You are comparing apples and oranges here.  Bitcoin is a digital decentralized cryptocurrency which utilizes the blockchain to process it's transactions, gambling is...not that.  Sure buying bitcoin could be considered "gambling", but no different in the sense that buying a companies stock on the Nasdaq is gambling.

The answer is quite simple: gambling has been in existence for over centuries before bitcoin.
Also, gambling despite the age limit attached to it it doesn't demands you to have much amount to start with. For as much as a cent you can use to engage into gambling among yourselves be it online gambling or offline among guys.

You don't necessarily have to learn gambling before starting you just need to make up your mind and there you go. But for Bitcoin different is the case you have to learn so well how to trade or invest before kick-starting and so many people don't have the luxury of time to reading. Etc

It also seems governments are more comfortable with people blowing their money with them via gambling, then by "investing" it in a decentralized currency that could/might revolutionize the way money works.

Buying anything can also be considered as gambling and that is only as a term, not entirely gambling. when people compare Bitcoin and gambling, it will be a different thing. out of nowhere they got the idea to compare Apples and oranges with different types of fruit. gambling would be a good place for the government to tax gambling because it would generate huge profits over decentralized Bitcoin and would not provide as much revenue because they do not have total control.

I don't think gambling is leading instead of Bitcoin. If you say there are more gambling ads than bitcoin ads, I would agree.
Bitcoin is not the same I gambling they are totally two different things. It is just like oil and water. Bitcoin is like an investment with carries massive risks and there are ways to mitigate these risks. However, gambling is not an investment. It is more like a trial by error method to get money. It carries risks but not as significant as bitcoin. The reason for this I repeat is that in gambling it has been programmed that you can almost never win against the house whereas, this is not the case with bitcoin where you success depends on you.

One reason is that gambling had been around since ancient times while Bitcoin is just around for a little more than a decade.  Comparing the exposure of the two, gambling is exposed longer than Bitcoin and had been in the industry even before we are born.  So it is not surprising that gambling gains more fans than Bitcoin.  Besides, gambling is created for entertainment while Bitcoin is created to bypass the third-party financial institution while transferring funds.  They have different purposes and gambling purpose is more interesting for the majority of people than what bitcoin offers.

Aside from that, people also have different preferences. We can't just force or lure people into crypto even how far we explained to them the technical aspect of it and the promising good returns in terms of considering crypto as an investment. Gambling in general can somehow considered a form of entertainment and there is no doubt that if such a thing is entertaining, more people will be hooked on it - a social community.

Don't take it too much technical. The level of risks has really nothing to do with why people are mostly gambling instead of investing or taking part in crypto.

It's due to their lack of knowledge of BTC or cryptocurrency. They consider cryptocurrency to be a scam investment. Many people in my country still do not believe in crypto investment at this age. While they use online gambling sites that use our local currency and can deposit using a digital wallet. Some don't care if the site is new as long as it is supported by an influencer. It is really an unfair comparison so definitely there is no answer to say whether the risk involved in bitcoin is higher or it is in gambling.

The reason why the adoption of gambling is rapid is because of the evolution of the internet just as social media, youtube, online degrees, and importantly jobs which clearly insist that everything that has been done traditionally is getting replaced by the internet in the way people are liking it.

Comparing Gambling and Bitcoin is like comparing Gambling to traditional assets such as Gold. Bitcoin is an asset where people invest, use them for various purposes such as paying for goods on the internet and so on. But Gambling is a form of entertainment where you can gamble and either win or lose. Gambling additionally has a lot more risks associated where the possibility of the casino favoring the house is higher than a gambler.

Gambling can be compared with trading of altcoins/shitcoins where you just throw a few bucks onto some memecoins and wait for them to pump or dump while the fundamentals are completely negligible and on top of that, you can make or lose a shit ton of money on both.

That is because most people are not happy with just buying a certain amount of Bitcoin every month with money they can afford to do so as it does not give the person the adrenaline that gambling gives.This is of course wrong but that is how it is for the moment with people loving to gamble their money for more money and gambling is advertised a whole lot more than Bitcoin,streamers in different platforms inciting other users to try their luck by showing the huge wins there of x10.000 or more (which of course they have take a lot of time to achieve it) but viewers do not see this and as such they go and try their luck.This gives adrenaline and emotion in the beginning and it can become sadness and rage when you lose money yet people continue to gamble.

Of course it is much wiser to put the money you gamble in buying even the lowest amount of Bitcoin every week or month as this way you are preparing for the future but unfortunately very few people do this.

If you think gambling is suitable for comparison with forex trading, there is nothing wrong with OP comparing bitcoin to gambling because aside from holding, bitcoin is still used to trade in the market. This is a bias for bitcoin to say that bitcoin is better than forex or stocks, as each market has its own advantages. You cannot trade and make money with forex, but many people who have succeeded with it are even richer than the bitcoins you hold. Do not criticize others when you are not much better than them.

We need to be rationale while comparing or analysing bitcoin. There are folks who become based while defining benefits of bitcoin which in my opinion is not good. Every trading market has its own pros and cons, nothing is free from cons and so is bitcoin. If you have proper experience and knowledge of specific market only then you can succeed in specific market. Bitcoin without proper knowledge and know how won't give you any benefit.

To me, Bitcoin or forex are just tools for us to use, and both can be considered gambling if we use them like gambling. I mean, if we enter trades or invest in them without any knowledge, it is no different than we are gambling. The line between gambling and investing is very thin and it all depends on how we use them.

You are right, each market has its pros and cons, it is not possible because we are investing in bitcoin that we can say spreading misinformation about another market. But many people become evil and always speak badly of what they think is not good for them or that they cannot make money from it. I am a bitcoin investor, but I like being realistic and fair.
