How to stop gambling addiction?

For those who have a real problem with addiction of any kind, including gambling, the only real help is to seek professional help. This usually refers to help in the form of professional psychologists, who of course are not cheap, but I have noticed that there are more and more free phone supports for those who feel that they are becoming addicted.

However, I think that people should be influenced at a young age so that they know how to face such problems if they find themselves in them, but also everyone should be able to recognize when someone has such a problem and try to help them. Society tends to marginalize such people, but this is completely wrong, because the problem is not only in someone's addiction, but also in the influence of these people on our everyday life.

A true "gambler" is never going to quit. They're always going to have the urge. It starts to not even be about money at a certain point, you are just chasing the high you felt on your 1st big win.

I agree with you. When everything is still logical and can still manage finances. Gambling is still a fun activity to fill boring time. But it's not complete if  haven't got maxwin. when looking for maxwin a lot of money lose, and become a gambling addict

I just thought the money that I allocated was enough, so every time I lose, I will increase my bet times two, which at first is working, but later on it is getting bigger and bigger until I lose it all. No matter how small your bet is or how big your budget is, as long as you keep chasing your losses, you'll lose more.

I also initially had success by increasing the bet. But it didn't work in the next try. The more often I raise the bet, the more money I lose. I had stopped gambling when my money ran out.

But apparently it wasn't 100%, when I started collecting money, suddenly I tried to play gambling again. And I spend the money that I lose in a day to play gambling. That's so bad. I'm back in gambling.

This year I am practicing to control my finances. Play only with small bet with 10% income. Hopefully I don't get emotional and lose logic when playing gambling. maybe stopping playing gambling is hard, but I'm trying to manage it

As for professional help, I haven't tried it. Maybe when I fail to manage my finances again, I will choose this option. Thank you friend

That's because noone uses the search feature and people want to hit their post quota for the week, so they make a new thread where they can answer people over and over and help get that quota.

I actually mentioned this before that there exists this "gambler's cycle" where an addict suffers the endless cycle of chasing their winnings only to end up with more losses.

I didn't notice that you already mentioned that in your previous comment on the topic, but chasing a particular direction for long will only lead to more of recurrent loses and this is something that most gamblers try very hard to fight against to avoid the early stage of adductions, but then some are still caught up in all of this dramas.

Some casinos too have helped with the development of some strategies that help gamblers avoid such situations such as the stop-loss feature on exchanges or the self-exclusion on casinos these are all aimed at helping gamblers to avoid any possibility of falling uncontrollable behaviours.

The only real way to stop is find a hobby or a girl/man to fill your time, but even then the urge will come again at some point.

I totally agree with you, because having a partner and partner also supports us to stop, we will stop soon even though there are stages.
and I feel it because before marriage I could be said to have actively played gambling, especially traditional gambling games, and after marriage because I have an important need for my wife and also my future goals, this has made me stop gambling. And to be more precise, I stopped when I had my first child because of the growing need. And before that I still gamble occasionally and even then I use online gambling which I do on Saturdays after I'm tired of working, and even then with a small capital that I can afford to lose.
