The saying is expressed like this "if you quit that's when you lose".  They use this statement to encourage and give futuristic hope to themselves that no matter how much they loss today or how many wagers they have lost they don't need to quit as it's possible you may be the next jackpot winner tomorrow. For it's like say don't quit yet there may be a light at the end of the tunnel.

When it comes to gambling activity then on the time that you are already addicted then you wouldn't really care about those lines or statements on which you've been hearing off even if it would came from on your home country but honestly those are just those common lines that we do hear off globally when it comes to gambling addiction connected things like,. It is really that very common
about gambling addiction and on the time that you are been bust up or wrecked that bad with gambling then this is the time that you would really be stopping since you dont have the money
that you could use with your gambling activity.

If you were sensible enough and been wary with your action then you wouldn't really be doing these things in the first place on which you would be able to stop midway if you wanted to.

It is halfway correct because it is true that if one is about to stop gambling then there will be no next time for him to win and recover his losses.  While it is true, most cases often result to more losses and only a few individuals tends to win and recover their losses in such action.

I believe this statement is a marketing ploy in order for the players continue.  I believe the statement is only truthfully applicable to life challenges since quitters never beceom victorious in their endeavors in life.  But to use it in a gambling platfrom, it is obvious that it is just a marketing strategy.

I agree with your statement that quiting isn't losing. A gambler must not lose huge amount of stakes before he'll be qualified to win a bet. When one isn't seeing any possibility of winning a particular bet then quiting is surely the best thing in other not to incur more loses

Lol I mean do people really contemplate this saying as having some sort of deep meaning in their "gambling space"? I mean I could walk in to a Casino tomorrow with $10,000 dollars and play a few slots, maybe some blackjack, or some roulette, maybe bet a few sports games and then walk out of the casino with $110,000 and decide to quit gambling forever.  Well then technically I'm still up.

^ My own opinion is, in many cases, quitting gambling after consistent losses can be a wise decision to protect one's financial well-being and mental health. The moment I read this I already had a judgement on just how dumb the idea is. I reckon the idea came because people can't know the future, so until you try you'd never know what may actually happen. The thing is, this directly invalidates a person's capability of making their own judgment, especially in this case where you've already tried, but you won't quit cause well, you never know, it "may" actually just work. I have not heard about such gambling mantras in my country but I bet that in whichever country this was said, it was started by a group of gambling addicts without any plans to tackle the addiction when it kicks. Well this is for those who are majorly into sports betting. Thats completely wrong perspective on gambling. Very few get lucky whereas the majority end up losing their entire funds. Gambling isn't the right place where we should carry the never give up mentality. A statements is misleading when the outcome of the statement doesn't suits with the majority. very well-said. this is a very subjective one. for most, quitting is winning as they can put their money to more worthwhile investments and they can focus on what they want to do in life to be a better version of themselves.

A message that almost all gamblers tend to ignore. I am shocked you said you have not heard of such saying because its quite popular over here in my place and the funny part is that this term was not actually meant for gambling purpose as one can apply these words in so many fields of life. But gamblers (addictive ones) have turn the saying into an anthem used for deceiving themselves that they are going to hit the jackpot one day and if they quite they will never get to see that day come by.

My opinion is that one is supposed to be mature enough not to let oneself get influenced because the opinion of others, specially when comes to something as personal as one's money and how it is supposed to be used.

I would say that quitting is actually booking your profits in case you are on the winning side and also quitting your game means saving you from more loses in case you are already losing.

Yes, there are similar sayings here in our country to inspire confidence on the person, but I've never heared such sayings being used towards gambling, specifically. We tend to say these things when we want to encourage someone to not give up a challenge or difficult they are facing on their private, professional or financial life.

These sayings don't affect me on the gambling matter. I know my limits, and nobody else. To say this to a gambler sounds more like a challenge than an encouragement. When people want to challenge each other here in our country they tend to appeal to masculinity. If the person retreats, it means he isn't a man for real... But that is all bullshit which influence only the weak minds.
