Naija board needs more merit source

With the way the Merit come dey very hard to get, person go just dey wonder whether em no they try abi em no dey do the right thing, and the fact wey be say those merit sources wey they for beginners and help no understand Pidgin to merit Pidgin posts wey we submit they make am hard for our people to get more merits, therefore we seriously need this Merit sources.

 I they see posts within and outside our local board and eh reach to say our people dey really try with quality posts we dey follow up well well but then the merits no dey reach us and if you one do comparison you go see say many of the post from our people even get more quality pass their own but them go they get more merits pass us.

 That's why we need more merits sources like the OP talk so that our people go they get merits for well deserving posts especially the newly introduced members wey done dey dey discourage cause them they try their best buy em come be like say them no dey try, I just hope say oga Theymos go look into the matter as fast as possible.

I like wetin I just read, na better news be this and Sherrif, I love the fact wey be say you and Brainboss dey put more  efforts to make sure say our Naija Local Board dey grow in all round, eh show say una want us to succeed for this forum, this na the kind leaders Nigeria need, leaders wey dey carry their people along and ensure say dem succeed I appreciate una good effort. Well whether oga theymos add new merit sources or boost una own, all na still for the benefits of the board but if you think say to boost am na em better then I support your decision cause like I talk before, na still for the benefit of our Local Board. My oga, you don really talk well, you and oga brainboss don prove say na true leaders ona be, and na only God go fit bless ona for us we the naija community, and to be frank, ona deserve to be crown a chieftaincy title because ona really deserve am.

Just as wetin you don talk already, as e stands now, e go dy easy for theymos to increase the merit allocation for you and oga brainboss than giving us another merit source, so I believe say applying for increments of the merit allocation for you and oga brainboss go dy more productive than looking for more merit source to emerge, because quite of late, merit don hard well well, if no be hugeblack wey dy help us sometimes, I for wonder how e for be, so in essence is that, na very good thing you do , because e dy easy for theymos to increase you and brainboss merit allocation than appointing another merit source.

it's a good thing that the board is getting better by the day and with more merit allocated to our active merit donors, it will yield more merit to all the quality posters and go a long way to incourage others to step up with the quality of thier post. You're really doing a great job and comparing this local board post to what's happening in other local board and even in the English board, we have built a reputation that's solid and the quality of post we've seen hear has improved a lot. Another consideration should be to continue on the weekly merit that's given to quality posters like what brain boss and hugeblack have been doing. That alone has a way of encouraging quality post in the board as it motivate individuals that want to get there names on the list to give a touch to the kind of post they make.

If really we need more merits source, I don't think now is the right time to apply for it, besides we already have 3 merits source applicants (if am not mistaken), but as we have BrainBoss and sheriff and there merits allocation is low, the best thing that the director of the Bitcointalk should do is to increase the merit allowance for brainBoss and Igebotz so that the merits will go round the whole quality posts on our Local Board. It's convincing when a user is upgrading in the forum it gives happiness to see how others are upgrading including you.

I see this to be biased as you know my intention. You always know my intention is to be a merit source. I visit Nigeria local board always and I read post there quite often. If theymos accept me as a merit source or not, that is not a problem. He has always managed this forum in a way good posts are prevailing. But I will always let him know my intention that I can be a good merit source for Nigeria local board and also for the English board. Even if we have three merit sources, we can distribute the merit more appropriately.

Although he stated that he first overestimated the Nigeria Local (activity-wise) and that the allocation he gave me would be sufficient given that we already had CB, he was wrong. My last request was a top up to the existing source, but that would not prevent him from creating another source if he deemed it essential.

I think it wouldn't be bad if merit allocations is increased for the pre-existing merit sources and still add another merit source. The local board is becoming broad on a daily basis and discussions in the local board are becoming more productive since we have a moderator and a lot of users have been making good and quality posts that deserves merit.

If we observe correctly, when sheriff was confirmed as the local board moderator and was allocated some smerit as a merit source the local board became more engaged in discussion due to the fact that merit were being circulated by him and CB. I know that it's not all posts that are deemed to be merited but you all can agree with me that if distribution of merit becomes more visible and unbiased in the local board a lot of users who abstained themselves from local board discussions will find need to come back. Let's be more honest, merits awakens more quality discussions in the forum even in the general discussion boards there are some threads that have become active for years but the reason why those threads is still in existence is due to the fact that merits are being awarded to users following up such threads.

In summary, we need more merit allocations to already existing local board merit sources and we still solicit for more merit source even if they are many we deserve it because we have grown so large that our growth in the forum has been recognized so we ain't asking for too much in my own opinion.

Who did you know that hasten to apply for merit source? I got over 1000 merits when I was a senior member. I was always two ranks ahead if my merit is compared to my rank. I applied for merit source when I was in legendary already.

Since e dey hard somehow for Theymos to accept the merits source application wey Charles tim submitte months ago, for Theymos to increase the merits allocation wey him give to CryptopreneurBrainboss and Igebotz go dey easier than to add another merits source way him no go give above 100+ merits, think am.
If him accept Charles merit source application, him fit no allocate above 50 or 100 merits to Charles and nah fuck up. So it's more important to increase the merits allocation for the 2 merit sources we have already before accepting another one.

Take a look at my "merit sent" history to get your answer - the percentage I have is merely a drop in the ocean; it only lasted a few days, and this thread is already full with quality discussion that deserves many merits, but it isn't enough. Merit source is not granted based just on reputation; it is given based on your distribution rate, and if your "sent merits" are less than 80% to the board you're applying for, it's a waste of time because nothing will change even if you're awarded those sources..

We already have two, it's open for anyone to apply, having multiple source would do the board more good than bad. While Charles-Tim application is pending I will like to see others apply too. They might be lucky.

I can assure you that theymos did not see the inner application you made after a few pages on the topic; he often read OP and the first two pages of something Forum-related.

theymos silence can imply a variety of things; you must be patient, focused, and continue to contribute to the forum while keeping your smerits on the local board. He watches everything

If theymos will give or consider any merit source application, he will still do it so weti I go advice be say make u a just dey bump di application threads to di first page of the board every week so dat him go dey see am and di time when he go give then your own too go be considered.

And another thing again, if di admin can increase di current allocation of the merits giving nto di present ones then it will be a nice one too. And another one is added it is even the best.
