If I, for example, have a lot of Bitcoin, I will not pay my Bitcoin just for food, but if I use fiat as payment, that is what I will do. Because why would I do that? if I know for myself that in the coming year 2024 each Bitcoin will be more than 100k$.
It will just look like a waste of money for me to pay Bitcoin for food. I guess it's just common sense as a long-term holder of Bitcoin.

You should be able to find the ones that accept bitcoin directly on CoinMap. otherwise, you will have to use gift cards from bitrefill or some other gift card provider that accepts bitcoin, but this obviously only applies to big companies.
You're right about that. I won't be able to find small businesses and/or merchants there. But thanks anyways. It's good to know that there are plenty of big companies supporting the cryptocurrency. Maybe the list will grow in the future as Bitcoin becomes more popular? I never thought of buying products that have cheap prices with bitcoins. Transaction fees will look very expensive for transactions under $200. Especially if every time you pay you have to wait for the transaction to be confirmed by the network, it takes a long time. Even though I love bitcoin, in some cases, using bitcoin is not a solution but a new problem.
But I'm not against your wish to find a restaurant that can pay with bitcoins. In my country bitcoin is banned as a means of payment and can only be owned as an asset so I can't recommend anything to you. But if I may ask, wouldn't you find it expensive to buy a cheap product with a transaction fee of around $0.5? In my opinion using fiat is cheaper and free of transaction fees if you use the same bank network
Yes. I've figured the only way to buy low-value items would be through the Lightning Network. The high on-chain fees will make you lose a lot of money in the process. It's really not feasible. I can't figure why adoption for the LN is still low when it's been around for a few years now. Maybe because it's more difficult to use? Let's hope BTC reaches a new ATH so more merchants and/or businesses join the game.

How much food are you going to buy to make your one time purchase worth it? I would not want to spend 3$ on food and use half a dollar to make payment, if I go out to but food at a restaurant in my country the charges is like 0.10$ or even lower in my fiat to dollar rate.
Yes, I agree with you on this point. It does not make sense to buy food for a small amount and pay a fee of 0.5-1$ for one meal, for example. There must be large portions of food or the quality of food is very expensive otherwise you are likely to charge as much as the price of the food. In such cases, for small payments, it is better to use the Bitcoin Lightning Network, but unfortunately this option is only available on a very limited scale.

I have seen fast food restaurants and delivery services offer their food and/or services for Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies (Although usually the majority was Bitcoin). But I am talking about cheap food chains which do not take the restaurant business as serious as 5 star restaurants. I have yet to see a middle to high class restaurant have a Bitcoin payment option. Maybe because profit margins are slim enough as it is and if they were to lose money on dips, then they would have a hard time paying their staff and bills? Stability must be achieved before Bitcoin can be taken more serious as a payment option. And stability can only be achieved if Bitcoin is widely adopted. In fact, I would go as far as to even say it should be globally adopted.

no, it's hard to use bitcoin just to cover low transactions because they would be very expensive compared to their actual value when using another form of payment. Especially each time you pay, it takes a long time to confirm the payment. While bitcoin is special, there are some situations where it's better not to use bitcoin at all.
If you have a desire to find a restaurant that accepts Bitcoin, I cannot help because in my country owning and using Bitcoin is considered an asset only. Rarely see them using it as a form of payment. But instead I have also seen them prioritize using cryptocurrencies such as altcoins matic, tron or stable coins.

Well I think you could search online about restaurant that accept Bitcoin as mode of payment in your specific area. Because here in my country, even if you search there's only a few businesses that accept Bitcoin worse is that is too far from my place so it might be a same scenario to you. I don't know you could convert your Bitcoin to fiat money to avoid the hassle of finding restaurant wtih Bitcoin transaction.
And also if you're gonna pay why not just bother using fiat right? I mean we all know that Bitcoin has a lot more potential than USD so save yourself an inconvenience. But if you're really trying to find one just to use Bitcoin for payment as an experience then go for it. Hope you can find some in your place because here is too seldom to have Bitcoin in any transaction.

It's a good idea to choose Bitcoin for payments either you buy food or anything and it will cause more adoption and obviously very impressive for Bitcoiners who wants to use directly. As Bitcoin is a Currency it should be used by this way.
But my point is why I will pay a decent transection fees for every single transections and it will affect if the payment amount is small. You have to pay almost 0.5$ for every transections and you have to wait a little for confirmations. I am really observing some barrier to implement Bitcoin as a payment method for small amounts. If you ask me then I will surely convert it to fiat by using P2P exchange and then I can use it for every small transections. Even P2P exchange fees and converting to fiat fees are really too low. But I appreciate your decision for Bitcoin Payment but it should be higher payment amounts. Otherwise you can use lightening network which will cause you a very lower transection fees and faster transection speed.

Do you know of any restaurants and/or supermarkets in the US and abroad that sells food for BTC? It would be nice to avoid Fiat altogether and use BTC to buy our life necessities. The only place I could think of is El Salvador with its acceptance of Bitcoin as legal tender. It's likely every merchant and business there accepts BTC as payment method. I don't know about the US and developed countries. Could someone enlighten me? Thanks in advance. In my the number of stores that are accepting Bitcoin as a payment increases significantly compared to the past years when there are only small businesses that are accepting Bitcoin most of the time, they are just individual business owners that are just bitcoin investors as well. You could probably find a lot of websites accepting Bitcoin already where you could easily find food to buy, but to be honest I dont really a fan of Bitcoin as a way to buy something because I just dont think it is already suitable for that just because of its nature and the volatile market price of Bitcoin. I mean I do buy Bitcoin for investment only, and I really think that Bitcoin is suitable as an investment because of the market cycle and its volatile market price, yes it is a risky investment but if you know what you are doing you could easily make a significant amount of profit just investing in Bitcoin. Using Bitcoin on your every transaction just means that if the market price drops you lose money because you spending your Bitcoin its like selling your Bitcoin at a low price, unlike fiat money which has a stable market price even though we have inflation it is more suitable for transactions.

I don't think there is any restaurant like this in US or European countries right now, which can sell you food for bitcoins. After reading and using search engine happy to see that USA and other European countries made a good job and food could ne buy in restaurants easily by paying btc.At present. Many countries are trying to legalize Bitcoin, and they believe that Bitcoin should be used as a currency for transactions, but it is not all that simple. This will happen, but it will take time, but some countries, and the banking sector, try to create various barriers to this happening because the success of Bitcoin could cause a big blow to their fiat currency. In my opinion, fiat is the best option for small transactions. While Bitcoin would be a useful mechanism for larger transactions. lets suppose we have to buy 5$ food then we have to pay 0.5$ fee which is not looking good. Bitcoin is best option for sending money to overseas and will save time and tax but for low transaction fiat is best.

Currently, this is only possible in countries that have embraced bitcoin and accept it as legal tender. But in countries that are currently still hindered by regulation it is quite difficult including in my country. Indeed, some time ago there was one area that provided this to add to the attractiveness, especially since the area is often visited by tourists, but at this time, payments using bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are a little difficult because new regulations have emerged. Even though for now bitcoin can still be one of the investment tools but for payments it is still prohibited in my country.

Bitcoin accepting many restaurant it is also good news for cryptocurrency market. Because a currency Being established or successful when it’s usability increase. When people use bitcoin then bitcoin has been successful we tell that. Many many thanks for US because they started using bitcoin as a payment system in restaurant. In future ohers many country and many big big company will Start using bitcoin as a payment system. Then bitcoin will be more popular and established i think. I also think in future many country will accept bitcoin and and many country will declare Bitcoin as a legal currency. So t think Bitcoin's future is bright there has no doubt.

The biggest hurdle in daily adoption of Bitcoin is its fee and speed issue. Bitcoin is fine if you are paying something big and you can afford high fee or can wait for the settlement to take place. Until such issues are fixed we have to rely on fiat for our daily like buying food or cup of coffee. There is an alternate solution to fix this problem in the form of Lightning network. But some how that solution is not able to take off.

Sometime last year, I was seeing bitcoin City everywhere in the forum and I am surprised how the wave faded away. I think the bitcoin City was situated in the El Salvador. But then of government was actually in charge, it should be long term project which will develop in a moderate pace. I also remember I have once read a thread where someone was living only on bitcoin spending. He doesn't spend fiat.

Lol Im.sorry i had to laugh but what is the essence of using gift cards and I think if he buys a gift card with his coins and it might not be same rate when it's time to use and rather than using gift cards to make physical purchase, we can use other means but not gift cards and I also buy and sell just incase you think I'm speaking ill about my business 😌 I don't know of the united states but I think su ce they have bitcoin machines in the United States, then it will be easier to used and spend ones cryptocurrency but the best way you can get solutions to your question is getting out and making inquiries from those vendors directly.

Last year Boracay Island situated in Philippines have become a bitcoin island as adoption and acceptance of bitcoin on different services continue to increase. The inspiration of the Boracay island is from the El Salvador Bitcoin beach. Though it is a small island with population around 15k residents the island have got the beaches that attracts thousands of visitors. This had made it a better business region and for the same reason it is possible to see good number of businesses and restaurants accepting bitcoin.

Hmm, it will be good and way more effective and cheap with the lightning network, But unfortunately, we are very far away from such type of the adoption of Bitcoin in the payment mode because first of all, it requires the official country recognization than state recognization and than hot civilians demand and preference. All this is currently not possible except for a few cases where the seller or the service provider itself provides some sort of such transection approval/acceptance. In developed countries this adoption level can be way faster in my region or the under developed countries it doesn't see in at least 10 to 15 years such type of adoption because here people even don't except digital payment frequently, they always prefer the cash, at least most of the times.

Some wallets/cryptocurrencies partnered up with Starbucks to accept bitcoin and crypto payments, that's one. If you're looking for specific spots in other countries I'd suggest you use CoinMap.org for it. It's fast, simple to use and gets the job done. Otherwise just carry a P2P wallet/exchange app with you like binance to make sure you don't lose money on the go cause for the most part cryptocurrency's not that known yet in the outside world so most establishments wouldn't offer bitcoin payments and all that, so just in case you're going in a different country raw without any fiat on you, be sure to carry some on the go cryptocurrency you can easily exchange without issues, unless you wanna wash dishes and all that lmao.

Using part of your Bitcoin to buy food or make payments online does not mean that one is stupid or one does not know what he is doing. This is a way to promote the use of Bitcoin without any harm. Since we can always convert our fiat to Bitcoin online and use it to buy goods or our necessities online, it is a good move and it will show other Bitcoin investors that this is a true way to transact using Bitcoin. I can decide to convert most of my fiat holding to Bitcoin and keep using it to buy things online rather than using our normal fiat to do the same thing. When other people see us or notice that we always buy things online using Bitcoin, they would want to follow the same foot steps promoting the use of Bitcoin as a payment method.

When other people see us or notice that we always buy things online using Bitcoin, they would want to follow the same foot steps promoting the use of Bitcoin as a payment method. Rather than holding there is a need of small spending so to keep up the circulation as well as to spread the goodness about bitcoin. As said above it is true that people get triggered to use things that are being used by others. Bitcoin is given importance as an investment over a regular spending currency. Over time when the acceptance and adoption level increases, people will get used to it. Being part of an advancement we should have our contribution. Myself used to spend converting bitcoin to cash as we don't have much of stores and online services accepting bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Most of the bitcoin and cryptocurrencies that involves into direct spending were on gambling platforms.

I mean you can always get a credit/debit card which pays back rewards points in the form of satoshis. I know some of my buddies use those. I have to say while living in Chicago, I never saw too many stores, let alone grocery stores that accept bitcoin as payment. I did see a few places like food stands and a family owned convenience store that did, but never any major grocery stores. I think we will see this more commonly...eventually, though.
