before to invest. And these airdrops gave me a boost. But yes, I do see many airdrops which are not giving rewards. Alternative could be campaigns but due to high forum rank requirement, it would be difficult to some.

True. I had one rough experience where the airdrop team which was just completely a fake one and not really an existing project tried to steal my wallet by thinking that they can just bait me into their fake MEW site back then. I know that many people would not fall for the same trick, but people still get victimized every day to these kinds of scummy behaviors.

It's not just the worthless rewards, sometimes it is just that it almost cost nothing to just try to screw with people and these scums just get away with what they do.

Thanks for the alert.

Indeed scammers always take advantage of the big names for phishing, now they have a great chance to phish using the huge fame Zksync network got and the potential airdrop will have a lot of scammers trying to phish.

So it is very necessary to check the official website of Twitter and Telegram because scammers use very similar names that are difficult to identify.

I'm wondering if Airdrop is still profitable nowadays. It's surprising that people involved with Airdrop don't know they shouldn't enter their seed or private key to participate in Airdrop. When will they learn? Or is it just bots doing Airdrop? However, I am not a fan of Airdrop anyway. It's just a waste of time, and I don't think it's profitable for projects to give free tokens to Airdrop participants, which often leads to the dumping of the project. It's better not to be greedy for free money and stay safe.

Some Airdrops have quite the potential, so we also have to be good at sorting them out and researching them first to find out the clarity of the projects that are being built. Some of the L2 etherium indeed projects are quite potential, so maybe most people don't want to miss the opportunity like Optimism and Arbitrum which they have given decent prizes to the winners.
Of course, an airdropper must be careful regarding airdrops that are shared via telegram or Twitter because it is very dangerous if we are not careful, and the important thing here is that when working on an airdrop not to use the main wallet that has valuable assets.
I guess developers need to test their network from network testers and look for errors in their project from user feedback while testing.

Hackers and scammers are working 24/7 just to get free money from their victim, and they always ride with the hype so if you are following several airdrops, make sure you know what you are doing and make sure to double check the site before providing any informations. Airdrop today is still hyped, most probably you’ll see more fake site so be careful.

When it comes to phishing links and other shady links out there just to have that main intention on accessing your wallet keys then its not new anymore. It would really be just that right that they would really be

hiding out those links so that it wouldnt really be that easily be seen or would fool out people to easily. This is why its never been that recommendable to click any links and give out permissions if ever your
wallet does have some pop up and allowing certain connections or transactions. This isnt only limited on Twitter but also in other common messaging app like TG.
We should be careful all the times because we dont really know on how these hackers would really be making up something new.

Are you already feeling the hype of Arbitrum airdrop? And you feel like you will never miss out on the next upcoming airdrop like Zksync and StarkNet? This warning message is for you.
This will depend on how our next steps to do. For many or most airdrop participants, joining airdrop like this with huge rewards are really exciting. And most people will not think to buy again the token because they know commonly the hype that will happen. that is why many people will only utilize the chance to get free money from airdrop, but not for buying or investing in the tokens. And we as the people in this crypto world also have noticed how kind of this hype project will commonly drop easily after success. that is why stay careful and wise in joining any new project activities. But the victim may be the new users who are coming to crypto world and becoming so FOMO with the hype. And they enter in the wrong time, leading to get loss after the dropped price someday.

Are you already feeling the hype of Arbitrum airdrop? And you feel like you will never miss out on the next upcoming airdrop like Zksync and StarkNet? This warning message is for you.

After the Arbitrum airdrop was a success and many people are claiming their arb tokens some people claimed that they lost all their arbs after claiming them from the official claiming website into their wallet, including a friend of mine, you want to know how it happened? This is how

There is no way you won't use Twitter if you are into airdrops, even if you don't want to, some tasks will require you to follow the project's official Twitter account, some crazy people are sending Tweet out on Twitter about how to pass for the next big Airdrop e.g Zksync and they will drop you a link, or ask you for your BSC address.

Look at the red spot very carefully, the links are phishing links, they can easily have access to your recovery seed once you connect your wallet to the link and wait patiently till the claiming day of the real token or send you a malicious fake token.

Stop visiting every links you see on Twitter because you want to qualify for the airdrop, Twitter is no more a safe place, Twitter is the most dangerous social media platform, especially for crypto-related things.

I passed the Arbitrum airdrop myself, using Airdrops.io and Airdropbob, they are oldy and trusty, it's been over four years since I've been using these two, Zksync task is currently on the platforms.

Stay safe and do not forget that not all that glitters are made of real Gold.

If you have already interacted with any link on Twitter all in the name of Airdrop, please go back and check the link very well, make sure it says lite.zkysnc.io or bridge.zksync.io, if not , please change your old wallet you are using for airdrop and use a new wallet address.

This kind of thing has happened many times, actually.
the more hype there will be more scammers in the event, this will apply and often happens to beginners
For those who are used to airdrops, they will only trust the links provided by officials, not social media influencers

The hype of the said coin seems over and it dumped after the airdtop participants have sold theit tokens which is a usual thing that always happens. Twitter and other platforms can easily be used by scammers so they are also taking advantage of it to fool people so we better be careful in every single click that we do. All of us want to earn from airdrops since it's free for everyone but it is also necessary to be observant and do at least simple research before joining to get rid of being hacked or scammed.

This is the main reason why I'm hesitant to enter such airdrops.
It's because there's a chance that you might click a wrong link, connected the wallet there and *POOF!!!*. MONEY GONE in an instant. I also didn't enter the Arbitrum airdrop, but no regrets on my side.

Phishing links has been one of the most effective ways of the scammers to scam people. Newbie, ignorant, and sometimes the lazy investors who are just lazy enough not to read what must be read are the ones who are most likely to be falling into these kind of scams. Many said this quote, but I will say it again. "Always be vigilant". Always be vigilant especially in airdrops. Yes Arbitrum airdrop came up as a successful airdrop, but many scammers and hackers are using that as their advantage to lure and attract those newbie and ignorant investors.

I know that there are some including the OP who has shared their own tips already here, but I'll share mine as well.

1. Always double or triple check the website you are entering. Make sure that's the official website you are using with. Whenever I go to a new website, I always go to Youtube, pick the most trusted influencer that I know (though I don't trust them at all), see the description and sometimes, there are some official links there. Just be careful because they might still give you a wrong or a phishing link. Maybe picking an influencer that has many subscribers might help. Still, don't trust them.
2. As much as possible, use a separate wallet if you are going for an airdrop. In that way, it will reduce your chances of getting hacked or scammed.
3. If you can, just don't participate into airdrops at all. In this way, you are 100% safe from getting hacked or scammed.

I sort of disagree with this. Hunting for airdrops from a twitter i don't recommend, but using a new platform you like when you sense they might be giving airdrops in the future. That can be lucrative.
Bt only claim them when you understand why you would be eligible. A good airdrop can be worth ton of money. You just need to know what you are doing.
So always double check the site you are using to claim your airdrop and check your metamask's "Connected sites" list in the background before claiming anything. Always disconnect any suspicious or all sites if you are unsure. Never ever click links in twitter, telegram, or other chat groups or connect your wallets to suspicious sites.

If you are unsure about the url, use coinmarketcap's official links for the project homepage you are getting an airdrop from and follow instructions there.

And there are some legit sites like https://earni.fi/ where you don't need to sign in with your wallet, you can check just by typing your address to check any potential airdrops that you are eligible for.

With the amount that can be received up to $1000, many people are starting to come back and look for opportunities to get retroactive with many other projects that have not launched tokens. But I really feel that people are exaggerating about how to make money for free in this space, which is why many scammers abuse information and provide false information to steal. information for inexperienced users.
Basically this is not a new problem in the crypto environment, but it is still a problem that many people make mistakes, anyway over time everyone with enough experience will know how to avoid these things this toxic.

A good airdrop can be worth ton of money. You just need to know what you are doing.
A large amount of altcoins are not good ones and a large number of people do not know what they are doing. There would be people that have benefited from airdrops at one time or the other, but in my experience it's not a net profit for the amount of privacy risk and security risk you are exposed to.

Good idea to see the prizes from the Airdrop and all your data has been received by that person, you will never know what will happen to your data later with the dream that the money you earn will be big from the Airdrop you are playing.

Or one could just avoid airdrops together. The security and privacy risk one is exposed to by trying out multiple airdrops is not worth the tokens they give out as rewards.
The time completing those tasks and creating different social accounts can be applied to some other endeavor which would be more rewarding.

Avoiding airdrop will make a person missed a some legit airdrops.  As OP stated we can use certain reputable platforms that are involved in airdrop processing.  We must be vigilant and very careful though.  But if a person don't care about freebies for security purpose then I agree to avoid airdrop altogether.

True that and people that are scammed or hacked through airdrop exploit will be avoiding any form of airdrop in the future but people who are gaining will seek more airdrops.  Anyway we just need to be vigilant in claiming airdrop and look for safer means in claiming freebies, if the process is suspicious then just ignore it.  Better to miss an airdrop than risking our own funds.

seriously, I think in following airdrops one should always join their discord, since generally the developer themselves always gonna make announcement in their discord channel that way you only get legit information, moreover you could ask directly to the developer themselves if you're still doubtful.
these twitter information are just often misleading and it's den of scammers in which they really trying hard to impersonate the legit devs in order to get your coin and it's not just one of them but thousands of people trying the same thing that the information already irrelevant considering too much of scammers making fake tweets.
I'd say, give yourself a favour by only following the information coming from the developer itself.
