Sometimes people who think they avoid it, fail to do so. What's important in a moment like that is not give up. No one should think, oh, I'm addicted gambler now, I can do nothing about it. You can, you always can. You can try to get rid of it by yourself, but if it's impossible, you can seek professional help. It works.

Yes, don't give up and keep doing it even though we know it's hard because that's the only thing we have to do to avoid excessive gambling and gambling addiction problems. However, many people have difficulty continuing to do it and cannot keep doing it. Hence, it makes them lose control of themselves and eventually become addicted to gambling. And if they are already addicted to gambling, they can still cure it by placing very strict restrictions on themselves so that they can avoid gambling and not even depend on gambling. And it is still recommended to ask for professional help to undergo the healing process.

Well, I can tell you guys that coming out from gambling addiction is even more easier than visiting or asking for a professional help, believe it or not, it's a fact.

I've always stated it here in several occasions that the easiest way at stop gambling addiction is for the addicted person to accept that he's an addict and also make up his mind to break free from gambling addiction. It's only when a gambler has made up his mind to stop his gambling addiction that he can be easily talked out of it. No matter how good a professional therapist is, it's almost impossible to help a gambling addict stop his addiction by talking to him when he's not mentally ready to quit. There's a chance for every addict to stop the addiction but that's only when he wants it to happen.

This is pretty much the key to the recovery. First addict needs to accept that they might have a problem, after that, only really wanting to take control will give control. Sure, people can do interventions and make someone realize what has he/she done, but they need to really want not to play more then wanting to gamble. It's weirdly simplistic, i know, but that's where the motivation comes.

Also rewarding self-discipline of sticking to the plan can wire your brains so that you get more dopamine rewards from self-discipline than you could from gambling. Or least you can feel so.

I've quitted booze and cigarettes by hating how the addiction has control over me. I just wanted to not smoke and drink more then i wanted to give up on those again.
Same way i got my gambling in control, i hated that i spend more than i planned. I hated the feeling even if it wasn't much.

After a while i accepted that i can't play big bets. I need to focus on reality and budget. Even if i would win big sometimes my budget couldn't handle losing more then planned. I know i am missing out some serious potential profits, but it is what it is. I get to bet bigger only after winning enough.

Agreed, gambling addiction comes from actions that are not based on the right responsibility, there are no limits that they apply because maybe all they think about is winning, or on the other hand maybe from the beginning they didn't really read about all the rules and facts that exist in gambling, so when you lose then you will not accept the results that finally you get emotional and continue to gamble with the intention of returning the defeat in the previous time, and after that you will enter the real addiction.

Considering how much of their budget they can afford to lose is one of the best responsibilities of a gambler, allocating money that will be fine if lost is very appropriate. We also know what we have to do when everything changes not according to what we expected so that we will not be affected by anything in gambling and can stop gambling before we experience problems losing money.
