I keep seeing this on the forum and I'm a bit puzzled. I know that this is a place where knowledge is shared and gotten, services are also rendered and for you to render your service here you must have at least built a (good) reputation for yourself before someone can do business with you.

Why I'm bringing this question up here is to actually know what can cause you to get a neutral feedback because I know you can be slapped with a negative feedback if you've been caught breaking the rules or you were reported to have scammed someone or another offense, but I don't really get the reason for a neutral one? Is it like a warning or something?

If you want to scam. If you join a campaign with your alt making two or more accounts that you used to join. If you are promotion scam site. All these can get you a negative trust very fast.

Having negative trust it not about the forum rules, it is about what people on this forum seen that can cause another user on this forum harm or not obeying what you supposed to obey, like in each signature campaign, campaign participants are given the rules not to join with alts.

Like on this forum, scam is not moderated, but if you want to scam and you are noticed, you will be given negative feedback.

Neutral feedback doesn't necessarily mean a warning, it can be used for good one too but not related to any amount of money or less money that doesn't yet to qualify for the trustworthiness since we use positive for that.

You will understand if I gave you an example, let's assume you gave a loan of $20 to someone and they repaid you the debt on time and it happened only once for that Neutral can be used instead of positive since the amount involved not that big to express you can say you will trust the person whatever the money and still want to let the others know your expression.

Neutral feedback is used for something that not fit in both positive or negative feedback, important and should be give benefit for the other users who read it, you can check this thread for more information LoyceV's Beginners guide to correct use of the Trust system

Neutral feedback for spam, it give benefit for the campaign managers to select their participants.

Neutral feedback for resolved accusations e.g. late repay about loan, bounty distribution, unprofessional act etc, this give a warning and be cautious to deal with the user since they might likely might did same mistake in the future.

offense, but I don't really get the reason for a neutral one? Is it like a warning or something?

Just as negative feedback is a red flag and a direct warning for users who want to engage in any form of transaction with the account owner, The neutral feedback serves a purpose based on what it's given for and depending on who gives it. Not all neutral feedback looks bad on a user's profile; I have one currently on mine. This was given to me by a member whom I took a loan from, and the feedback is a sign and notification to other members that I'm still on an active loan with him or her.

Use Neutral feedback for anything that doesn't mean someone can or can't be trusted. This can be good feedback, for instance, when someone helps you out.

Neutral tag could mean a positive or inconclusive feedback left on a user whereby you're not deciding yet about the certainty of the user reputation on any aspect you are observing him through, this may also be a neutral feeling you've got over a user, if you suspected them of one thing or the other, it's also a means of leaving a review or information about a user performance or your interaction with them, the word neutral explained it all, so i will oike to out it this way that neutral tag is used when you want to leave a particular comment on a user profile for others to see or know concerning that person, it's a kind of hint or note about someone's reputation on which fact is not fully established but you would like to drop an opinion either good or bad about the user.

Oh, right. I was under the impression that it was used to keep the user in the watchlist of the person that put it. Maybe incase the person commits an error then it would be removed from neutral to negative. Thanks for this link you provided.

Going by the literal meaning of the word "neutral", it means the tag is neither positive nor negative. However, going by my observation, most of the neutral tags given sounds like a warning which in some cases not different from direct negative. The worrisome thing about neutral tags is that they are influence by individual personal view and not by the forum standard. Unfortunately, it has now turn to weapon of attack among members having personal grudges with one another. The best thing to do is to be genuine to the best of your capacity and don't do anything that'll warrant the tag other than positive.

Unfortunately most members do not follow any guide. These days you can earn a neutral feedback when you are in a disagreement with another user and if they don't like it. There are many members who will leave you a feedback if your posts are not good enough. Sometimes some neutral feedback can read from negative aspects.

The key to not receiving a negative motivated neutral is to ignore the person who do not go well with you. There are no need for hate towards each others.

Oh, right. I was under the impression that it was used to keep the user in the watchlist of the person that put it. Maybe incase the person commits an error then it would be removed from neutral to negative. Thanks for this link you provided.

Some user still uses the neutral feedback this way, most times if your activities in the forum becomes suspicious or you start doing things you have never done in the forum some might just use it as a note to inform others to keep a close eyes at your account. That's one way to use the neutral feedback.

But take note that it can also be used to thank someone or if you ever did something for someone or they did something for you, you can use the neutral feedback to thank them, so you see it's not always about watching or notifying others about your activities.

But sometimes you'll see some users using the neutral tag as their personal note while some tagged others with a neutral tag but when you read the comments you'll notice that it has a negative meaning . So as you can see no everyone in the forum knows how to use the trust feedback system correctly so keep that in mind whenever you're about to go through someone's tags.

Actually leaving the feedback for spam lead to the creation of merit system then its not practiced by most members to tacle spams via trust ratings but its somehow accepted by the community when the spam rate is higher and also their ratings can be reviewd after a while so it will be deleted when the member feel that you are not spamming anymore anyway its exceptional so no need to brag into this.

  • If you disagree with someone's posts consistently or you feel someone is posting crap uninteresting comments then Ignore the user.
  • If you disagrees with someone judgement then put the user in your Distrust the user from your trust list.
  • If you feel someone should not be trusted due to previous scam history or potential of doing in future then use negative trust

I hope it give help for anyone who is confusing with all the three.

I don't think this warrants neutral feedback; although most people have different ways of judging, merely disagreeing with someone's opinion in an argument is not enough for a neutral tag "What will be the comment of such a tag"? I guess such could possibly be considered or seen as trust abuse. Unless in a situation where the person who is opposing someone's opinion doesn't have enough facts to prove their own point but rather is gallivanting around some unverified information.

20% that you know the reason why the account can get Neutral/Negative is correct, as you said here.

At a glance @jrrparkles, has given you the link for the guide.

For that, Neutral & Negative is given by DT for related accounts, everything varies, depending on case by case, we here have our own assessment for accounts that get Neutral & Negative, the purpose is for good/warning, in essence: many things and problems have happened, why can the account get these two things.

For that, if your guidelines conform to these rules: Topic: Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ, of course you will be fine here, without having to accept Neutral & Negative.

Why I'm bringing this question up here is to actually know what can cause you to get a neutral feedback because I know you can be slapped with a negative feedback if you've been caught breaking the rules or you were reported to have scammed someone or another offense,

but I don't really get the reason for a neutral one? Is it like a warning or something?

Neutral tage can come as a result of breaking some rules; perhaps you can say it's a warning (you said), yea, a warning for the user and also for other members too to avoid being scammed or deceived by the tagged victim.
There are some situations where one could formulate a fictional topic just to deceive others, but let's say it's discovered as a lie. In such a case, some DT members can give neutral tags while another DT can still give a Red tag for the same offence. So, most times, tags are based on which DT gives them; some DT can give neutral tags while others will give negative tags, but both tags are just for warning.

Also, some neutral tags are not really given when an offence is committed; they could also be given after some successful trade if the member doesn't really want to give a positive tag. Some lenders on the forum will put neutral tags on any members who do take a loan.

I keep seeing this on the forum and I'm a bit puzzled. I know that this is a place where knowledge is shared and gotten, services are also rendered and for you to render your service here you must have at least built a (good) reputation for yourself before someone can do business with you.

I had this confusion about those tags but the red one, I don't need a prophet to tell me that is bad and sometimes when I come online and see users with those red tags I just avoid them or I see them as people who have done something bad to be tag, but along the line I noticed is not all (users) that deserve those tags (I assume). When you have a neutral tag, I  think is when you have to be careful with whatever you doing because the next one might be heavy (Red).
Want to ask, is there any body or group of persons you'd appeal to for it to be removed? Or if such happens either neutral or red tags is it permanent? Can't it be removed after a couple of days, week or months if not guilty? Like we know someone's rep is at stake.

Neutral or negative feedback system that can be given to accounts in this forum. It's all caused by various reasons. Some are in the form of warnings, or clear reasons about an account that has committed fraud or is known to be carrying out account farms and all of these accounts are entered into the same signature or bounty.

But not only that, those who can create an account on this forum can be given a neutral or negative stamp. Other examples that I know of, one of which is continuously making spam posts or replies, or continuously making posts that are copy paste from a site or from a platform. Because this violates the rules that apply in this forum, usually accounts with habits like that will get a neutral stamp and if the habit continues to be carried out, they will eventually be given a negative stamp. Maybe there are other things that I don't know about the reasons why users in BTT can be labeled negative or neutral.

But the clear and fundamental reason for all of these problems, in essence, accounts that are given a neutral or negative stamp on this forum, is caused by violating the rules and conditions that have been set in this forum. So that's what I know about the reasons for users on the BTT forum, which can be labeled neutral or negative.

There are several reasons why one might gain a neutral  tag on your profile but you must also have to know that one cab just tag you for sliding into their pm and in general,  you can just be tagged absolutely  because one doesn't like you and I'm sure there isn't  any explanation  to that and in cases like this, you'll  have to appeal this on a thread(i couldn't find the thread but there is a thread for that when you think you don't deserve the tag given to you).

You can also be tagged id you involve in any criminal act like scam and fraud and also false pretence and just  as every other user have said, the general reason you might get tagged is breaking the forum rule and talking ill of someone without evidence or even speaking ill about a service been promoted by a reputable member.

Neutral tag can mean no offense to the person it's left on, what neutral tag means is about leaving a review of your person on your profile for people to have a clue when relating with you, this does not mean bad, many newbies feared neutral tags because they feels it's something that could affect their chances of being trusted on the forum, or reduce their chances of signature campaign acceptance, a good example of how neutral tag means no harm is when you take a loan and the lender leave a neutral tag on your profile till you make refundment, neutral tag could also be a way of expression of ones feelings about the other.

Most of the tags are just feedback so neutral is self-explanatory that just means it's neutral feedback to your account meaning it wasn't negative or positive feedback usually it was just some comments on your account. There are some instances where members get a red tag from other members if they think that the users did something that is against the rules or probably accuse of something but if he did redeem himself or the accusation just wasn't true some members will just revise that feedback to neutral. It wasn't some kind of warning like you said I guess the easiest way to describe it is a comment but you could use it as well as a warning some members used a neutral tag as a warning as well as alarming other members to be careful making transactions to this profile something like that. It was also used in lending if you loan to other members they will tag you a neutral tag about the loan and then revise that in the deadline if you're going to pay or not. Neutral usually doesnt have any heavy consequences compared to a red tag, so just make sure to follow the rules to avoid getting a red tag.

Don't be afraid of a neutral tag. They practically do not bear any consequences for the user. But some managers who accept a user into their subscription company sometimes pay attention to them and may ask the user to clarify the situation with the one who left the neutral tag.
Recently, users using AI tools have been tagged with a neutral tag. This serves as a warning to managers to decide for themselves whether they need such a user.
But if you look at my profile, then the neutral tag says that I am not going to take loans on the forum, and this serves as a kind of security.
Therefore, neutral tags should always be considered individually.
