It is true we can only help those that want to help themselves, and this is true not only in gambling but in life in general, we see this here when a newbie comes to this forum and wants to invest in a coin that is an obvious scam and forum members try to help them out and suggest they do not do it, but since those newbies believe this is the way to make a lot of money they refuse to listen the advice that we give them, only to lose their investment and come to the forum to tell the story of their failure.

If someone is really hooked on gambling and doesn't want help, it's often better to let them be.
They might not realize the value of assistance. On the other hand, if someone wants to change and gamble more responsibly, even a little support can make a big difference.

You are right, but I still insist that gambling for fun remains gambling for fun, whoever used to gamble for fun and after some time, turns around to become addicted out of chasing for money, then it simply means that such a person never indeed made up their mind to only gamble for fun.

Using myself as an example, I've been gambling for a couple of years now, I've never taken gambling to heart to want to ever chase after my loses, I have in a couple of times made mistakes and lost money i never intended losing, and after feeling down for some time, I pick up myself and keep moving, I never allowed such a loss to be a reason for me to want to start range gambling in a bid to recover my lost money.

I think that setback is a better thing to do as an effective way of preventing you from always suffering from the same pressure as when you were overdoing it in the past. I think with that action then obviously their level of expectation in terms of getting a big win will definitely decrease, or I mean they will not put too much hope because the amount of their budget allocation is now smaller and with that I think they will also understand that the percentage of big wins is like very unlikely to get.

Just like I already mentioned in one of the thread that have a similar title to this one on how to exit gambling addictions and how it is better to avoid getting hit by addiction since getting out is not an easy task for the addicts but it is better to protect yourself from sliding into addictions at some point.

A lot of gamblers have become uncontrollably addicted and this has resulted in a lot of negative outcomes in their life and how they relate to their immediate environments,  such that some have run bankrupt even though it could been easily avoided such outcome.

If we continue to indulge in gambling then we will not be able to manage the risks in gambling, the reactions of winning and losing as you mentioned above have an impact on behavior that is not recommended in gambling because if you win you will chase other wins and if you lose you will add more money to can recover losses on the next bet, if you always do these activities it will result in gambling addiction and the solution is to apply limits on the use of funds to limit gambling activities, if you are lucky to get a win or jackpot then it is better to stop betting to withdraw all the funds, if you bet again tomorrow then use funds according to the limit for daily gambling.

If a gambler gets too addicted to gambling then he should quit gambling at that time but if we can keep our control over gambling and keep our profit and loss then I don't think gambling is harmful for us. I am not addicted to gambling but choose gambling only as a fun and alternative site for income. yep, you managed to understand what I said and all this is just about how the family tries and how the gambler tries to recover from his addiction and if he has a strong desire he will continue to respect whatever his family suggests and I remember a closer example of a friend I was addicted to drugs and in prison when he was released from prison he realized his bad habit of using drugs and finally he had a commitment to recover and told his family to help cure his addiction and asked his family for help if he did the wrong thing and had to be reminded.

In the scenario that I am telling you, this could be an example for gambling addicts. If they already have the awareness to stop their addiction, it would be better to ask for help from the family, tell me honestly and I am quite sure that no matter how bad it is, the family will be happy to provide help.

You are wrong,  gambling addiction destroys the brain, if you don't know, you should know now.
Anybody in their normal self can think, come up with healthy ideas of what they can do to make money, like a business, a job or anything that is completely legitimate.

But a gambling addict, who is short of money to gamble can never come up with a legitimate way means of making money, rather, they will think of ways to make really quick money so they can bet on the next game, which is what drives many of such people into stealing from other people, this in a sane society can not be considered as a method of recovery, but a method of further destruction.
