Yes and it is a fact that all gamblers will also experience the same thing in gambling problems, as you said greed always leads to something worse, it is very real and everyone has it in themselves, so it is natural for anyone who is excessive in gambling or has high hopes then obviously they will lose more than what they imagine. As a gambler,I know that we have done so many mistakes in the pass base on our bets and wrong strategy or calculations that we have done which led to losing the game that was suppose to make you win big. I want to use myself as an example,I love sportbet and I bet more on it. Last months I placed my bet on 7 games that was to be played for two days. When the 5th game was played,all matches came out as predicted and I was called by the casino,to offer me a cash out of $200 in my local currency and I refused it because if the other two games was played and the I got the predictions right. I will win $1200,so I turned the offer down. The painful part of it was that the two games were to kick off on the same time,and after the games,my prediction for the two games was wrong. I felt so bad because I allowed greed to control my emotion. For this reason,I having decided that when ever I have an opportunity to cash out again,I will always go for it,instead of thinking that I can win all the money.
So my question is this,as a gambler what mistake have you made when gambling that prevented you from winning big.

It is a normal thing to happen to almost any gambler who bets on sports. They have excessive self-confidence, so they feel that what they analyze will happen and they will win a lot of money. But what happened was they didn't win, and instead they lost. Honestly a lot of the greed based decisions have probably held people back.  What I mean is that for the most part if someone wins big, then loses a game or 2 they start chasing.  That will kill off any profit quicker than anything else.  Take the loss and move on.  I do it all the time and know it while in the middle of betting and still can't stop.

Yeah right and I would also say that greed is the source of the problem, yes the ability to identify greed is quite important and needed because we have to make the right decision. But honestly I'm not too sure that they can do that in the midst of the lust that is controlling them, yes maybe some of the gamblers can consider it an opportunity or they have missed the opportunity but still even if they take the opportunity no one can know how the final result will be, as I said above it is very likely that it will not match the expectations because basically the casino always wants us to lose there, that is their goal.

Yes because it's supposed to be like that, I mean all gamblers should have that mindset when they want to gamble, use money that you won't be emotional if it's lost and you're ready with everything. I say this because this is indeed one of the actions that can reduce your losses a little, with you sincerely maybe if you lose you will not go back there with the intention of returning the defeat at the previous time, because from before you have also agreed with yourself whatever the result.
