it looks like Jason Lowery's (the author of the book 'softwar') account has been hacked and a typical scam (send money to get more back) has been posted.
dont send sats there!

People are careless with their Twitter account, my guess is correct that another one will happen soon as usual

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5461008.msg62600310#msg62600310

From the look of this with fake giveaway, I will know easily that it is a scam.

I am expecting another one soon.

People may later be faking it by compromising their own account.

checked the address, looks like no one has fallen for the scam yet. though there is one transaction that has been made where the address received BTC‎0.0005 the same day the scam post was made, but, I'll assume it is just a decoy from the scammers. I mean, I won't be surprised if they do decoy transactions to make it looks like there are people sending and trusting them and the give away legitimate.

Obviously this is hacked! The tweet looks the same as the behavior of a scammer who tries to make a lot of bitcoins with a return of 0.05 BTC if you send 1 BTC. LOL

New bitcoin scammers have 1x transaction with $14 maybe this is baiting or is someone stuck?

I don't think there are many who believe in this deception.

We never know as long as that tweet is up someone might fall into it I hope there will be none, the scammer is asking for a huge amount of money not everyone has 1 Bitcoin so he's not getting anything, the scammer only needs one sender to make a lot of money, people are getting wiser, they know the scheme and they are aware that this is not the first time it happens to popular personalities.

I'm happy that people in Twitter is getting smarter, back then they wouldn't even question why they have to give bitcoins to participate in the giveaway but now they're finally thinking. That time where the scammers ask for 1 btc and doubling it and then someone stupidly gullible sends for real is probably the highlight of that scammer's career but now they're going to create new ways to scam people on Twitter, fake airdrops can still dupe some people right?

The scammers are going to get craftier now, remember AI ransom? Where they use an AI voice of a person and then call their relative to tell them that they've got kidnapped and that they need to pay the kidnappers crypto to release the fake person, that's only the tip of the iceberg in this new ways to scam people so be safe out there eveyone.

The tweet is still there, Twitter is very slow in taking this tweet they are an incompetent social media platform and right now the wallet has three transactions https://mempool.space/address/bc1qgerh5dr9nmyfsd6xy7j97as09nf3ynmn0thp9q so there's now 0.00181439 BTC$53.34 it's bait because there are people already posting in his tweet that the account was hacked so it stopped there, this is a cheap trick and will always be even if the tweet comes from top personalities once it ask for funds its always questionable.

People can easily determine such shady tweets because in this age everyone is getting smart only because of those scammers and frauds. Everyone of us has encountered an attack from such scammers in the form of e-mails, online accounts getting hacked, or sometimes a message or tweet done from an account that has many followers. In this case that account belongs to Jason Lowery, and a good number of people follow him, but the hacker who has stolen the account of him made a so naive tweet that even a kid can suspect that something is shady going on. I feel happy when such scammers don't get success with their tricks, and I wish that people should be protected from such scams.

Now few people believe such promises, since this fraud is not new and most people already know about this scheme. And despite the fact that the Jason Lowery account has more than 100 thousand subscribers, only 3 people fell for this bait, who transferred only 0.00181439 BTC to the fraudster's wallet.

With each period, an account of one of the well-known influencers appears on Twitter. His followers find that the formula of the author of the tweets that they know has changed significantly, either for a giveaway tweet, as happened to Jason Lowery, or as tweets for an Airdrop with a phishing link, so what is happening is crystal clear that the owner of the account has been hacked and that whoever posted these tweets is a scammer who managed to access the account, but here is a very small category of people who forget to use their minds and easily fall into this fraud.

It is good that the methods of fraudsters are old and outdated, and despite that, they do not stop their schemes and evils, and fortunately, there are good members like you and OP who expose them and shed light on their crimes.

It was because maybe they just wanted to try their luck. I don't think some of those people are really serious about entering the giveaway - or maybe it's just a trap.

So far I haven't followed influencers on twitter much - so I don't think I'll be swayed by such efforts. After all, the average person is educated on some scam attempts - so this will inevitably result in fewer victims than none.

Now few people believe such promises, since this fraud is not new and most people already know about this scheme. And despite the fact that the Jason Lowery account has more than 100 thousand subscribers, only 3 people fell for this bait, who transferred only 0.00181439 BTC to the fraudster's wallet.

Scammers are like virus, they don't stop at a place for long and they're ready to change pattern of getting many people to fall for their lies and is really working for them. Now is like a battle between us and the scammers, how I wish we can always detect when they start lashing out their lies, that's too hard though.
I really think they have gotten more than the number you said 3, it would be more than 3 people. Because you all know how popular Jason Lowery is with the number of subscribers, the scammers must have gotten up to 20+ members who fell for it...

Well, this is new. What happened to the gold old days where we were supposed to get 100% back compared to the amounts we deposited? Tongue
Scammers nowadays are only giving 0.05 BTC extra.

checked the address, looks like no one has fallen for the scam yet. though there is one transaction that has been made where the address received BTC‎0.0005 the same day the scam post was made, but, I'll assume it is just a decoy from the scammers.
It would only be a good decoy if another address deposited an amount and then received the extra bitcoins back as explained in the tweet. I didn't check if that is the case here.

it looks like Jason Lowery's (the author of the book 'softwar') account has been hacked and a typical scam (send money to get more back) has been posted.
dont send sats there!

Scammers are using twitter to conduct their evil ways this days after knowing that people tends to believe more on updates and informations from official twitter accounts, but now it is fast increasing that they have to give more more alertness of twitter handles because these scammers gave shifted to using the social media platform for more scam related activities, dont let someone fools you to give you free money online out of thin air and you just believe such when they are not father Christmas.

I remember when Twitter celebrities accounts were hacked on the same day. Elon Musk, Barack Obama, Kanye West, Bill Gates accounts asked us for bitcoin. They said they're giving back so if you sent $1000 they'd return $2000. Now ppl are smarter they won't send cryptocurrencies to hacked accounts.

maybe it's not so surprising that nobody falls for this scam anymore. it used to be quite different on twitter when the first 'send me 1BTC and you'll get 2BTC back' tweets from hacked twitter accounts were circulating, a lot of people fell for it - maybe some have become smarter now... on the other hand, the hackers are always trying to scam new crypto users for their well deserved satoshis Tongue
