I don't even know if the joy of escaping relegation is equivalent to the join of being in the top 4. We all know how frustrating it is to play in the championship. Once you visit them once, the possibility of returning there becomes high, if I am lying, ask Leicester city. I also think that the struggle of returning to EPL from there is even more difficult, if it is easy, teams like WestBrom, Watford, Norwich, shelfied united/wednesday would have all returned.

This explains why relegation teams become so powerul towards the end of the season. Everyone wants to remain in the EPL to try their luck next season just to still remain in the highest league in England.

I think a big club like Tottenham would quickly get out of the Championship even if they got there. But I'd be curious to know something else: do Tottenham players have a clause in their contracts that allows them to leave the club (perhaps even for free or with minimal compensation) if the club loses its place in the Premier League? It seems to me that the presence of such a clause is logical because none of the ambitious and big players wants to lose a year (without guarantees) to regain their status.

Arsenal are really going for it I guess! I know there is still a missing match to be played by Manchester City. It's not a tough match as well which is against Crystal Palace at Etihad.
I can bet you that Manchester City Match against Crystal Palace is not going to be an easy match for City to win. If you consider what Crystal Palace played Tottenham on their last encounter, you will know that Manchester City need to buckle up in that match else I will not be surprised to see Crystal Palace collecting the three points. Even though Manchester City wins the match, that does not stop Arsenal from winning the league, they just need at least a draw with Manchester City and they are the Champions.

If any match is going to be a problem of Pep's Man City, it's not going to be Crystal Palace, if it was Crystal Palace of the beginning of the season or the prior season, I would be uneasy for them but Crystal Palace after the sales of there players especially Guehi, there has been an unsatisfaction from Glasner and it is showing in his performance, check there performances and you will see the regression, I was even surprised for there win against Tottenham
This was how everyone was saying about the match between Manchester city and Nottingham Forest. Everyone was saying it would be an easy match for Manchester city, that they are sure that Manchester city is going to win Nottingham forest but that did not happen at the end, the match ended in draw when it comes to Premier league matches don’t underestimate any team even though in their worst performance they can still challenge the bigger teams it happens constantly in premier league, this match may surprise everyone Crystal Palace may prove stubborn and then end up winning Manchester city or drawing the match again with them just like Nottingham Forest did. I will not come here and say the match will be an easy one for Manchester city because it may end up not being an easy one.

I understand the importance of the Champions League too of course. But in the end there is no way Tottenham are becoming the champions there.  Tongue

Therefore they had better shift their focus on the Premier League as much as possible from now on. Otherwise they have a much higher chance to relegate this season.

Tottenham still believe that they are going to win the champions League same way it happened for them in the Europa League when they were not performing well in the league and who knows what you think is impossible could be possible with Tottenham so they should keep focusing on the champions League so that if they do not win it they would go and meet Leicester City in the championship if they end up being relegated.

It's too late for Tottenham to realize their mistakes and they to come back from where they are, they have few more games before the end of the season I don't think they are improving soon because right now nothing is working in the team they should just go to relegation and start all over.

Yes, Tottenham would be better off focusing on the Premier League than the Champions League, as they are currently in a precarious position and facing relegation. Furthermore, Tottenham, currently in 16th place, are only one point above the relegation zone. With nine matches remaining, Tottenham must perform well and collect as many points as possible to avoid relegation.

Joao Pedro really deserves the respect for his recent form... He isn't naturally a scorer or striker I should say. But at Chelsea he has turned into a different player!

As long as he contributes to the score like this I don't see any problem with using him as the main forward of this team.

I can bet you that Manchester City Match against Crystal Palace is not going to be an easy match for City to win. I wouldn't recommend you to consider it like Manchester City and Tottenham are similar teams this season. Because they are far away from each other. One is fighting for the title while the other is trying not to relegate.  Wink

Of course, there should ordinarily be a release clause for many of the Tottenham players which is usually referred to as the relegation clause in their contracts which allows them to easily leave possibly with a minimal fee or even for free if the club were regulated. This is kinda a standard clause for players with ambitious career goals and this makes me to recall when I was working for a football agency back in those days, I would come across something like a relegation clause which was already ensured in the bargain for the agency's players as they would not want to risk losing out on playing in the Premier League for an extended period of time although this is also dependant on the individual player's contracts and how best the player is able to negotiate with the club or sought of.

The Champions League they will be facing Atletico Madrid who will come at them heavily, Simeone should be gone by the end of the season so he will not want to lose so early against Tottenham, we can just have it that, Tottenham will be knocked out already.

The management brought in a manager with no atom of experience in the Premier League, how do they expect him to cope, they should lock in and hope they win the next few games ahead. They have lost too much. Can not afford to be relegated

Joao Pedro had always the main Striker in the Chelsea team even while Maresca was the Manger of the project, remember the Club World  Cup run. Hope he doesn't drop form, what got to me was that yesterday match where after he was subbed in that late, he was still able to score a goal.

Honestly Chelsea doesn't even have a choice, it's either him or Delap and I think we all know the answer.

However even if they win that one the gap with Arsenal still stays at 4 points... There are 8 weeks left for Arsenal. Including a match against Manchester City away...

I think that match might be the decider for Arsenal to finish this. Smiley

Arsenal is doing everything they can in order to win the Premier League this season, though many people were blaming Arteta for playing a defensive game against Brighton after the early goal advantage. Perhaps they knew what Brighton were capable to do at home, which is why they had to defend the three points to maintain the lead over Manchester City. Even though Arsenal win the Premier League with their performance, they deserve it since they have been going for it for the last three seasons now.

However, Manchester City against Crystal Palace is not going to be as easy as you think, I remember the last time Palace beat Manchester City in the beginning of the season. Palace seems like they are coming back to their winning ways, Manchester City may win the match, but it will be a tough match for them.

They really deserve it, trying to win the league title in three seasons and failing must have been really disappointing for them. I can't remember the last time they won the premier league title, it has been ages. They are grabbing hold of this opportunity they have and they are not planning to mess it up.

They won't even go far like that because when you look at Tottenham they will start we'll and then end everything with disappointment and this is why you don't even have to call them a big club because they are always full of disappointment, and no matter what the contract might be, the club is not even helping and I don't even know why players are accepting to play for them they would have gone to a better club that will help them build a better career instead of wasting there time with Tottenham, because they won't get any meaningful thing from playing for Tottenham.

Yes, Tottenham would be better off focusing on the Premier League than the Champions League, as they are currently in a precarious position and facing relegation. While we talk about Tottenham Hotspur as a disappointment we should also know that they use to be a big and a very strong team just that they have been so unlucky in few seasons now but one thing I know is that, it will be very hard for Tottenham Hotspur to go to relegation even if it is a point they will definitely use it to escape and again Tottenham Hotspur is among the teams that don't go to relegation anyhow and it definitely can't be this season but they really need to buckle up.

I have never seen a team as bad as Tottenham in the Premier League right now, Wolves that are sitting in the last position of the Premier League, looks more like a better team than Tottenham, honestly speaking if Tottenham keeps playing this bad and loosing games every week they might end up getting relegated from the Premier League, Now I have to believe that Tottenham aren’t a very good team, they obviously looks like a mess right now with the way they are playing football, they signed so many players in the summer transfer window and it’s looking like nothing have changed, and I think Daniel Levy was one of the People that destroyed Tottenham before leaving the club like he did in the summer.
Tottenham hotspur is not doing well after having a lot of signing in the transfer window. But they unable to perform good and make a significant place for them. And I think it's nothing but a great negligence that they failed to manage a position where people can expect a good thing from them. I personally don't understand that why their all signings are failed and they did not have anything good. Because when they seem active in transfer market it was expected that now they are dedicating to get a deserving place. But after all this what happened they should focus on this issue that which things are responsible for this bad position of the team due to which they are unable to get a stable place. Because its easy to sort out if once they can underline the issue.
Crystal Palace football team won the match against Tottenham Hotspur football team and one player was match changer who did back to back two goals in this match and he was Sarr and he did his first goal at 40 minutes of the match and that goal was at penalty and tried to level the score and opponent team did first goal of the match. Solanke was a person who did first goal of the match and he did this goal at 34 minutes of the match. Sarr did third goal of the match and he did this goal at 52 minutes of the match. Crystal Palace team points were 38 on the table and Tottenham Hotspur football team points are 29 on the table. Crystal Palace team has 13 position on the table and Tottenham Hotspur team has 16 position on the table .

It's currently just one point that Tottenham is using to escape being among the clubs going for relegation, just as you have said, they really need to sit up and do much better than they have been doing already because what you said about them being one of the strongest club with the strongest team in the premier league is actually true..

I may not be right or maybe I am right, I can't remember well whether it was in this season or the last season that Tottenham was sitting right in the top 4 clubs by points but all of a sudden, they start losing their games, dropping points and ended up in the same place with lower ranked clubs. One thing with football is what every club, team will always have their own season, some people who lack knowledge of how things like this works may think that it's absolutely over for Tottenham, but same person's may come back by the next season to see that the same club they said it was over with is the one sitting at the top of the league table, this is what makes football game really interesting because sometimes, it's really hard to predict possible outcomes easily.

I wonder why you people are categorising Tottenham as a big team, they are just an average team that sometimes gives headaches to the big teams just like other average teams. You can't have one or 2 good seasons and automatically be called a big team. It has always been the big 4 in every elite league in Europe that we know, in England it's been Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool when I started watching football back then, Manchester City had a new owner they got serious and replaced Liverpool. Personally, I still feel there is something you have to do as a team consistently before you can be considered a big team and so far Tottenham isn't even in the mix of these other team and I'm wondering why some of us keep saying they are a big team.

This is really funny I don’t think Tottenham themselves believe this, they might be thinking it .., What If? But realistically they know it’s not possible both them and their fans should shift their mind towards retaining their place in the premier league. Their next game in the UCL is against Bayern, what are the odds of them winning over Bayern or can they even win any leg?…
They’ve done well so far in the UCL qualifying straight away into the top eight is no small feat in the new champions league format

That is how it looks for ever top team falling but it’s not that easy sometimes when you fall, the likes of Newcastle and Aston Villa actually did have a taste of that. Can we talk about how Stock city and Sunderland were actually a good side before their fall that made man of us thought thinks they would actually get back immediately.

Present day Tottenham isn’t as good as bolton and QPR of those years and when they fell it has been had for them to get out. One of the other examples are Nottingham Forest who have European trophy just as Tottenham but took a while before they could get back. Leeds also had similar history too.

So honestly Tottenham needs to avoid anything relegation, the current players will leave because in think there id a clause on their contracts for reduced wages last I read and if that’s actually true then I don’t think there is any serious player staying and with Tottenham losing some sponsors after the fall it will be hard for them to actually get those high profile players back

I wouldn't recommend you to consider it like Manchester City and Tottenham are similar teams this season. Because they are far away from each other. One is fighting for the title while the other is trying not to relegate.  Wink
Let's not also forget those who give him assist to make him score these bangers, it's a really good performance and he is the best striker in primer league as of now.

I really don't know if it's better he should be a starter or a super sub.
But I do feel that a super sub will be better, but he should be subbed in earlier. Delap should also have a chance to play as well and also get better, so jp will not be able to play full time,if it his Goals would have been more that this no doubt

Arteta need to do everything possible to achieve the victory this season and win the Premier League title, nothing can stop that if they can continue performing well in the league title and other. Manchester City is the club that is chasing them in the league and with how am seeing I don't think Manchester City can get the opportunity to overtake Arsenal anymore this season and they can get the chance to win the Premier League this season. Let see how the competition will ends or Guadiola will top the league since they still have some games to play in the league competition and anything can probably be possible.

Mind if I ask why club you’re supporting? Tottenham haven’t been title contenders in the last four years so I don’t know what you’re on about. I have found there is a double standard amongst premier league fans, when it’s Tottenham they find it reasonable for them to be loud, but when it’s Arsenal they tag it as arrogance. If Arsenal won the Europa last season and are performing this poorly, we wouldn’t hear the end of it.
I can't even remember the last time that this Tottenham of a team was a title pretender, I really can't remember. Seriously, I won't even take a team seriously as a title contender if they are 10 or more points behind the team in the first place while been second. Again I'm even wondering why some of us still considers Tottenham as a top team when they have failed over the years to prove they are a top team in the league. I don't think it's hypocrisy, I think it's because Arsenal is way more than Tottenham and both teams can't be compared domestically. If it in the European stage then no problem but domestically, Arsenal and Tottenham are not mates as Arsenal is miles ahead of them that's why it's not always loud if Tottenham misbehave compared to Arsenal.
