Not entirely correct although the reason to quit is because of losing is more higher than quit when profit.

If the gambler can't quit when they already make some profit, they will end up quit in losing because the longer you gamble, the higher chance you will lose due to house edge. You need to set up a realistic winning first, like quit after double or triple your money, if you quit only when you hit the jackpot, almost of your gambling activity will always in lose.

AFAIK, day traders had a similar statement. "If you sell, that's when you lose." Maybe day trading has some similarities with gambling.
This is clearly a delusion. Gambling isn't supposed to be about winning or losing. It's supposed to be about having fun, escaping from your everyday problems, relaxing and chillin. The moment you start thinking about making money via gambling that's when you have already lost.
I wouldn't allow my decisions to be influenced by anyone else(especially when it comes about personal finance and how I spend my money).

Brother, not with gambling, this is not something that needs your every might so that you can be the next jackpot winner tomorrow,  chasing this will even get you no where fast, gambling is something you need to participate in for fun, it's not something worth dreaming about, jackpot you say? Yeah, I think it's a popular mantra by die hard gamblers, but if you look at it, very wrong to me. I mean you can quit when you are still on top and had money in your wallet. So who would like to go to sleep without money and losing big?

And obviously, since this is gambling, we really don't know what the outcome will be. There could be someone who thinks YOLO and go all in. I can't blame him/her for that. But if you are going to used logic here, it's better to go home while you are in the positive side.

You have already lost when you lose your money. And if you stop gambling, you have lost and it is difficult to recover from that loss. It's just a statement that has grown among gamblers so they think that if they don't stop, they can still have a chance to win. In fact that in my country and I believe in many others to be the opposite,if you quit you start not losing anymore as you don't gamble again.While when you gamble their futuristic hope of doing better in the coming sessions is just a false sense of security and false hope to make people get back to gambling.The best statement I know is "if you quit then you start winning" and there is solid reasonable logic behind this statement,when you quit the money that you would use for gambling go elsewhere and you don't lose money anymore,this for me and many others is a win situation.

This is a pretty reckless statement because just imagine if someone listened to this statement and really didn't give up even though he had lost a lot, it would not only destroy him but also the people around him because we know that people who are addicted to gambling will be more aggressive and have no common sense. So in gambling it's good to know the limits and when to stop. Because if someone keeps pushing to win, usually in the end that person will keep losing and won't get anything.

Everyone has a reason to quit not only because he lost or won the jackpot, I have never had a problem when I saw someone quit gambling because he had his own reason, moreover we never know what is someone's reason for gambling. after all, stopping gambling does not mean losing, in fact, they are winning, they can get out of gambling.

There is no defeat for someone who stops gambling let alone getting the jackpot, because people who can control themselves in gambling will be even better, because by controlling themselves so they don't play gambling all the time I think he is the winner, he can win himself from greed and emotion . It's popular remark for gamblers but I would agree with what the majority says, it's not true. When you quit if you have money then how will you lose then? It just make gamblers more addicted to it if you have this mindset in my opinion.

Everything is based on pure luck though, so you will not know what is going to be the outcome. And for the majority, maybe it's better to stop at some point and quit if you are winning and then just continue to play tomorrow, simply as that.

I think this statement should be used with everything else but not with gambling, because in gambling, you keep losing as long as you don't quit, it isn't a struggle to reach the top or get to a treasure that is untouched, the largest percentage of gamblers tend to lose more money than they manage to win even if they keep gambling for their whole lives, not every gambler can hit a jackpot that will earn them everything they've lost back and they will be at the same position where they started their journey.

Quitting isn't a sign of weakness and defeat. Sometimes quitting means you are courageous enough to acknowledge the thought that it isn't for you and it isn't doing any good for you. I've encountered that phrase so much and I really think that it beings so many misconceptions because of the false positivity it brings. It isn't really wrong to stop what you are doing when you think you've already tried enough. If something no longer adds value to your life, then quitting is the safe thing to make. If you know when to stop and when to continue gambling then there's nothing to worry about because it's unlikely for you to fall for bad habits if you have self-restraint.

"If you quit you are a loser" - that works only when you are trying hard to achieve something. I doubt that this can be related to gambling, as gamblers are not achieving, they are trying to earn. I think that in connection with gambling, it would be better to say "if you quit you are a winner", meaning you have beaten formed or rising addiction. That "if you quit that's when you lose" seems to be artificially created by casinos and play on human greed Speaking about my country, the only statement that is used towards gambling is "beginner's luck".

"It's not shameful to lose to gambling, it's shameful to give up gambling."

But the statement was broken by other words of wisdom.

My understanding for your statement ( "if you quit that's when you lose"). That is a person's repentance and identity, they realize that the casino will get everything. 'stop gambling' is a choice to live a normal and healthy life, not vice versa to lose.

 One thing most gamblers should understand is that gambling is a business and as such, these peeps would use all the marketing strategy method available so that they can keep their customers but like every gambling establishment would say that you should gamble responsibly, they would prefer you keep playing, because in that way, you keep them richer.

I think this old adage or saying is not just for gambling, it might have been used for like in a business. But still though if this is for gambling then it could be wrong in my opinion.
