many have advised to put more in bitcoin which makes more sense considering big share of portfolio should be all about managing risks and then seeing more volatile coins after that.

Both are pretty close to each other and there is no reason to compare the two together. I hope that people will realize that they are pretty good and they will keep on investing into these things together. I wouldn't say one is better and the other is bad, I think even if one is better than the other in both cases they are very good.

I like the fact that it is going to be pretty special in the end when we see bitcoin and ethereum going high together. well, both have the same potential. if we look at the development of the prices of these two coins from year to year, the development of these two coins is almost the same. however, sometimes the price increase starts with bitcoin, then ethereum will follow.
If you are interested in investing in one of them, then choose what suits your abilities. Personally, I've focused on ethereum, and that has given me a huge advantage. for now, I'm trying to refocus on collecting ethereum but at the same time starting to collect bitcoin with long term investment goals.

We will never know.

But I don't think that time will come and it's more likely that Ethereum will be the project that's gonna be gone out of its place if its problem will continue to exist.

That's the high transaction fee and thought of many will be finally solved with all of those upgrades that have been done in the past. However, until now sometimes it seems so high, sometimes not.

As previously stated, ETH has a problem with very high GAS Fees if you want to make some small transactions. Currently I personally prefer to use BNB or Matic network because they have smooth speed and easy to use.

For the majority of ETH users, high fees have always been a problem. To avoid paying for gas, the majority of them have changed networks and are utilizing different altcoins. Although high gas prices have consistently been a problem for Ethereum, there's no denying that it has investment potential, even though it's typically a suitable choice for long-term investments.
Users has been expecting that they could do something to lessen the fees but I think it will still take time for them to pursue it. No wonder why some altcoins are now growing and developing even better than Ethereum. When comparing just the two, Bitcoin is a clear winner here. Etherum seem to have lost it's cause. Bitcoin has a limited and smaller cap. The price of bitcoin is 15 times larger than that of Ethereum while their effective transaction cost are comparable. Bitcoin is a purely speculative coin with it's strong proof of work network, it's one of the most secure one while Ethereum aims to be a utility token while at current price, the use of it's as utility is not possible. IMO, Ethereum would lose it's place as the 2nd most valuable coin sooner than there would be any competition for bitcoin.

I don't think there's any comparison, both will give you a win after a long time either way. Generally, traders start to increase ethereum after bitcoin increases in btc/eth pairs. The increase in eth may be a little more, and sometimes they move the other bottoms. The more x Bitcoin does, the more ETH does. maybe more can vary at certain timings, which one does more x.

the thing is that there are many second layer blockchain alternative that revolves around ethereum so even if the fee was high in the ethereum main blockchain it would greatly gets assistance from these second layer solutions.
moreover the fact that these second layer solution mainly uses ethereum for paying their gas fee also helps ethereum retaining its demand until now, we are currently massively underestimating the ethereum capability of reaching yet another milestone into the future because we are more concerned about the fee, but here's the truth despite the fact that the fee might be sky rocketing, the transaction in ethereum blockchain still highly crowded, the smart contract execution is still massive, you could imagine if ethereum could somehow solve the problem regarding that, how massive ethereum will become in the future.

If we're talking about the potential to grow and develop i agree with you. But ETH beat BTC in the future? I don't think it will happen, the simple reason because everything start because of BTC so BTC will always become the respectable and the highest price coin than any others.

sorry I do not agree if you say the growth of BTC depends on the loss of faith in the regular currency because everyone buys bitcoins for investment purposes not to replace regular currency. I think investing in BTC and ETH is not much different because in fact the price of ETH and most of the altcoins follow the price of BTC. You can prove it by looking at the chart between ETH and BTC movements, you will definitely find price movements that are not much different.

Is there any estimated guess on how high Ethereum can go?
While the growth of BTC depends on the loss of confidence in regular currencies (dollar, euro..) it seems that the growth of ETH is not dependent on this.
I often hear people talk about BTC value explosion, while it seems that growth of ETH price is more gradual and linear. So basically a lower expected return on investment.

Also, after BTC surviving for more than 10 years and not even the Chinese government being able to stop it, I am quite confident it can not be stopped.

The investment I can afford right now is 1 BTC and 1 ETH.
I barely have fixed costs for the next 2 years so I can slowly stack up.
But I don't know if the same amount is better invested in let's say 0.5 BTC and 5 ETH. That will depend on growth potential and safety
Also if the government somehow finds a way to attack BTC, owning 5 ETH can compensate for the other investment that didn't work out.
I would like to diversify, but don't find many suited options to diversify in.
