It's not always good to diversify your investment especially if you are doing it on high-risk assets best examples are on random altcoins.
But selecting an altcoin that is on the top market cap is always good, much safer, and low risk.

Among the list, I will only pick Ethereum for altcoin and Bitcoin. Having these 2 coins in your portfolio will make it safer.

Investing $20k to BTC and ETH is the best option for sure. These are the most recommended coins, the price history of these coins are proven enough. If we want to choose the coins with low risk, BTC and ETH are the perfect choice. But the increase of BTC and ETH won't be as significant as altcoins with cheap prices.

Dude, you're talking about $20,000, which I think is a very good amount to invest. If you are patient and make 5-6x the altcoins you choose, you can have a very productive bull season. Ethereum is more safe than bnb because Binance is already sued for security and after then bnb price is not looking good. most of the whale already out of bnb and also from Binance. As far my experience, investing in BNB and all coins where Binance lab invested is not safe. Sec is not happy with Binance and other big exchange working process and they want all to be work under their rules. Binance US results is front of us and should learn lesson. Ethereum is somehow we can say safe and could bring profit in term and if one have 20k then some percents should be invested and hold it for long term.

Cardano is not performing for many months and if you out glance on the graph then you will not see any big green line which indicates that buyers are not here in this coins. infact cardano trend is over and many advance project launched which are worthy to invest and i think better than cardano and other ild coins. Layer 2 projects are amazing and their volume is now more than Layer 1. Arbitrum and Optimism is best option to choose. XRP is also best one, won the case and now safe to hold for long term but still very far from the achievement we expected from XRP two years ago

Personally huge amount or can't guarantee with consistent profit depend how well researching before investing in some altcoin or moment for investing in bitcoin. But if manage well with well with researching potential coins for investing seems profitable with 20k$ capital and consistency earn around $100 to $300 every days. Don't huge speculative for earning profit above $2k with capital $20,000. I think with consistency profitable around $300 to $500 seems promising because some potential altcoin and bitcoin more stable price right now.

IMO, you shouldn't be looking for things that are already out to invest in, if you do that you will be starting from the back of the pack and will get left behind. Look into new projects like Lamina1, Q Blockchain, QUAI etc. that aren't on exchanges yet. Most of them, in fact all of the examples I gave are doing community incentive programs with token giveaways to grow their communities.

If you are still wondering what altcoin to invest in, I think it would be better to invest in Bitcoin first, and after that you can invest in Ethereum and Binance, I think with the large amount of funds used to invest, there is no need to invest in new altcoins for the sake of it. chase tens of times more, considering that even a small percentage still has a fairly large nominal profit. Leaving our investments on a good wallet can ensure also a peace of mind for us, and yes if OP is still doubting with altcoins, BTC is the best option to deal with because its still cheap yet the future is still bright. I would guess that people could have confusing times, I have been in the crypto world for 10 years now, and I still do not know what to invest sometimes, it is not as easy as people think it is. In the end it is not as hard as this neither but not easy.

I usually go with particular powerful altcoins that would be hard to shock me, that rarely has any type of downside to it most of the time. Picking something like Doge or Shiba would of course have you feel terrible because they go down, but when you pick something like ETH or BNB or LTC, that would rarely have a period where it would go down like that, those are not things that would go down %99, they are things that would go down with the market and go back up with the market.

You should make your own list because just look at how enormous and random the suggestions of others that you probably haven't heard what that coin they're suggesting.
While the suggestion of the majority are known and just the same, you have the idea on how you've made this thread long enough and there's also lots of suggestions already on what you'll gonna do with that $20k of yours. It's a lot of money but why settle for diversifying a lot of it in various altcoins when you don't care about holding and buying bitcoin on top of them?
