For Nigerians (and other people) that are using imgur for uploading images on Bitcointalk, it is no longer working. Not only that, also that most of the images that we have uploaded before are no more showing. To solve that, read the posts on this thread:

Running a code like this on your browser can make a hacker to take over your computer, but it is from a trusted member on this forum no complain from other forum users and I believe it is legit.

Uploading images on https://www.talkimg.com/ is easy. Even works when using Tor or Orbot.

I don read weti TryNinja tok there I even make comment, but I most tok di truth, Charles-Tim I no understand anything there, so please u fit make di thing clear for us here make we also try the code. When I tried it with Android phone, the thing no work for me so I come drop the matter because e dey stress me. Weti dem dey do na beta something. As imgur no gree work again, dem come do another image uploader only for di forum so we no go get issue. I tank dem well well.

Visit Bitcointalk on your browser and copy that code on the OP,  click on F12 on your computer key board, or click on Ctrl+Shift+I instead. I used F12. You will see Console. Run the code on the console.


On Android,

For those who want to run this script on android device can use Eruda browser to do so. Click three dot browser at top right >> run code >> paste script in console.

Since plenty people e don tok about the thing, e be like sae im go dey good. Dis few days sef imgur sef come dey worry like weti I no no. Yeso oga kpatakpata sef e don tok am sae make we dey use am. Okay thank you big man, but i mean for Agbe to understand those codes that was why i said him fit still use that one i share here.
Na just now i dey explore this new one with my lapi and i come even like am self because e smooth and pure for eyes pass those other sites them. Na just to understand those coding be the problems here but no issues as much as say we dey fit access the finished point no need to worry about the Dev stage. Sincerely speaking, using mobile phone to they explore this forum no sweet at all because e get how the forum be using phone, as i login to my lapi things come easy for me to dey read self pass phone.

We go try the new created site by joker_josue to see how good and friendly e de.

Same with me, I have tried imgur on two occasions and I have never been able to successfully used it to upload an image, so I just stick with imgbb.com and so far I have not had any difficulty. I have also tried talkimg.com developed by one of our very own bitcointalk developer joker_josue and I'm really impressive with the site, it's working well, the user interface is nice and it doesn't have any intrusive ads and I hope it stays that way.

You can use kiwi browser too. It's much more reputed than one I mentioned. One thing to note, Eruda works in background, kiwi doesn't.

Fellow android user. You can use this script too using  your mobile phone by installing Kiwi browser. Kiwi browser has a developer feature which allows you to run this script same as using the desktop browser. You just need to make your phone screen on while the script is running to make it continuously running. It will pause when you put the browser in the background or your phone sleep.

Important notice:

Since there is a risk (?) of imgur deleting images today, I decided to add ImgBB as a image provider while TalkImg is under maintenance.

Just change the field "provider" at the top to "imgbb" (IMPORTANT: ALL LOWERCASE) and add your account's API key just a few lines below (providers -> imgbb -> apiKey).

@ Charles-Tim thank God say people like una dey for we local board to put us through for issues like this. If not many of us no for understand how to upload image again for here,since imgur choose to fuck our style up. As I read the thread yesterday about imgur error,once na e I go delete the app from my phone. I don understand your explanation and make I put am into practice because for this place na everyday na e,we dey learn something new.

Imgur bbcode images has been restored. All images are now valid without no error again.

I was about to update my thread by replacing the broken imgur images, but found out that all of them have been restored. Seems imgur guys have realized that most of their users are from bitcointalk and reddit. I hope there will be no change again on imgur so it saves my time to update all of the unrestored images for my clients. However I prefer to use talkimg instead, at least for now, to avoid double effort if someday imgur makes another joke in future.

I think this is no more needed.

It looks like imgur is no longer blocking the image proxy. I didn't change anything on the forum's end, so imgur must've loosened up their limits. I guess it's not necessary to convert img images into links as long as imgur keeps working. But to prevent this from happening again, you'll get an error if you try to embed imgur images in posts from now on.

I'd like to create a page which recommends services for hosting forum images, and mention this in the error message you get when you try to use imgur. Other than TalkImg, which ones are good?

What jayce said is the best way to go about it for now. Me I have already made up my mind that I am not using imgur image uploader again because what will happen in the future might even worst than this. I will also prefer using TalkImg for all my image uploading. And since Talkimg. com creator is even a member of the forum, it make things easier because he here with us to communicate how he will fix any error occurred in the future. Whether imgur has been restored or not I am not going to use it again.

But even while imgur was at it longer head, bitcointalk members have varieties of alternatives to choose from and one that was specifically developed by Bitcoin Talk members to serve the purpose of image uploads.

So I guess it was not too much of a hustle, but then it is good we have the discussion here in case of future repetition of such glitches from the image hosting sights, you can have alternatives to choose from.
