There's two sides to this story. Let's assume we do not see any bull run for next 10 years, but we do not see any bear run as well. Which means the price of Bitcoin will stabilize. That will be great for Bitcoin because then Bitcoin will be used for transactions and not for investments. It will create adoption opportunities for the merchants. Price stabilization is a very important thing for transactions. An unstable currency is not a great mode of payment, but when it stabilizes, then a lot of merchants will consider it as a mode of payment.

I mean it all depends on different circumstances. I think that we have already managed to overcome the problem of price volatility with BTC long ago when it comes to payments with something called payment processors - and they are the simplest way for the buyer to pay the amount of goods or services at the given price at a given moment, and for the seller to receive the requested amount in fiat.

It is not very realistic to expect that the price of BTC in relation to fiat will stabilize to the extent that payments would go directly according to the model BTC address - > BTC address, as well as that price stabilization would have such a positive impact on merchants, because they even offer a lot that can be bought/paid with BTC, but there is too little interest from customers.

There won't be any new ath in the price, but it is possible to see good number of people using it. There is a huge user base that have avoided bitcoin, just because the price is volatile. Some predictions and speculations are very reasonable to hope for, of course some are not. If you expect bitcoin price to break $200k - $300k in the next 10 years, then I think that's still reasonable. If you expect the bitcoin price to break through $1B in 10 years, then that's too low a chance to be true. Generally, that doesn't sound possible since the adoption will keep increasing and there will always be more people willing to buy than those willing to sell their assets and that is basically what drives the market. If there is more demand and less supply in a market, that market tends to gain value over time. So, I don't think that the price of Bitcoin will keep going down or stay stable where it is right now without any pumps and positive price movements at all.

You are emphasizing the main point of the OP's question, this is financial markets and how did the market stand still for 10 years? Bitcoin has been around for 14 years and as we can see, it has never stopped moving for even 1 day, let alone 10 years.

Market manipulators can make money in multiple different scenarios, whenever they can predict the price action, thay can capitalise on that, whether price goes up or down. They don't need bull run to earn great profits. They can do the same with smaller movements in either direction.
Retail investors aiming only for > x100 opportunities haven't been relevant for a good while now. By definition, they don't operate with big funds, as no one would be betting any serious money on a very risky assets (only such can offer yields of that level).

I mean the cryptocurrency market is just so volatile and we can't really predict the market so it is probably possible to not have a Bull run in the next 10 years It is possible but it doesn't mean that it is going to happen even though it is possible, A lot of factors are going to affect the market price of Bitcoin so something could happen like for example war maybe world war III is going to happen next year, so are we sure that the market is just going to circulate the same way or the traditional way? For those who are new to the market and have a chance to buy bitcoin for 15k or 16k USD this is clearly seen as a win for them, they have doubled their profits so it is not wrong that they call this price increase season. You have a point there, I also believe that if bitcoin wasn't volatile and profitable for us in the first place then we certainly wouldn't be here and bitcoin wouldn't be as popular as it is today. I agree that not having a bull run doesn't automatically mean that Bitcoin's price will be falling. We could still have periods of modest but consistent gains (that doesn't meet the definition of a bull run), where Bitcoin acts more like a store of value.
At the same time, if you hold BTC mostly for financial gain, it would be silly to keep holding it forever if the price is stagnant or on the decline for prolonged periods of time. At some point, you have to be ready to admit that Bitcoin has failed, and there's no shame in exiting from a failed investment.

Well, you are a rare case that I know as most people who know bitcoin are attracted by its volatility, myself included. I learned about bitcoin through highly profitable ponzi projects, and it wasn't until later that I discovered that bitcoin could be used for cross-border money transfers.

It depends on the level of experience and exposure of the person to the investment world. Someone like me can't commit my coin anymore in the hands of coin banks, staking and other investments of the kind, I would rather trade or invest it. But for those who are comfortable or do not have prior knowledge about the subject matter, they might wisely start with a safe investment, but nothing is riskless, they have to be careful of the kind of investment they commit their money to. Bull market is one important reason why development in the industry advance as project make so much money during this time that they can hire developers and pay them very well to work on their projects to improve it and adopt other technologies. Eventually BTC will have to start acting like all other investments with price action being news-driven. Some demand from speculators wanting to capitalise on bull-run predictivity could get replaced i.e. by demand from spot ETFs (if approved). In the long run it all could work well for Bitcoin.

I know that feeling very well, but taking emotions aside, beating yourself over not taking advantage of an opportunity is silly. why should i leave when that happens? i am ready for all possibilities, even when all countries in the world prohibit the use of bitcoin, i am also ready. there is no reason for me to back down when bitcoin experiences obstacles in its development.

i mean if someone pulls back when there is no bull run or the price is declining, it means they are investing only to make a profit. there's nothing wrong with that, it's normal in investing, but i'm not that kind of person. i bought bitcoin because i knew how much potential it had in the future and my interest in the various features offered by bitcoin, such as decentralization, community, etc., was what made me stay and continue investing in this asset.

Agree on what you had said on which progress and innovation isnt something that could be avoided or something that inevitable when it comes to progress and advancement on which we are really not going backward in time but rather it would really be going forward. indeed the future still have many opportunities for AI until real use case that can be utilised by the general masses released from those AI crypto companies then we won't see any significant change towards the market themselves and neither we will see any impact from the AI toward the market.

What people mean by saying "not surviving" is not necessarily that they will disappear completely, but that their price will drop massively and will not recover. And when there's no demand, the centralised exchanges start delisting low-volume coins, and that's when an altcoin is considered to be dead.
But most tokens nowadays are created on networks like ETH, so they'll remain functional even if the projects are dead.
