This is unethical and should be discouraged merit was not created to monetize and make a profit it is given to users who has good contribution it is a way of appreciating a user, even begging or asking for merit is not allowed merit flow should be natural, you can only move up or level up your rank based on merits you've accumulated, if you buy merits to rank up you don't deserve your rank and you only buy your way up, its disgracing.

Exactly. Don’t be pressured on getting merits as it will come to you easily when you’ve gained sufficient knowledge and experience on the threads given. Instead, motivate yourself to learn more about the various topics in the forum and stay patient and passionate on what you are doing, that will help you a lot to rank up your position especially when other members have seen your genuine intention to contribute in the forum. Otherwise, if you resort into making shortcuts and buy merits from other members, you are just deceiving yourself. Merits are earned through hardwork and determination, and not easily bought just to rank up and brag your high position.

What exactly do you need merits for? If you have in mind that after you buy merits from someone whatever the deal is and think you can join campaign later on then it's totally wastage of time because managers will also evaluate your post history which will tell the posts are not worth it so what's the fun behind it? The system was implemented to prevent spam posters but if you somehow get it by paying for it you didn't gain anything with enhancement in your knowledge.

You are newbie here just exploring different threads is what you should focus on and when you write some quality stuff or even something useful like asking some good doubts also then you will get merits your way which is the best not to follow any such advice of whosoever is convincing you to buy merits.

Op merits is not for sale but it is gotten free from other users who see your post worthy to merit. There are some people that give merits to a quality post and in other times that person that received merits from the user might also give merits the other user again if he found the post is quality to be merited. And that is not merits trading.
Op are you thinking of buying merits? You better restrict from the plan if you are thinking of it. It is not a good habit in the forum.

The best way, in my opinion, is to learn and do his own research regarding cryptocurrency and stuff that is related to it because this is what the community is all about. Then he can create first in their local board with some clear explanations and make his fellow countrymen what's really going on recently. Because nowadays, preventive measures are trending for them not to make it hard for themselves to go to other boards of the forum; he can make it convenient for them to translate it in their own language and make it presentable to the readers in or clearly warn them about new scammers tricks or new Ponzi Schemes that are emerging recently.

I believe you have said it all because there's no reason for anyone to buy merit since we have a merit source that can easily give out merit to any user of the forum they please but I think there's some misconception from some forum users about users that frequently send merit to themselves which is understandable because I once have the misconception about the Thick-Skinned Gang when merit was first to introduce before I later know that when a user is relevant on this forum and also make a good contribution they easily earn merit.

Merit is something that when sent from a profile, does not minus 1 merit from that profile. And when a profile gets 2 merits then automatically 1 sendable merit is generated in that profile. and this merit is not allowed to be bought or sold.  DT members may give negative tag if it is found that someone is involved in Merit buying/selling. because the purpose of merit system is to recognize the knowledgeable members in the forum and to protect the value of each rank in the forum. so there is no chance to change the rank of someone's account by merit buy/sell

It is already mentioned in previous posts in this thread that buying and selling merits is frowned upon in this forum or you can say prohibited or not allowed to do so since it will defeat the purpose why the merit is created.

It really does depend on the quality of the member's post if it is worth to give merit or not. The only thing I can say is that those newbies that didn't get merit means that they didn't focus on contributing to the forum that's why they didn't get merits. That's what happen to newbies if they focus on getting merits.

Simply because that will not be your asset and that will not make you knowledgeable and become significant member in the forum. Merits are only given to those who deserve it, and not to be bought since your worth and quality will never be bought in the first place.

You can't really say that with enough proof if you really have evidence about that you could post your accusation here in the forum you tag this member since buying merits could destroy and defeat the purpose of the merit system.

For sure it is not allowed here in the forum, you're just going to ruin your account if you're caught buying merits, your gonna get a red tag from other members here in the forum. And you're just going to waste your money if you're going to do that it just wasn't going to make sense, you don't really need it since merits can easily earn by doing a quality post and you're just risking your account if you do it. You maybe right, but I want you to know that some newbie make a quality post but it will not be merited but when some who is influential make such kind of post it will be merited why? Of course, every member mustn't sell or buy their merits, it is actually not a proper way. It is unfair to get merits without any effort, people get merits because of their contribution and the quality of their posts. It is the only way to get merits, buying merits can be categorized by cheating the merit system.

It is obviously clear that the forum moderator has forbidden the sale or purchase of merits. You can see that if it is allowed, it will discourage forum members because they can easily gain them and won't be serious about making good contributions. Merits are earned when you generate solid content that is worth it. However, someone who is aware of how the forum's merit system functions will undoubtedly put forth a lot of effort and make valuable contributions so that we can reward them. Just picture a novice purchasing merits. They won't take the time to thoroughly research bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, in my opinion.

However, OP, if buying or sending merits is permitted, you will see many people with a lot of them in the past 120 days. But since it is difficult to earn merits, even if you intend to do so, which is why you thought to ask first, I believe you should ignore this and concentrate on the main reason you came to the forum and learn the necessary skills. Merit, in all honesty, will follow later.

I wouldn't say it's control, it's frown upon, and that's why the merit system is introduced in the first place, to curb out those spammers. And then they resort to buying merits. But when they are caught, then it's double whammy for them as they lost their money and then the account itself.

And for those who are caught selling their merit, there is also the risk that your account being red tag here.

So the best practice is not to go to this buying of merits, but just work hard in this community and for sure you will be recognized.

Merits are given freely and to encourage its distribution or for there to be enough to go round, discourage its sales and encourage quality posting, some prominent and active users were made merit sources and depending on its need as it appeals to Theymos, the number of merit sources are increased based on credible applications. This rearly happens though.
We even have merit regarding threads created by some users and merit sources to ensure people gets appreciated for there efforts and so, trading shouldn't be the case.

Hence, if you gind yourself in the position of having the need to buy merits, your apparently not doing well in your posting and hence the need to improve.

There are some users cannot extend their patience to earn this and they want to fasten up the process to rank up because they like to join on signature campaign as fast as they can. They didn't realize the risk to lose some money since as we all know thus is heavily been discourage and not advisable to be done by anyone. New users could just research for helpful topics and contribute it here and with that they can earn merits from other user who think they brought up some good information in this community.

Permit me explain to  clearly to you I advise you not to exchange money for merit as it goes against the rules of Bitcointalk and can lead to significant difficulties for you. You focus on expanding your knowledge. When you create good contant and share valuable knowledge with other members that they like and find beneficial you will naturally earn merit.
