Hi,

I’m looking to invest 10k, I’m trying to decide if to go with XRP or ADA.

In terms of holding I can do it for 1-3 years no real time limit. Not sure what returns I might get short term vs long term. ADA for example i might get 3 to 4 x return, however with XRP that might be a lot more should they win the court case.

My slight worry is what happens if XRP lose.

10k is not a small amount. 10k in my opinion is a big investment. Investing that much money in one token is very risky. So I think you should break down the amount and invest in a few coins to minimize the risk of losing the money.

but if it's on another coin it's clear you will get more, but I really agree to do a good analysis before placing it.
because if you want to analyze at CMC, there will be lots of altcoins that are very potential and worthy of investment [besides XRP and ADA], but I prefer to invest in just a few coins to make it easier to control them.
if you want it to be easier, in my opinion, just investing in bitcoin is even more profitable and very reliable, and remember that the upgrade period is not far off.

I remember there was a time where BTC stayed at $10k for a long time. If only OP have this amount and ask this question before, then maybe BTC is going to be his first choice because it will easily gave him 1 BTC in exchange for his money.

Time flies so fast and BTC reach more price levels and as you said, our $10k amount can only gave us that 0.32 BTC but I think that was still better than having more than 1 piece of other crypto. They are only good for displaying in our wallet but the small quantity of BTC is still the one that will gave us a massive profit. In between XRP and ADA, ADA must be better although indeed there are better coins out there than ADA.

I understand it is very important to consult people but obviously you also need to make your own decisions about them, I think the time the topic started to now has many different advantages and you will too. Make your own choices with everything. And your reach and goals with XRP and ADA I think the profit will not be difficult, but I want to share with XRP when you are quite optimistic about their ability to win, but please keep in mind that if they are still not strong enough to get past the charges with the SEC they will continue or may drop more, to me the risk and safety need to be adjusted especially for long term investment for several years, the safety factor should be a priority.

both of them are not potential altcoins, but with 10K capital and only investing in both, I think that is an unwise decision. I think it's better for us to diversify our assets according to the level of risk and reward. of course the main thing is bitcoin to maintain our mental stability so we don't get toyed with by market fluctuations, secondly there is still the king of altcoins namely ethereum, and after that I think it's up to us for example like investing in xrp and cardano. if we are good at analyzing I think there's nothing wrong with leaving a little capital ready to lose on a new altcoin, who knows we get a jackpot

bro nothing is guaranteed in crypto. we all know that current Ethereum is known safe coin so far to invest for long term but this doesn't mean that in future it will perform also same. 2-3 years is big and anything can happened. 2-3x is possible but dump is also possible. i will never recommend to invest all in one coin. we should buy all potential coin and then hope for big profit. investing in one coin could carry out to loss all fund at once which is risky. if we buy many coins then in case of bad happening in one coin our other fund will be safe.

10k in what currency because we have currency variation and that makes you 10k worth dependent on the value against the dollar, so you need to make more clarification on the currency involved so that those following up could know exactly what you are talking about.
But then also let's say you are talking of $10k it then means that you may have to make some assumptions and clarity on what exact coin to buy and how long you will hold them because most of those coins are easily pumped and dumped at some point.

Actually xrp is not good currency and you will not get good profit if you invest here. Moreover, if you had bought btc a few years ago, your money would have doubled today. Better results can be obtained from btc in future so you should invest in btc.

Obviously investing in Bitcoin and Ethereum is the safest choice,
especially for long-term investments it's really worth it and there's no doubt about it,
indeed with the current state of XRP it is quite risky to buy and hope they can win against a lawsuit from the SEC.

I think for long term investment where you mentioned 1 to 3 years it would be better to invest in Bitcoin. As per your guess if xrp wins then 3x to 4x return is possible.Also you have to think about xrp reverse, because complaint has already been filed about xrp. XRP, ADA is very good coin to invest.  But 10k is a huge amount so you can invest in bitcoin and ethereum as well as.It would not be right for you to invest so much money on only two coins,because it increases the risk.  So in addition to this you should analyze and add some more good coins.

$10k to invest in cryptocurrencies is a good decision, especially when the price of cryptocurrencies is down,
yes 2023 is still in a bearish state so $10k will probably be $100k in 2025, hopefully.
But of course the investment must be right and my advice is to avoid investing in new projects or memecoin,
it's better if you can buy altcoins with really good fundamentals and still have a market cap that isn't high or is called a medium cap.

I get that point, and it's valid. $10k investment is a good amount, and you can use other projects to invest portions of your money. There's  a good logic when investing, and if you believe that you will be able to manage to earn from those mentioned projects, then go and invest your money.

But if you think that you have some doubts or are unsure, it's better to split your money and do some deeper research before placing or deciding where to invest.
