unfortunately if it's just some warning like this many are still gonna gets scammed, trust me, some people gets scammed not because they are fool but because they are getting blinded by their greed, even if it seems risky and could cause them incur money loss, they will try it anyway because they are greedy.
metamask should just block wallet from interacting with the list of scam contract completely.

Well obviously. That's basically one of the features of crypto. Self custody. Not everyone can or should do it as some people are not going to be able to handle their finances. Claiming otherwise would be ableism. The fact is that some people will always need someone more or less to look after them and those people need extra security unless they want to get scammed. It's basically same argument that is in big vs small government.

This is a great development to combat fraud and scams that exploit the cryptocurrency community.  This is a huge help for uninformed users to detect and prevent them from connecting their metamask to phishing and malware-injecting sites.  

Community is still playing the vital role in this case. Without community and the list of scam will not evne increase as it needs to be added manually by reporting the known scam to the group. It's good but it's not so useful for us. When scammers will always change the address and it will not able to detect it. it's hard to say that this feature is good. Due diligence by any crypto user is a must

It is obvious that these scams and fraud sites are reported by the community.  Without the participation of the community, these scam sites will not be exposed.  Sadly it needs other people to lose funds before knowing the sites to be fraud or scams.

Finally such prevention has come, it's just mad that so many scams impersonating dapps stealing money through complicated means which abstract itself from becoming too obvious and they're successful at it, it needs to stop eventually.
Even though many have stated that such thing might be just futile attempt but regardless at least there's still warning that could just prevent some from making the transaction.
It's just made these days that to just use some smart contract we should be looking out for the fake version for it, even worse if we forget in revoking the permission of using the ERC20 it's gonna get stolen eventually.
It seems metamask team has finally realize that such thing is so rampant and this need immediate prevention.

they should've implemented such thing from the early days, but at least the fact that it has gotten implemented right now is already good enough, so many newbies are getting scammed through fake smart contract and so called dapps, that there are so many money gets wasted. I'd say, it's such huge help coming from metamask for the general newbie out there.

There must be a reason why they did not do it, maybe they did not had the resources to do so or maybe it was a matter of ideology, in which they preferred to let their customers do as they wished without given them any kind of warning, but as the number of scammers has increased during the previous years then they found themselves on the obligation to do a move like this to protect the ones using their wallet or they risked losing them to other wallet providers.

To be honest I'm very impressed with the current developments in Metamask, because apart from the security features you mentioned, Metamask also has many new features such as swap and britge. I think in the near future there will be a lot of development by the metamask team.

We will have to wait and see how effective this feature actually is. It wont save everyone of course but I think that it will still be very helpful.

This sort of improvement may not be possible with the bitcoin wallet. If they do it then they will have to kee marking all the generated addresses which is tedious task with decentralised management.

This feature is probably not even needed for bitcoin wallets because you cant connect those to suspicious websites and lose your money that way as thats how majority of people lose money with Metamask.

The developers of Metamask have done a good job, and we should applaud them for it. With the implementation of this feature, if we connect to an insecure link, we will receive a warning and our wallet will remain secure. If such features are implemented in other wallets as well, it will be a significant achievement for the crypto community but we should also be careful while connecting the wallets to unknown links.

This is good, too many people who do not know how they should use their Metamask ended up connecting them to wrong places and ended up losing their money. This way it is at least a bit lesser chance to get it hacked like that, there are so many places that could steal from you and the lower you can get that number the better, because there are too many people who would fall for each of them, banning even few would be awesome.

These are for known scams at least, and that means there would be a lot of websites who can't continue to keep scamming people, I am pretty sure there would be some extra idiots who would override to reach in there, which would be realistic considering how many idiots are out there in the world.

Indeed, unfortunately, there is a lack of information that thoroughly explains how this scam detection feature works, which makes it hard to get a grasp of its potency.

I have tried to look around about signature farming and wallet draining behaviour that is managed by Blockaid, it seems that OpenSea has already those kinds of systems in place(https://opensea.io/blog/articles/our-efforts-to-prevent-nft-theft). So it is rather vague about what are the differences between the OpenSea system and Blockaid's analysis system. One thing that looks promising is that there is automation of interaction or transaction simulation taking place, which if we looked upon it on the surface, that could potentially reduce scam smart contact massively.

Seems more useful for airdrop participants when connecting metamask account with new wallet or new dapp, I have been used metamask for longer time and new feature will help us to know with scam connecting site and have risk. Still not found with risk connecting maybe with all my metamask connection seems secure and don't get like the picture sending by OP.

What will happen though if your wallet being tagged as a scam? Are they going to release the crypto or seize it and airdrop it to the public?

No clear details on how they are going to this, though they should surrender the money into somewhere because it should not be their source of income, maybe they can return it to a legitimate victim of that scammer wallet, but doing this will require another work. Let’s see if Metamask is already prepared for this scenario, its good to be more secured though.

Metamask user here. Pancakeswap has been safe for me to use.
I found ASH token on pancakeswap which is a recently new token that has rebounded from the last bear market. Since December is has steady growth of over 300%. Currently it's pretty evenly distributed over 1600 wallets and growing.. This isn't your typical token, it has a liquidity pool that builds with each transaction due in part to a transaction fee. Token holders get a vote on which projects this pool funds. Checkout there website ashtoken.io the incentive is in holding because 5% of that transacting fee goes back to wallet holders. Amazing concept that is going to continue to boost this token.

Beware of SCAMS and don't connect your wallet to a nontrusted website. Research all alt coins and trading platforms before connecting.

metamask has grown really fast over the course of the year, they're like the pioneer, this one steps they take to ensure the security of their users funds, definitely a good move.
after all not everyone have the knowledge to not get scammed, considering many scams attempts nowadays has become rampant, many are having their hard time differentiating between the scams and the real because of complexity from using dapps, I think if metamask gonna refine this feature over time it would be great and will keep many from losing money.

Welp, this is better than nothing you know, but to me it's just like that anti-virus thing where they have a bunch of list of potentially dangerous apps trying to invade your computer. This is a great start and a better development and I hope this will grow more in the future to help investors choose the right investment without losing too much from a scam token. Aly, it's not that really perfect to avoid scam tokens since most of them are just starting, so a scam potential token will be detected only if someone put it on the watchlist.

this update can really help newbies to avoid fraudulent sites and I've updated my metamask now, many features are helpful and can be used whether it's to detect sites marked fraud even dangerous contract addresses, so far I'm more interested in using metamask than wallet other crypto browsers because it's easier to make transactions and connect to any crypto site.

Well this update really helpful to anyone whose been using metamask. A prompt like this could avoid potential threats on some dapps that could have been made by scammers. Since we arent sure if we are connecting to a right and legit dapps.

I didnt recognize such dialogue box yet means Im safe for some dapps that are harmful to a wallet.

I don't know about that problem. this is just my opinion, wallets marked as fraud will be frozen and no one can access the wallet and will be published as a fraud wallet so that no one will be scammed again. again this is just my opinion let's wait for more updates.
