You're right OP, there's more needs for the naija local board to have more than one merit source, this will help the even distribution of merits to active members of the board contributing well to the forum at large, there are other local boards with more than two merits sources in their board and they help their members posting well to have the opportunity of ranking up after meeting some certain criterials, someone like me, I don't think i can remember when last i received merit from this board that's if I've ever received once, i believe there are more responsibilities attached to our board merit source and considering the numbers of members posting that he will also have to find some quality post deserving to be merited, chances of everyone getting merits is slow, but having an additional merit source will make the whole process more simple to achieve.

Boss, make you no give up as everything go take place gradually. Una three wey @SmartGold mention,if una become merit source at least the thing go relief Brainboss to dey merit post all the time because na part of him work be that. My Oga @Charles-Tim, I salute your efforts regarding dis merit source matter, since wey join dis our local board, I observe say na you bi di most active poster, so you deserve to be a merit source. Di link wey you share for here about your merit source application, suppose make Theymos, consider di request sharpaly, because e capture di whole essence of why we need more merit source for our local board. You are correct. Merit source should be by application, not nomination. Maybe nomination is not the right word that I should use, but you people understand what I am implying. Any established member can come up as long as he/she is able to look for ten good posts that he/she can use to apply.

But theymos has sent PM of merit source offer to some of the members of this forum before which are good posters.

I am just curious to know,  because when I first registered on bitcointalk it took me months before being able to get used to some terms and also took me almost a year to know how the bitcointalk forum politics are played.

But of a truth, we do need more merits sources here in the local board not just one and I think other members of the Nigerian community who feel their qualify to be selected by the forum administrator should also apply because we all know how luck plays a vital role in forum activities,  who knows whether just one application from other members and the admin may approve it ASAP.

So let us not put our eggs in one basket,  and even the cryptocurrency brain boss is not even our local board merit source,  but he is just playing that role because of his love for our local board even though he has low monthly merits allocations.

So we need more selfless individuals with high luck to also try their luck in the application for merit source,  and we should all show our support to any Nigerian that put forth their foot to apply for source position.

Let’s hope and pray that he approves that soon and add more merit source to the local board. The merit source approval has to be with application first, there’re some criteria needed for a person to become a merit source, I don’t think if they don’t have that criteria they’ll just be given the role. Merit source as a I know is a selfless and voluntary service to the forum, it requires you to go through the post of others for the best posts that needs merits but lacks enough merit. If one does not show concern or commitment that they want to be one, I don’t think they’ll be granted just like that.

I don take my time read  the posts for the application coupled with the statistics wey our senior man present. Truly no doubt about the fact say we need another merit sources wey go back up the only one wey we get already.
Of lately and according to the statistics presented, we are growing so fast that we need more hands to sustain the one we have so that more people would be encouraged to do more.  From my observations, it looks we have been on the this for quite a long time and possibly as a result of the fact that we had no local board hence we were ignored but I believe Theymos would give attention to it soonest.

I think you are misunderstanding my comments and taking it to be a direct statement targeting an individual,  but if you read my comment without any prejudice you will know that what I am saying is the same in all the comments,  unless you misunderstood me greatly and I won't blame you if you do so since English is not our basic language since English just a borrowed language to us here in Nigeria and we are all still learning the act of mastering the language at the individual level,  so this kind of misunderstanding happens time to time.

On the topic of new merit source for the local board,  I am sure you are aware that you are not the only Nigerian applying for that even though you seems to be the only one who have created a topic for that a long time ago,  and why I mentioned individual luck being a major contributor to being selected is the fact that,  when the first set of merit sources were selected,  the administrator did not request for an application from those that we're selected,  I don't know if they indicates interest to be chosen in the first place and we also know that many of those who have indicated interest since then have not received the attention of the admin in that regards.

There's nothing to get Surprised at here, @Wiwo. I believe you guys are all Nigerians, and most of you have love for one another. You will probably want your friends, brothers, or sisters to enjoy the privilege you are enjoying with
 Bitcoin investment, and if you luckily have a registered account on the forum and manage to attain a high rank, your comments get rewarded with some SATs. So, it's very obvious that you can basically refer someone to the forum, and before then, you might have even educated the person about most things on the forum.

The OP could be a real-life friend to anyone on this forum or this local board, and if the person who refers the OP to this forum is of high rank, the OP should know more about the forum.
