There's no pattern in sports, the team or fighter always changed either there's a new player, new coach, injured, get old etc. This make even though you've analyze there's an underrated team in the past that mostly won against the big team, there's no guarantee the next year it will be same.

The only way is your self-will in controlling your limitation, greed will always around and it's adding the desire whenever you are making good winning streak, it will push you to keep betting and keep using the luck which is backing you, but if you are good in controlling and you are sticking with your original plan and not doing anything to break that setup.

The biggest mistake I ever made was probably starting to gamble. Had I stayed away from gambling I'd have a lot more money in my pocket than I do now. I think winning is possible, but winning big is rare so it's good policy to look at gambling as just fun.

I had this sport bet predictions I copied from a colleague with the intention of placing my own bet on the predictions exactly as copied but when I got to the casino back then it was a physical casino house I was using, getting there I decided to add an additional one prediction to increase my potential winning amount. Guess what all the games played as predicted except for the one I added to the slip.
I felt guilty of greed within those period knowing that I could have had a win no matter how small the amount was to my person , for another it was a big amount. A lesson I can't forget.

Agreed, myself too have the same thought. Sometimes this used to hinder the mind and makes me down. Anyhow I've come into it, and the worst thing is moving from sports betting into casino. Atleast I could've limited myself within sports betting, if so te loss could've been low compared to what I've lost through casino games.

There is a reason why greed has been for a lot of time considered as one of the biggest flaws a person can have, and this is because no matter what they may get they will always think it is too little and they will keep aiming for more and more, so even if a person was fortunate enough to get a big win and got millions of dollars out of it, instead of enjoying their win they will keep thinking about how to reproduce their win over and over again and make even more money, and in the process they will squander their money and whatever good luck they used to get that win.

I used to think that when you are betting on multiple games and win most of them, you will get some outcome for that, I didn't know that your bet becomes a lost one if you lose a single one out of many games you've betted on, that is a parlay as long as I understand, however, hard luck there, I wish you didn't have added that last game from your own side so that you could win the bet but shit happens sometimes and we can't stop it from happening.

There was nothing like that for me but I remember when my spouse suggested I bet on an opponent team when I was about to place my bet on the favorite, the opponent team had very high odds because they were way weaker than the favorite team, so I went with my own bet and ignored her suggestion, and the favorite lost against the opponent team.

Yes and by the OP's words, it's not that he made a huge mistake by declining the casino's offer in both ways, it's not really guaranteed because even the casino itself was already sweating about the amount he could be getting if the remaining bets will go through and that is why they offered the OP a decent amount. But because the OP felt that he was lucky at that time, he chose to decline and proceeded with the remaining games which later on wasn't profitable.

In simple words, a gamble is a gamble, there's no such thing as mistakes that prevented your win because it's also the other way around.

Regardless of the outcome we have to be thankful for the reality because as you rightly said, the mistake that prevented your big win can also save you from a big loss and almost all of us have experienced that in the past, because there was a time that i made a bet and i was given a cash out which i refused to take and at the end i won the game hard it been i cashed out i could have not won my desired amount.

Gambling is not a losing game or a waste of time to any body except for those who have chosen it to be so for them, gambling is supposed to be a form of entertainment, but then, its rather not too fortunate that most of the gamblers we have today are not seeing it as such, but rather have taken gambling as another means of making money, and this is where the problems all starts from.

For that person who decide to see gambling exactly as what it should be(A form of entertainment), such person will hardly have issues with addiction or any form of compulsive gambling, but the moment the desire for winnings, that is making money becomes the number one priority of the gambler, this is when issues start arising most especially when the winnings are not forth coming.

I generally agree with you, but isn't it also a question of what else somebody could do for entertainment while improving life at least as much as gambling does? What if somebody instead of gambling takes the money and books an adventurous vacation, maybe gets to know new people and maybe even learns a new language? Yes it is about preference and some people would still say that gambling is more joy to them than a vacation, but can that really be true?
