Yeah this type of stories happen in third world countries and they lose valuable players who want to give all to the club or national team. The thread is bad. When you place money first in whatever you want to do then the best will elude you. This is appalling and the reason that third world countries struggle in football especially countries from Africa.

Those at the tops only care about their own immediate financial benefit and not care where the player gets to tomorrow with the myopic thinking that they have benefited from the player. I will still blame the government when it comes to corruption.

Ironically, Cameroon national team lost one of the best players in the world because a greedy and corrupt agent (or a group of them) had a bribery scheme to recruit new players. Imagine how further they could reach on World Cups if they had Mbappé on the team, profiting much more and getting much more recognization than what they would have earned with the bribery... Corrupt people think they are smart, but they can only see things on short term. What really matters is what happens on long term, and that is something only God knows and sees. So better to walk straightest as possible in life, never creating obstacles for our fellow beings, rather trying to help them as possible.

Whether it is jist a scam being pulled by a nobody or an organization, this should be alarming for serious franchise of any sports indistry 'coz a bright future of their players are being played on simply because money has the power to do so. pArt of this, I guess, is scouting. In the case of Brazil or Argentina which are also regarded as third world countries, theirs is still fair if they do such obnoxious stuff because they still perform better during world tournament. Maybe in there own case, most of the players are gifted and it doesn't affect them as such. Or maybe they have had issues of selection during tournament that they didn't perform to expectation.

This will be common in countries that are corrupt and this is one of the reasons corrupt countries will lack good players. I have noticed that this is common in countries like Africa. But maybe not common in countries with better players in the world like the South America and Europe.

The best players would be chosen if no corruption and bribery.

Mbappe would have been a better product for Cameroon, but know that not only because a player is known to be good that he is good, also his team are also good and that makes them to be a better player. Probably Mbappe may not have become one of the players among the team that won world cup, but definitely he will still be known as he plays for club. I see Cameroon to miss him though, he would have been a better player there.

This can happen if the team does not have a strong sponsor who can fund all the activities and training of the players on the team. And it's also happening in many countries that are looking for local players, and those local players have to pay an entrance fee to their teams. And if those new players don't want to pay their entry fee, they'll move on and find another team that doesn't use the money.

Usually, it happens in minor leagues for start-up beginners to train well and prepare them for the next level. Maybe Cameroon misses Mbappe.

It is not that Mbappe exposed them, it is known to themselves in those third world countries that they are bribing. But the problem there is what you have said already. You will see a good talented people in those countries but unable to make it to national league just because of this. Not only that, the clubs in the counties will also suffer because only people that are able to bribe will be more in their clubs while talented people will not be able to get there. This proves how Africa has been lacking and unable to win world cup.

This just reveals some indoor corruption in the sport. With that kind of corruption, it will be difficult for that country to be successful in the sport because the real talents who are not fortunate will never have the opportunity to play.

It wouldn't be surprising still, the corruption is everywhere. A lot of examples in African countries and this will just be one that will completely make the Cameroonian team look fake. One would ask if they also paid some amount to be part of the team. 

The father must be very disappointed as well, he could have been more proud if his own country team got his son's back but instead, they were asked to pay. I would also be exposing this kind of BS if I were the father.

Corruption knows no bounds. It is just a selfish interest and self aggrandizement, nothing of such will be an excuse. Corruption takes any form whether sponsor or not. The case of Cameroon as reviewed by Mbappe's interview is sufficient. The national team of Cameroon won't lack such sponsor I believe because the government will provide all that was needed but few top officials will divert it into personal purse.

The whole football scene is like this and they always victimize young talents that just wanted to play a fair game of soccer but couldn't because either their current roster's marketability is great enough that even if they don't win that much they still could get brand deals and make money off the players, or they just win so many games that changing the roster is going to affect their chances at claiming titles.

Either way it's stupid and there have been contingencies set in case something similar happens, otherwise I don't see why they would take in new talents in the first place.

It doesn't happen globally his father just said the French charge nothing so they stay with the French team. I'm not really familiar with football sports but I can see this is pretty much similar to other sports where players are being pirated by headhunters. Quite a revelation from Mbappe, will the football federation do something about this because someone just went rogue.

It happens well, some players are not allowed to play in their country so they will decide to fly to other countries which they will try their luck. Lots of African countries have lost lots of talented players just because of issues like this, if you cant pay coach or you are not connected to a highly influential person, then you wont be allowed to play even if you are very talented, they prefer allowing players that are less talented and can pay then to play. I dont really know if things like this happens in other regions but it happens in my side.

He miss the country and the country also miss him. If he those not miss the country he wouldn't have visited the country, but the country really lost a very great talented player, the government should arrest the coach that was asking for money and he should be punished so that things like this wont happen in future again. coaches are suppose to build the team with the most talented players, and they shouldn't build the team due to the players that can pay them.

Every players have their own unique experiences when it comes to joining the league and maybe this is true since he will not say that and just ruin his reputation. Well this might not be a requirement but maybe a small team can’t pay that much and that’s why they need something in return so they can accept that player. If other players will make a statement like this, then we can validate that statement and I’m sure its not happening anymore.
