Are lotteries really a good way to engage with gamblers?

I don't recommend partaking in lotteries since the chances of you winning anything are much lower than in traditional gambling. As far as I know you have the best odds playing a skill-based game, or a 50/50 game like when you bet or red/black playing roulette. Then it keeps going down in games like slots where you actually never know what you're going to roll, and reach a fraction of a percentage when you play the lottery.
If you ever get this drive to try your luck and play, think of 2 things.
1. If the prize is so big and they're still making money despite giving it away every week or every few weeks, how much players do they need to pay them to make it worth the time? If your ticket costs $5 and the prize is 5 million, there has to be over a million losers in every single game.
2. You're being lured in by very high prize and very low participation cost, which means you're being promised a lot for very little. Such deals never work in business and they will not work for you in gambling. When someone tells you If you give me $100 in bitcoin I'll give you 100k in 6 months, you think this must be a scam, but somehow people get caught by the very same deal when they buy lottery tickets.

That's bad for a business to focus on one particular game while your competitor have a lot of variety. So instead of focusing on one particular game much better to have more option to choose so that it can look appealing to their existing players and decide to stay and look for another game to play.

Lotteries are losing fame now maybe due to some results especially if its conducted by online platform but if the rewards is appealing then maybe many would try their luck.

The gambling industry is big and to be successful it needs more things into consideration. Rather than focusing on lottery it is good to have focus on dice and further add more games to the platform. People look for instant results which isn't possible with lotteries. Another thing, almost every gambling platform have got lucky draws conducted at specific time interval.

Lotteries have ruined the life of lot many people. People have lost the trust on it, because we don't know what is happening behind. Technology things have got advanced, still manipulation is possible. Even now there are people who keep buying lottery tickets regularly. I've got a friend who used to travel 20km every weekend to buy lottery. Now this had become his routine.

Gamblers are naturally that too impatient or short tempered on which they dont really like to wait up for longer period of time on waiting for the results for them to know whether they have won or lose.
This is why its not really that shocking that lotteries arent really that getting much attention or recognition here on gambling field and most likely they would be less in existence due to lack of interest.
As been said where we do want those instant results which we cant see outcomes in a blink of an eye just like those dice games and crash ones which we know that it is been flooding the entire
market with having these types of games due to high interest and tending to get some considerable marketshare which it wouldnt really be that bad at all.

Here in India, private lotteries are banned and only those run by the central and state governments are allowed. And personally I don't take part in these lotteries (although I have tried my luck a few times in the past), because only a small fraction of the total revenues (~10% or even lower) is given out in the form of prize money. And also, all lottery winnings in India are subjected to 39% income tax, and there is an additional 10% cut known as "agent's commission". There is no logic in wasting your hard earned money in such games.

We at MegaPari got used to a format of a lottery - we ask players to fulfill certain requirements and collect their IDs in order to pick winners for rewards.
First they were some bonus offerings, now we are also giving away "physical prizes" - a luxurious vacation or even a Lamborghini crossover. (details in our ANN thread, btw).
But here what concerns me - I think we need to move to a more engaging way of communicating with the audience while  running such campaigns.

1.Stop collecting IDs of the lottery participants. Perhaps this is the main way to get more people joining your lottery.
2.Personally I don't care about luxurious vacations or Lamborghinis. I would join a lottery, if the prize is just money(cryptocurrencies).
3.Ask the participants to share your lottery on social media, in exchange for more lottery tickets for free. This way you will get free advertising, more web traffic and more people joining the lottery. The viral effect is really important in online marketing nowadays.
I'm not sure whether or not some social media platforms would allow such promotions.

If India gave a large enough discount to the lottery winner, only a few gamblers would be willing to spend money and spend their time just betting on the lottery.
The lottery is a type of bet that is quite difficult to win because it has random output numbers and is arranged in several numbers so that to be able to predict and bet correctly on the lottery you only really rely on luck and it seems that the winning percentage in the lottery game is around 30% so it will be very detrimental if after winning it you have to pay deductions or taxes as applied by India.
It's better to play in a game that I think can be entertaining and provide a number of advantages.

I am not actually sure, maybe you should open a poll to know how many people are interested with the lotteries but personally I think the good way to engage with gamblers is through good promotions, actually a lot of promotions to be given to the users as that would keep them playing in the website if they know there's a lot of perks they can receive through promotion and seasonal promotion like Halloween, Christmas or if there's a major league you can have seasonal promotions to those and I think that's what players wanted rather than lottery.

this is a good suggestion, making a poll will get a good response from gamblers, apart from that promotional events on holidays will make gambling sites appear consistent and serious in keeping visitors

To be honest, the lottery is one that I like but sometimes I only enter the lottery when I'm confident / confident (not all the time), but if there was a lottery contest/event, that would be a great attraction for me personally

Live draws is something that is recommended but its true that it isnt something an assurance that it would be making more trustable if we do speak about those lottery companies or sites which we know
that results could be still rigged.This is why it isnt really that shocking that there are no lottery sites that do exist as of today excluding Freebitco of course since they arent that relying only on their lottery but rather also with their hi-lo  or dice games that been offering which they do able to sustain for this long. If the site would be only just focuses on lottery alone
then it would really hardly be able to survive this market.

Are you serious about that? How do you really think that someone can rig an online random number generator that is being used on a live stream? Do you mean that they will have pauses in the live stream and change the results or what? Because there is probably no way that I can think of which one can use to rig a lottery when it's being shown live and the winner is being chosen using an RNG.

And if we talk about lotteries in general, they are a good way to keep your customers engaged with the site, about the lottery at Freebitco, that was the main reason why they got so much exposure and got so famous, I know this because I was a user before they had lottery on the site.

Actually in India, most of the states doesn’t allow people to buy or sell of lottery tickets. So how you say India need to give discounts to lottery winner. If I was not wrong are you discussing about the price of Lottery. But while comparing to the winning amount, the ticket price will be 0.0001% of the price amount. And the taxes of the lottery ticket made by government at the time of withdrawal to bank. It’s around 30 percentage of money to government. Which not the acceptable one. People who are trading in India need to pay taxes for it. So totally government of India should not do such things. So with the rule book, government of India to allow the people to earn some crypto trading without any additional money.
