And also there are few recent alts that can be beneficial in both short-long term period, depending on your interest there are several options.

when talking about altcoins I prefer to invest in top altcoins like Ethereum and BNB,
both coins are certainly beyond doubt and in the long term it will be profitable.

I agree with what ningrum said because when it comes to altcoins we need to take extra efforts to make research about them instead of relying on the market factor to male our altcoin investment decisions and it is best you concentrate on the top performing altcoins, because a good number of the new coins in the market are total scam and worthless without any future potentials.

I think it's a great idea to know the important things of the coin before doing that and there are a lot of coins that could give you profit.

But the coins I hold are big coins like ETH, BNB, and some altcoins that are getting attention from some traders. But I do not agree that altcoins are included as long-term investments because not many can survive long-term by not experiencing deep declines, even for ETH and BNB.

So if it's an altcoin, we should buy during a bear market and sell it when the market is experiencing altcoin season. And everything will depend on your analysis to find the right coin.

Agreed, 2022 saw a major crisis in the crypto market. As a result, most of the crypto investors suffered and many exited the market. Because at that time Luna Crass happened due to which many people lost all their property and some of the investors committed suicide at that time. The collapse of FTX before the end of the Luna event further exacerbated the market crisis. Investors who have endured that situation for a long time are back in a good position again. I will accept Ether as my favorite altcoin. Because it is the top rank coin among all altcoins. Thousands of smart contracts have been built using this platform and as considered the king of altcoins, it will definitely demonetize the market.

What happened recently was not a recovery, it was just a short and slight rally that made some investors and self-proclaimed experts say that the raging bull is already coming and at last, the long drought of bear market will end. I mean, why is everybody so impatient? Thinking about the upcoming bull run will certainly not help the situation because it will just make our situation worse instead of seeing this as an advantage to accumulate more coins towards our portfolio while it's still selling for a discounted price.

To be honest, I didn't did my math to know how confident am I in the middle of crisis. I'm just taking it slow while waiting patiently because even if I wanted the bull season to come and start, I can't really do it as there's a correct time and phase for that. Let's just think positive and be more cautious to our acquisition so that we won't be having any regrets soon.

I think altcoins are very poorly suited for long-term holdings, with the rare exception of those altcoins that are in the top 50. All others, within 2-5 years, stop growing and are no longer of any interest to a long-term holder. A lot of altcoins, once they reach some high bar, will never conquer it again. Altcoins are good because they allow you to make a profit in a short period of time, so you need to monitor your investments more often so as not to miss the opportunity to sell at the best possible price.

I do not have much faith on altcoins to be honest. Because let's face it, we don't need so many altcoins for our money transfer need. I believe Bitcoin and ETH are fine for now and also for the future. For trading purpose stable coins like USDT or CUSD is fine. I honestly do not use any other altcoins except these because I never needed them.

So for any other altcoins, my confidence level is practically zero because I don't see any utility in them. Technical advantage is fine, but altcoins need to have utility first.

Depends on what altcoin you are referring to. There are altcoins which are having good market price behavior in a long run; ethereum, bnb, and xrp to name a few. But ofcourse since we are talking about altcoins, this includes small and newly released projects which are often good only in short term investment. Big names are the ones which are reliable for long term holding because of these coins', development suuch as with bnb wherein their continuous release of launch pads are giving sustainance to its name.  Huge names in this industry have grown huge community of users generating demand for a  long run which gives strong resistance even with bearish market behaviors.

Depends on what altcoin you are referring to. There are altcoins which are having good market price behavior in a long run; ethereum, bnb, and xrp to name a few. One that Is noticeable recently was the Cronos (crypto.com) which they were trying to change their roadmap that includes burning tokens.

After it, the price went up. Whenever few altcoin team are updating roadmaps they are also preparing for the next bullrun. It could be that in few months, the altcoin season may also begin.

At the moment, confidence is increasing due to the fact that Bitcoin has grown. There is also a relative stabilization of the market. However, the collapse of the Luna last year restrains any significant investment in a specific token. Now I am in a state of market monitoring.

Buying altcoins seems a mandatory for me because there’s also a good opportunity with the altcoins, all you have to do is to choose the best one and you can be good too. Altcoins are mean to stay, but with regards to making profit, you should make sure that you are dealing with the good altcoins.

Sounds like a real confidence right there, but this is gonna be another case of "easier said than done". I mean, it's pretty hard to spot a good altcoin regardless of how you have done your due diligence or research let alone the "best" one. Well, not unless you're buying those that are on top 10. As far as I know, some investors who have been diversifying to altcoin, most of them are looking to have great returns with a minimal capital which kinda sound like there is a lot of risk associated in it.

I am not a financial expert nor am I a crypto expert, but as far as my experience in crypto I always pay attention to how to see the value of altcoins or bitcoins in the long term, for example maybe you have seen or heard on this forum or out there about the 4 year cycle where the bitcoin price and also altcoins always increase at that time, no matter the economic situation at that time, for example during a worldwide pandemic around 2020 and there was a lock down where I think almost all economies also went into chaos because many people were fired from their jobs or their businesses closed bankrupt due to lock down.

In 2020 the bitcoin halving occurred and at that time the price of crypto began to increase after the halving which always happens every 4 years 2020 - 2021 has been a good year in crypto almost all bitcoin and altcoin prices have increased drastically even though we know the economy in society is in chaos but they believe in investing here and taking profits, then if the FTX or LUNA problem is the reason why people don't invest in crypto, that's clearly wrong, because there are many cases of bankrupt exchange sites like mtgox and others due to being hacked, it doesn't interfere with people's trust in crypto , because crypto provides a fairly high return if we invest in the long term, but make sure the old Altcoin or trusted altcoin is part of the top 100 coinmarketcap, even though Luna failed but I am still confident that we will see the 2024 - 2025 cycle later, so invest since early stage

Well i don't consider most altcoins to be sustainable for the long period, quite a lot of them are pump and dump coins that have no actual utility, mind you also that you shouldn't listen to people when they pitch their altcoin projects to you as being good, so many of them are just selling you that idea because they also bought the coins and they want it to pump fast, so they can dump it on the next available buyer.

Having said that, due to the fact that altcoins can pump and dump pretty fast, investors can also accrue profit with them if they choose the right one, but that's almost like looking for a needle in a haystack, thus it is better not to buy now and wait until when the bull run is about to begin and then buy altcoins that begin to show positive signs, before they fully pump.

currently it seems the trend has shown that generally coins that's being released and backed by big venture capital are showing promising future, including arbitrum and sui which right now is really a thing.
investing in these altcoins in general seems to give good profit in the long run and it seems rarely got their value dumping so hard, so it's definitely essential to put these coins in our portfolio if we seek for profit.

the truth is, doesn't matter how good a coin is (of course some coin are gonna be standing out better than the other and gain massive value appreciation) it's always reliant in the movement of bitcoin in general.
therefore if you really wanna invest in altcoin, see the trend of bitcoin first, if it shows that it's about the break out and repeats bullrun, big fat chance you're gonna be good with investing in altcoins. even though many said the key is diversification, just learn from the quite recent collapses of luna, even if you diversify if the trend is bearish it completely does nothing.

In the past I was very bullish on Litecoin and I thought its fast transaction capability would have had enough for it to continue to grow in market capitalization terms/price, but I was wrong during that season, since then I try to be more careful and more conservative with the degree of confidence I may have on alternative coins and their growth potential.

For now, I feel rather optimistic on the future of Monero because how it goes all in with privacy and for this next alt season I expect it to be one of the coins which will end up being benefited by the attention of the community, after all, privacy is an important value in this community.

I would give it a 60% of confidence of important growth for next season.

Altcoins will always give you future profit and why not? Don't you even aware about how some coins were able giving you a lot of money in a short time. I think that you shall forget the story of FTX and LUNA. These projects died caused by their own mistakes.
There are so many legits altcoins in the market and you can still make a lot of money from there. Bitcoin is not even getting bullish trend.
You can also imagine once bitcoin will be starting to skyrocketing again. It will be so easy to make doubled or even tripled again.
