The luxury watch business is also a good investment, but you are right, most of us here are people who do not have too much money, so even if they want to start a watch business, there is no chance. Expensive watches can indeed be used as long-term investments, but to sell them we also have to be able to find people who are willing to pay for them. different from bitcoin where whenever we can enter the market to sell it. therefore I prefer to buy crypto according to my ability, because if you buy a mehaw watch you have to spend a lot of money first. but my boss because he doesn't understand crypto he prefers to buy luxury watches, and watches from 2000, currently 2x profit

Tho it hard to sell in my opinion is not liquid not like stock or bitcoin crypto especially the market is running 24/7 no close and meaning we can sell anytime.

I can also relate to your friend but on my part it’s not luxury watches but luxury bags that are very self-fulfilling to use. I have no doubts with that. However, when you decide to sell it for profits, I guess that’s the hardest part. No one would buy at a much higher price but instead they will look for a bargain price, thus making the seller selling at a loss. The reason why I prioritize bitcoin investment more than buying any luxury items. At least when I decide to sell, I will never settle for a low price but with higher price instead. That way, you buy at a low price and sell on its higher price, that’s how profits are gained.

Imo luxury has huge connection or takes huge impact from trend and fashion. With no time, expensive luxury item could turn into expensive toy. Speaking about watches - yes give its owner some kind of a status. For example having a Rolex means that a person has achieved something in his life, even though its a just a popular brand. But, to have benefits from a status watches, its owner have to wear them. Which means there is chance of watches getting micro cracks, abrasions and etc. Their value drops due that. During current digital era, there is a risk that luxury watches might be some day replaced with modern ~1k smart watches. With luxury watches, owner must be ready, that not many will be able and willing to buy his watches. With Bitcoin - just few taps or clicks and your are ready to close a deal.

P.S. In matter of just owning luxury watches, I would say that $1 and $1kk shows same time.

People who own a luxury watch have enough power to invest so I don't think there is any need to sell them a luxury watch to invest. It is more about being a collector's item, especially if it is very expensive, as only a few will use it. This is like exotic and rare cars that most of the rich are collecting, but they are just putting them in their garage and not using them. But again, there are people who like doing business on it, like buy and sell, which is still an investment, but for me, we are the same, as I do prefer bitcoin because I have more knowledge of it than those luxury watches.

Owning a luxury watch collection is certainly a pretty cool thing. The reason why many rich people do this is both because it is a hobby and because watches with collectible value become more valuable as time goes by. On the other hand, the fact that luxury watches are used for money laundering actually provides a very good advantage for many people who have serious wealth. These people can transfer their wealth from one country to another through luxury watches without any hindrance. In addition, the biggest advantage of luxury watches is that they are among the assets that cannot be seized in case of any lien. It is a no-brainer, with the performance of the Bitcoin market, I would rather have Bitcoin since it can give me way more profit than owning luxury watches and reselling them.  Another thing is that Bitcoin often needs no maintenance as long as we secure it, unlike tangible things that need some maintenance and are susceptible to damage and deterioration which make them less in terms of valuation and may become worthless if the owner failed to take care of those luxury tangible things.

Totally agreed about the maintenance part, no matter how valuable a thing might be or whether its value increases significantly over time, as long as it is tangible, it won't be the same after a decade or so, which is not the case with Bitcoin. A luxury watch that you might have won't be the same if you can't take good care of it but if you have a few Bitcoins and you have kept them somewhere safe, they will be the same but only more valuable after a decade or so.

So I personally don't think that something luxurious can provide you more profit in the long run than Bitcoin because Bitcoin isn't something that exists physically that gets old or depreciates over time but an item no matter how good will surely have some changes after a few years.
