How about have the mental strength and willpower to say no! If you are single and still in your 20s where your decisions don't affect the lives of others that much, it's not that big of a deal. You are only doing harm to yourself. If you have a family and kids who look at you as their superhero, start acting like one, at least when it comes to knowing good from bad. Your actions impact those around you in so many ways. 

I've been in your situation before, and it sucks to bet your last card on a game that will result in a loss at the end of the day. Most gamblers have become addicted because they spend the majority of their time looking for games to stake their money on, and this is especially noticeable in young adults. And that's true, few may take the advice and change the direction of their gambling involvement while the majority will ignore and will proceed and continue what they've thought is better for them, something that we can only provide our opinions and there's nothing that we can do about it, that's their money and they are free to do whatever they think might give them the entertainment and the possibility of having some decent profits if luck permits them to win.

For a gamble not to know when to stop gambling is tied to the fact that he or she feels that they can make huge earnings from gambling and that to win is a must for them which is not suppose to be so. Gambling is a very tricky act that needs to be kept in check at always because the moment you allow it turn an addiction I can bet you it can take a whole lifetime to stop such ill behavior and it can destroy all your years of hard work in just a split second when you are drown in that feeling of lost.

Most of the time people start gambling as a form of entertainment. This is true, but when timepass automatically people start to concentrate on earning out of their gambling activities. The lucky part, gambler wins and withdraw the winning. The negative part money lost and running behind to recover what one have lost through gambling. It is the time when a gambler should have self control to limit spending. Take a break and think how fast he/she had lost funds. Only through loss real understanding of gambling experienced. Further limiting the loss or just go bankrupt is one's own choice.

Set the limit to the budget. I reckon people should have a budget set for entertainment or money set for expenses you'd use to spend for yourself, take a small amount from that instead of separating it.

It might also be useful to read self-exclusion terms in a casino, maybe try to put it in a easy to access button like bookmarks (or anything if you have something easier and faster).

Lastly, don't be dumb enough to chase for wins/losses. Just take what you can get imo. It's not a job, sure you can feel frustrated if you lose but limit it to that.

These are really good tips, especially the one about staying away from drink and drugs, or any intoxicant is important. Even the stimulation from something like the caffeine in coffee or coca cola can be bad for you - even if you get hyper focused at the start, this could lead to mistakes or you could even get a sugar crash later, it's better to keep a balanced demeanor throughout your playing session. You should definitely limit the total overall time that you spend on this activity as well, even if you are taking breaks, because it's super easy to lose concentration (thinking of poker) so better to limit yourself to 3-4 hour sessions, go get some fresh air or simply do something else with the rest of your day.

being single because the only thing that can be felt usually facing defeat is that the only person affected by what he or they did and everyone knows that.

If you leave the observation to chance and personal control you may end up being defeated and being unable to control your gambling habits,  the best possible formula to use is to try to set a stop time on your gaming session,  that way,  you allocate a specific time and once that time is exhausted, then ther will no choice than to take a break from gambling.

it should also reasonable in setting a budget that is not huge you should not using percentage on it you should set like $50 and you family should aware on it so that they can check on you time to time . If in physical casino you should only bring cash and not card and just enough money for your budget for playing. While I agree with all of it, I must say that having some drinks while doing almost anything just makes things better, specially with friends. It enhances the experience, but makes it very easy to spend more than one has planned in the budget.

So one of my recommendations would be to only take the money of the budget to the casino if one plans to drink alcohol or accept drinks provided by the house, so in case one lose some control over the decision making capabilities, still there will be no money to gamble beyond the budget. Leave credit cards and jewelry at home.

I understand your point mate but we also knew that most gamblers(those who are literally gambled) are mostly the type of person that cannot hold their eagerness.

The problem is humans don't get satisfied.  Whether it is entertainment, or other things, people want more if it benefits them or feels good for them.  If people have control then we can't see any crimes or whatsoever.  It is the nature of humans to be greedy  it shows how gambler aimed to win more even though he is already winnings until he got busted and start chasing losses.

I personally find it very difficult to control this one. sometimes have tried to control the allocation to play. but when I enjoy the game too much, even though the balance in the account has run out, it seems like there is a feeling of curiosity to get the win. and finally forced me to deposit a little more to prolong the game.

loosing out on a game is a very bothersome act, some people tend to fall into depression afterwards because the gamble more than the can afford to loose probably out of greed.

Build a cycle of friends that can be loyal to you, go out with them 1ce in a while, every loose can be restored if you play your card well, no need falling into depression.
