Its exactly 10 years 3 days that we had the last experience of our dear beloved pioneer and cypherpunk Hal Finney in making his last post on this forum https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2436;sa=showPosts, it's on a great event that such a day was the last time we hear from him on this noble community bitcointalk before he embrace the last journey in meeting with his ancestors, his last active time was in March 29 2017 on his profile every bit of his posts were what we can always reference to till this day, he has laid down the foundation together with Satoshi and not a bit of their efforts is rendered useless today in bitcoin, most of what we all have to post and talk about were inspired outcome of their contributions and posts on this forum that we lay more emphasis on today, Rest on Hal.

How did you know about the information, was it from their local board you got this information or for how long gone now.
This is to show that life is just as an air whenever you are feeling the cool air you would never know it will for a day stops and turned to the pole where someone else keeps enjoying it.
RIP to him, but base on your post though I don't know how reliable this information seems to be.

RIP to him, but base on your post though I don't know how reliable this information seems to be.

Hal Finney passed away on August 28, 2014 and he is somewhat famous and has one[1] of the threads that can be considered from the history of bitcoin. Google his name and you will find more information.

Generally, this account[2] is managed by someone (may be a member of his family) but the last topic he wrote was in 2013.

That account is locked, and I think that discussing it is useless. This topic can be moved to bitcoin discussions, if you want to make it as a reminder of the values that he left behind.

Hal Finney for me is the satoshi. I don't know who else could be speculated as him, but for sure, Hal is the only one I can think of. He was the first person to ever tweet about Bitcoin. I know doesn't even matter in this case but still, he and Satoshi (actually himself) had a similar tone and made similar logic. He basically spent some years of his life talking to himself to make it look like he's not satoshi. I miss him though.

Thank you for attesting to what op just did, however I never had the knowledge he was no more on earth and I have actually come across most his post over here but didn't know he is no where to be found on planet earth.
Well life is full of surprises and wonders, we have to be very mindful with what we do as well in other to get abstained from evil before leaving the world.
Again rip to him and his input on this forum will never be forgotten about no matter what it takes his legacy still on.

Hal Finney for me is the satoshi.

I won't be surprised if he is not mate!

Hal Finney is resting in peace and if he was Satoshi then he has given us this miraculous gift of Bitcoin before ending his journey on this planet Earth. I really don't know that if Hal was Satoshi or not, but I can say proudly that the guy was a genius and people like him born once in centuries. Very few people can be so enlightened like Hal Finney, and their leaving of this planet so early can be a nightmare for many of us. Hal was just 58 years old when he left this world and we have lost a gem like him so early. RIP Hal Finney, you are always alive in our hearts.

Hal is certainly one of the greats when it comes to the whole cryptography/cypherpunk revolution that got us to where we are today with bitcoin. His profile is one I enjoy looking at posts from the past.  I could only wish to have a fraction of the intellect he had when it comes to cryptography and computer programming.

Hal's head is cryogenically frozen ..the man has legit change at coming back from the dead...more than most of us can say lol.

You surprised me there, buddy! You've been here long enough you must have heard of the name Hal Finney and that he's been dead for a while now. Who doesn't know the one who received the first ever Bitcoin transaction? He's no member of any local board here. But the information about the man, his contributions to Bitcoin, his life, and death, are not to be doubted. He's more or less an open book.

Anyway, reading his posts, Hal seems to be the open-minded man that many avid Bitcoin supporters today are not. Rest in peace, Hal!

It's still a text post and yes, you can fake it too. I can create a new user account on this forum and can talk with myself for hours either in DMs or in posts.
How is it difficult to fake it? If we don't have any audio proofs or video proofs, then there is no proof that they weren't the same. And my point stands true.

Also, I mentioned "for me". I don't care what you think who Hal Finney or satoshi is.

The identity of Satoshi is unknown so we can speculate that he is anybody. I have heard so many of these conspiracy theories and I get more confused each time I read these theories. But unless someone comes up with valid proof that someone is Satoshi, all these speculations will continue to remain people's personal views.

I have also read about Hal Finney. He was one of the few that believed and embraced Bitcoin when the currency was nothing. He would have also been the person that has the information about the identity of Satoshi because he had contact with him. Sadly, he didn't benefit much from the currency he built with Satoshi. Most of his bitcoin was sold to take care of his failing health. He believed in science till death and his body preserved because he believes that one-day science will conquer death.

Hal Finney for me is the satoshi.
So does that mean Hal is talking to himself when he invite himself to join the development of bitcoin at early stage?
Obviously, the two are different, check his story[1] of meeting and exchanging words with satoshi online.

These rumors started from Satoshi's disappearance and that he was no longer publishing, and it was the same time that Hal Finney's illness intensified and he could only speak through a special device.
The fact that Satoshi disappeared will remain a mystery, and many hypotheses can be ruled out due to the lack of sufficient evidence, and we may not know the truth, but in general it is difficult to say that Hal Finney is Satoshi, but there is no good theory that explains why Satoshi disappeared.

Many of us think so too. Hal Finney is Satoshi. How come he was the first person to receive bitcoin from Satoshi?  I read somewhere that Satoshi lived next to him. What a coincidence. Nah. This Man, God rest his soul is Satoshi. But he is one hell of a smart man. He laid out everything perfectly well and sadly exited. He legacy lives one and I am happy with that the bitcoin and crypto- community honors him.
The identity of Satoshi is unknown so we can speculate that he is anybody. I have heard so many of these conspiracy theories and I get more confused each time I read these theories. But unless someone comes up with valid proof that someone is Satoshi, all these speculations will continue to remain people's personal view.
The identity is Satoshi is not known and you can't also say that Hal is not him. It might be possible that Hal is Satoshi because of his love for bitcoin devolpment and his contributions on this forum. I don't know if knowing who Satoshi is will help solve so many of your doubt but don't let it bother you and don't digest everything that you read on the internet about Satoshi identity because nobody can give a better information on him as he just disappeared and chose to remain anonymous. Hal is a genius and he is one in a million.

Through a link supplied here, I read one of the most inspiring endeavours of a pioneer. Late Finney was truly a genius who lived out his time well before his demise. What moved me most was how he continued to write codes and all that even while sick suffering paralysis. Dude was genuinely passionate about programming and Bitcoin. I think people should read up this thread of his...

Today, I am essentially paralyzed. I am fed through a tube, and my breathing is assisted through another tube. I operate the computer using a commercial eyetracker system. It also has a speech synthesizer, so this is my voice now. I spend all day in my power wheelchair. I worked up an interface using an arduino so that I can adjust my wheelchair's position using my eyes.

It has been an adjustment, but my life is not too bad. I can still read, listen to music, and watch TV and movies. I recently discovered that I can even write code. It's very slow, probably 50 times slower than I was before. But I still love programming and it gives me goals. Currently I'm working on something Mike Hearn suggested, using the security features of modern processors, designed to support "Trusted Computing", to harden Bitcoin wallets. It's almost ready to release. I just have to do the documentation.

If Hal isn't satoshi, at least he's the closest one that we can think of. But one thing for sure that we can recognize him of is that he's dedicated to what he has worked for together with satoshi or himself.

And IIRC, he's able to give the bitcoins he's holding to his family and they deserve that and hopefully they're able to hold til' now or sold at good prices.

Death is general life style that everyone who breath will experience,  today we are discussing of his passed away and tomorrow other people will discussed our own pass away and what will remain is our legacy which is paramount, Hal Finney i did not meet him in forum when I registered in forum to know his posting styles and other things about him, and this is first time I come across of his profile, other post of people I read about him their is good recommendation from people that meet him, that means it most be a good person, we will miss his contribution in the forum and the knowledge he heard for bitcoin technology, let his soul rest in peace.

He cannot invite himself to join the bitcoin development. For the sake of privacy, many weird things could be done. I do not believe that Hal is Satoshi but then I do not also believe that Satoshi if alive doesn't have hands in bitcoin code maintenance.  I have read where one of these old developers agreed that they have alts, and sometimes they enter into conversation with their alts publicly in order to prevent suspicion.

He believed in science till death and his body preserved because he believes that one-day science will conquer death.

Do you mean that Hal was not buried?
