Although I do not trust most of the altcoins projects on the market, I am convinced of the importance of these projects to some extent. Many may share a bad perception about altcoins because the huge number of scam projects and how much risky are those investments.
Altcoins are an important component of the cryptocurrency ecosystem as it's offering a wide range of advantages like: offering diversity of innovation which will surely can be accessible for a wider audience/the potential to generate high returns from trading or long-term hodl/enabling startup projects that are promoting decentralization which will enable growing new communities.

We do not have to trust everything. We have to do our research and investigation before investing in any. Altcoins are important. They have helped many of us enjoy cryptocurrency and that is why many more are interested in it. It can not all be bitcoin. The scam in altcoin projects you mentioned is what happens anywhere there is a crowd or rush for something. Rush will exist if something has something that makes it attractive. Altcoin is attractive and that is why there is rush.

Almost only because they represent investment opportunities for those who dream of easy profits. Other than that, can you mention to me altcoins that have benefits or importance in any of our daily uses? Yes and the coins developers has been using the pumping enticement as techniques to attract investors that the more you keep holding is the more profits you a liable to make just as the potential long term holding coins are. And on no course would the promoters tell you the reality fact that they're only good for long term because they tends to scam you away at the coins dumps. Although there're still AltCoins good for long term holdings but rarely to be trusted upon.

Investing in altcoins on average happens like that if we are selective, events like the ones you describe can happen at any time. Even though fundamental altcoins still exist, there are still those who want to speculate on buying new ones and trying their luck that they will rise several times as much. Personally, I'm clear and historically it has been proven to perform well.

Therefore, in my opinion, it would be better if you have money and want to invest in crypto, you should choose bitcoin, or eth and bnb if you want to buy altcoins. It is difficult to find another project that can provide security for the value of your assets as well as Bitcoin or ETH and BNB. And altcoins will still be needed because if there were no altcoins I think Bitcoin would not be in its current position.
