Hello Everyone

I used EXODUS for 3 years to exchange and send coins.

On April 13, 2023, I decided to do 9 swaps to exchange $350,942 USDT for BTC, ETH and Monero.




8 swaps out of 9 have not been executed, swap status is pending and please contact support.



I passed that damn KYC.
Providing a statement from a bank account that has already been closed, it cost me a lot of trouble to get the documents for 2021 on the account which has already been closed.
For a week, they just keep quiet, saying that the case is under review!, All requirements have been met, they refer to the rules which they themselves have invented.
If they do not return the funds I will publish the details.
While looking for all this, I found this.

Yes.
All requirements were met on May 2.
Today I wrote to support again and was again told that the case is pending.
I am not asking to complete the exchange, but to demand a refund of my money.
This is just a mockery or scam.

Even if OP see the red flags, it'll be already too late for them. I have never used exodus and all of their services before, so I can't be sure, but if OP's case is just like the one I said above with N.exchange, the users were not let know which third party exodus is using.

Before to make a swap Exodus tells you that operation is going to be performed by some 3d party but they do not let you accept some 3d party terms and they do not name directly exchange which will perform the operation:

If you get ignored, consider posting in more places as well. Exodus seem to care about their rep and could help put pressure on n.exchange. For instance, there's r/bitcoin and twitter. [...]

or try to get in touch with bvg96634, you both has a quite identical situation, just a different 3rd party. Maybe he can give you a suggestions on how he got out of the situation.

It seems Exodus is not good at picking the right exchange to integrate with their wallet, this is the second time and the first complainant took 52 long days to recover his Bitcoin with so many documents submitted.
I'm a long-time user of Exodus I like that they always updated their wallet and I've seen a lot of improvements in their interface and security, it's just that they are not good at picking a third-party exchange and this will definitely harm their reputation.
I also recommend keeping in touch with the Exodus support team they are quick to respond, I'm also hoping that your issue will be resolved, it's hard to be a user of a wallet with an ongoing issue.

The way I see it they have no reason to delay transaction for this length of time and furthermore, if they decide to go down the AML/KYC route (as an excuse to indefinitely hold on to funds without returning them) then basically nobody should trust them.

The only time you should send KYC to an exchange is if they are 100% reputable and you are sure they will never sell your KYC/AML data on the black market to international criminals and scammers. If you are looking to receive fiat in to your bank then clearly exchanges have to enforce KYC therefore it is reasonable to send KYC to them for AML purposes.

I have some recollection of downloading Exodus (and Coinomi) to see what they were like but cannot recall using them therefore I will not be able to vouch for either unless I download and test them. Like you, what I will say about Exodus is that I am not impressed with them for selecting partners that have some sort of bad reputation.

If this situation were to continue maybe the number of complaints against them here will increase but even then I see no reason why Exodus would be interested in addressing the issue.

You'd need to reveal your country for people to suggest. It'll also be easier if you're in the same place as the company you're suing.

Otherwise, you could probably find directories thru search engines. Some places have bar associations where you could get a referral as well. At the very least, I'd say you should get someone who's familiar with crypto/isn't hostile with it.

He might be able to find a lawyer who will fight the case for him on the basis he will only get paid if he wins. It is worth searching around because lawyers could be open to making arrangements if they are almost certain they will win. Again, as you mentioned it is about the country he is located in and also which country the case will be heard.

Please suggest attorneys who can sue them and recover damages from them.
