You're not going to achieve something, e.g.  just because of another saying classic, it is signed very simply: "I decree..." and you add whatever you want to it.

The problem with gamblers which is not limited to only them is that most of them adopt or accept herd thinking or behavior. They conform not because they want to but because they have to feel among the pack and do not want to be left out. If you have 5 group of friends who think that "if you quit is when you lose", you would be the 6th person with that thinking and perspective.

Apart from all that, it would be better if someone decided to stop, even though the desire to return to the previous defeat with a win is very high but on the other hand we also have to consider that it is very likely that we will experience the same defeat. If someone has money left and decides to bet with high hopes and beliefs that with this bet he will succeed in winning big, but still losses will continue to dominate. I wonder what country you are residing in, but it sounds more like you are trying to transmit the saying from crypto to another domain. In crypto the saying is that when Bitcoin drops in price, you haven't lost anything until you really sold at a loss. While that makes some sense and has proven to be true on several occasions, I doubt it could be said with the same probability about gamblers not to stop gambling

I want to say there is nothing bad to express hope in whatever you are doing but the above particular sentence is the reason that some gamblers have turn to addicts. They don't consider that luck is involved in it but they have taken it to be what they can't give up in and they consistently play to chase back their losses.  They work with hope for the bet to turn their way and when it doesn't, they are turning themselves deeper in betting. I think this literacy implies many meanings, I am quite familiar with the words "If you quit that's when you lose!". but in truth, it all depends on someone to interpret it. OK, since these words are defined for gambling, let's deal with it. Well, if a friend said that to me, then, what should I do, I don't care what they say.

I agree, in gambling it is a different story because even if you lose big on that specific day, you can always go back in the next day or next few days and have a fresh start.

I often hear this saying and those words often come out of those who get the win that day to encourage their friends who lose. Actually this saying can trigger more extreme decisions that someone will make in pursuit of victory because it is triggered by their desire to make a return on conditions when they lose. I think the main option to be aware of is to stop when you lose and try it another day when your emotional level can really be controlled in gambling.

Thats basically what gambling is. Convincing yourself that you can make the impossible possible. But people tend to go too far, they start mixing up reality with their fantasy world. That is what leads to the biggest losses. Gambling itself is fun, if you go small. But going big should be avoided because going big always stems from going with your "gut feeling" or emotions. I'd take this advice if I'm not wagering with huge amount of money regularly. This advice can be suitable for purchasing lottery tickets in a daily basis where you will need to spend less than a dollar to maintain that combination you had for such a long time. But in a casino, it's a big no no. These people who gave advices such these statements are only after the money you can possibly win in a jackpot IF that one day comes to reality, BUT talking about reality, you will never going to be a winner in gambling technically speaking. That statement is never correct. I wouldn't totally quit gambling because that's one of the many ways I could find leisure with, but I should only manage to minimize the expenses and time I spent in gambling especially when you're already a family man. AND, most importantly, I wouldn't want to listen and be influenced by other people's advices such as this. Because, obviously they are just making you look like a fool.
