Longer down time would've caused panic. The forum wasn't accessible for a few minutes so it wouldn't have been noticed by ppl. Most users wouldn't be online so early on Sunday morning so it's impact should've been small.

Yes, I noticed it but I don't think it lasted more than five minutes. It's something many users would've missed without thinking twice anything went wrong. I noticed it because I was trying to do something online at the time. Nonetheless, I think we've been having this issue of forum being down more repeatedly this day. I hope something odd isn't brewing somewhere.

Afaik, forum has some kind of random maintenance every month since the issue of the imgur images started because I remember experiencing same issue like this before and I verify it on my co-local forum via social media. The downtime is only few minutes compared before that’s why it’s ot noticeable already unless you are constructing a post or browsing the forum when the maintenance occurs.

The forum getting down looks like a regular activity for me. It is not just one of situation that we all have encountered. This year there has been more than three times that the forum went offline. @theymos doesn't reply to such post nor will he keep other social media active. I was the first, asking him to keep the Twitter account active. To which his reply was not what I expected. There should be another way to contact those who are active on this platform in case of such issues. If not then we need to ask him to again get active or hire someone close or active forum members to do this job. This is not the first time I have asked, I canonly try unless the admin decides to ignore my request. Which I am assuming he would, staying updated in such situation can be gathered by anyone in local telegram group or discord group.

Is it that we're going to be experiencing different types of issues on this Forum every 2-3 months? We need a solution to all these problems, it should be sorted out.
Hope this is just a technical problem and if it is then it need to be fixed immediately because it might cause some panic that's if it hasn't already.
Let this be the last scare for this year please... Big boss should look into this crazy glitch.

What time did this happen?
On September 3rd, there was also a period of 5 minutes down on TalkImg.

Maybe you are just overthinking it, overthinking create problems that are not there.

 It is more of the time technical related issues which is common not an attack of any kind.

I'm not over thinking - but the question is worth it considering there have been hacking incidents in the past that have befallen bitcointalk. It's true that we don't need to worry - but questions like this are asked because bitcointalk has often been down because some of the reason so far.

It can be worrisome, but try not to be too worried.

Maybe the first time of me not noticing any downtime or glitches in access bitcointalk forum. This can rightly explain how busy I am these days. In all, I applaud theymo and maybe cyrus or any other admin that works with theymos. It is not easy to have this site running from year to year without going down. I am a witness to so many sites that goes down more often than they operate.
What I will also love to see is that after such downtime, theymos should be able to address the forum and tell us the possible cause of the incident. Maybe it is not necessary.

For few hours now I have not visited here so i can't say i witnessed it because i wasn't active being that today was my service day and it was dedicated to it, but however, i know it's not something much so is natural for us to always have an update at least for the system to be in a good working mode than before maybe when next it appears like this we don't need to panic over it rather just give it sometimes to properly function back, and i know this time it would be very fast and effective.

Didn't get any message like above ,but CloudFlare did show that server went offline on Bitcointalks side in the morning which gave me an idea 💡 that we were experiencing some downtime, hope no DDoS stuff..

If the forum is down for hours there might be a reason for a thread, but only a few minutes doesn't really seem like a big deal. The admins will fix the issue either way if/when they can, so really not a reason for a thread IMO. If something out of the ordinary is happening, i'm sure they'll inform us.

I did not even noticed it. But that is for the headsup.
It may be just me, but this year there have been several occasions I have seen people reporting the forum to be down or inaccessible for some reason. I have personally downplayed as maintenance time or so, since they have not even more than some mins (less than an hour). So nothing to panic over, I guess ?.

Every post I have sent for about three hours goes to cloud flare. Then posts time out.  If I open another window the post did take.

This issue comes and goes for over a decade. I suspect it may be general internet issue today due to the Israel 🇮🇱 Vs Palestine 🇵🇸 that fired up yesterday.

Once again the bitcointalk was down today and this outage was for a long time. I do not know exactly but when I tried to reach bitcointalk it did not open and then I tried after half an hour it still failed to load.
Just checked now and we are back up again.

I hope there was nothing to worry about

There's no how you wouldn't have been on the forum over some months now but see this happening, why you may nit experienced such is when you're probably not online to see this happening, but for those that have been active and regular being online on the forum, they would have had several encounters on this and it means no harm than the normal upgrade sometimes, you also have to take note of these that onces it's something that has to do with the forum, anyone being online as at that time will have to experience the forum inaccessible for that period, though it may not last.

There's nothing to panic about, i can remember the last one that happened, Theymos address it and talked that it wasn't as a result of any upgrade from his end.

Don't panic, expect network glitches atimes aside the normal upgrades on the forum softwares.

The downtime today lasted for about 100 minutes. This can be easily tracked:
The last post was at 06:04:45 AM and the following and therefore first post after the downtime was written at 07:45:29 AM ~ around 100min later.

Somehow there seems to be a pattern in the downtimes as they have mostly taken place at the same time recently.
theymos has already made this point and cannot explain it at the moment. He probably assumes there is "some automated maintenance process". See quote:

Yes Bitcointalk was down again but it long last about an hour and fee minutes but now we can still access and it back to normal but as theymos said in quoted above we don't need to worry about cause theymos will do his best to fix this is downtime. Anyways hoping that  it will not happen again this time. Cause As I observe comparing  lastime and now is the longer one cause last time it takes a few minutes but now More than an hour.
