LocalBitcoins and Paxful are both entirely centralized and both demand full KYC. LocalCryptos has shutdown.

If OP doesn't trust exchanges, then he isn't going to want to use a fake peer to peer site like LBC or Paxful which will still collect his data and invade his privacy. A better option would be pick a site from https://kycnot.me/?type=exchange such as Bisq or AgoraDesk and use that to find a reputable local trader.

You're right and I appreciate your clarification. Thank you for providing a more privacy-focused solution.

LocalBitcoins has already halted it's services globally. I am not sure why are we discussing about them. The same is applicable for LocalCryptos. Paxful did discontinue their services due to internal issues of the team. Later on they again started it, which is why they cannot be trusted. At the moment the best option is Agoradesk. Bisq has issues with fiat liquidity, depends on the location OP is situated.

I have zero clue as to why OP opted for Bitcoin wherein the whole purpose was to get local fiat. This topic shows how people like OP get influenced by others about Bitcoin for short term gain and then they come to the forum for solutions.

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

None of this makes sense. Either you're trying to scam someone, or you're terribly naive and someone is scamming you. Nobody has to sell their house for Bitcoin, that only happens if someone is very much into Bitcoin and knows exactly what he's doing

If you don't trust exchanges well Binance is the most trusted on my list, so there is nothing to be scared of using this exchange.
Apart from the fact they actively scam their users: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5370726.0
Or apart from the fact they will hand your data over to various governments: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5395887.0
Or apart from the fact they have terrible security and your data will be hacked: https://decrypt.co/4629/darknet-hacker-provides-evidence-binance-hack-kyc-fake
Or apart from the fact their proof of reserves was a complete sham: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5427919.msg61440742#msg61440742
Or apart from the fact they were caught running a fractional reserve: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5441480.msg62531977#msg62531977
Or when all their top execs quit, they had to fire 1000+ employees, and were banned from several countries?

Naive I guess you mean. I also thought that maybe it's bad wording, since he doesn't seem to be very fluent in English.

I have interpreted that he has been paid in Bitcoin for some work he has done, and that he needs that money to pay his mortgage, but if he doesn't make it clear, who knows.

No KYC exchanges are for you if you don't want KYC.

Right.

Bisq is good, Paxful isn't no KYC, while Bitquick seems sketchy because I can't read their terms, only a blank white page.

Yup, Bisqa and Paxful are good both support cryptocurrencies, Bisqa needs no KYC while in the case of Paxful, you may be wrong or maybe I but Paxful needs KYC, Paxful support 350 payment methods and both exchange required charges from both maker and from the taker.
While the Bitquick terms page is a white blank I suggest this on some other functions It only supports BTC and the payment method is cash Also it doesn't charges a fee for the transaction, They did not give any terms but for security purpose, they want customer details and also it is very easy in use.

I just provide information about it if you or anybody wants to use it then do your own research on it before using it.

I had to get paid for my house in bitcoins. Now I have found a person who will change my USDC into my currency in cash. Now I have to change bitcoins to USDC. I don't trust exchanges so I would like to exchange bitcoins with a local trader. Please advise the platforms where I can personally talk with the trader and discuss the terms of the transaction. Thank you

These days, it would be hard to find a means to exchange BTC directly with a trader, because exchanges have perfected the P2P system to ease this burden of making direct contact with a trader and gaining their trust before doing the exchange/trade.
The best option would be to use a non KYC exchange, but seeing you wouldn't want to lose your funds because of the trust issues you have clearly spelt out here, meeting an already established broker or crypto trader to enlighten you on the best approach is the best advice I can offer.
Also, it is better to use a KYC exchange service where you are in charge of securing your coins and can swap between your local currency and any cryptocurrency on the market or offered by the exchange. All you might require is just a network fee or transaction charge and it might not be too significant as compared to direct exchange with a merchant or through a bank.

I don't know what country you are from and whether bitcoin is legal in your country or what laws are in place for bitcoin in your country.  So if you don't trust the exchanger and find a local one it will be very difficult for you.  And it is impossible for us to say how you can find such a person in your area. So in this case you'd be better off using an exchanger.  There are many more trusted and exchange in the market like Binance, Coinbase you can use them and use their p2p service.

Why do you need to talk to anybody before selling your bitcoin to fiat? You can do this on a binance exchange, they will pair you with someone who will pay you with the exact currency you are spending in your country.
Why, you ask? Security will be one of the major reasons; another thing is trust, followed by the right way to do it. With the things happening currently in the crypto space, I don't blame anyone who is seeking direction on the way to do things right in order not to fall victim to some sort of scam or fund seizure. It's better to seek direction most times than to make a mistake and seek aid. Selling a house requires a huge amount of money, which is enough to make some seek the best way to exchange that.

Quote
If you don't trust exchanges well Binance is the most trusted on my list, so there is nothing to be scared of using this exchange.
Binance might appear to be the best based on individual ratings, but it won't be the best for all, as all of us use different criteria to make our own ratings, and to be clear, I don't see Binance as something that's completely safe, as nothing on the internet is completely safe; it's just a matter of time; they are hackable, etc.

Even the highly recommended DEX has proven to be safe and transparent, but that does not make them completely safe; they can still be hacked and penetrated. The only difference, and what usually makes the DEX better, is that your data won't be leaked to others when hackers access the database, and your funds won't be stolen as they are not storing them for you in the first place.

This is a wrong link and doesn't lead to bisq, it is recommended that you check and make sure a link is correct before posting it, so that newbies are not redirected to scam sites; this is the correct link that leads to bisq: https://bisq.network/
There are many more trusted and exchange in the market like Binance, Coinbase you can use them and use their p2p service.
It has been repeated so many times that p2p in centralized exchanges isn't true p2p, it is peer to cex, then cex to the other peer. If you want to recommend p2p exchanges to op, you have a lot of options: Bisq, Agoradesk, Peach Bitcoin, etc

An intriguing move indeed. You're handling a substantial amount of Bitcoin here, as you're discussing an asset equivalent to the value of a house. I would expect that when parties engage in such sizable Bitcoin transactions, they should both possess a comprehensive understanding of how Bitcoin operates, from the basics of storing it securely to executing safe sales.

Currently, utilizing a cryptocurrency exchange seems to be the most appropriate choice. If you choose not to go that route and rely solely on the reputation of your new account here, you may find yourself unable to proceed further. Should you wish to engage in peer-to-peer transactions with others on platforms like marketplace or this forum, it appears that those transacting with you should exercise an abundance of caution.

Binance supporting a P2P trades if you don't want to use the exchange itself for your payment also if you really want to use a actual person who make a trade you must need to consider if the person you are taking with is legit, trusted and reliable and also makes a meet up with the secured place to make sure the transactions becomes smooth and doesn't have an issue with the transfer of funds.
Or else you will use a decentralized platform to make you feel it's safe.

Maybe you can try out some decentralized exchages from these recommendations am going to provide with you and choose your preferred one.

decentralized exchange
https://bisq.network/
https://localcryptos.com/
https://hodlhodl.com/

If you also want to make use of local p2p without involving an exchange, you can use some of trusted services from reputed members to exchange your currency, but make sure you have enough evidence to ascertain their trust in other not to steal your asset away or adjust the market price.

Localcryptos and hodlhodl aren't decentralized exchanges, only Bisq is the decentralized exchange.

Localcryptos weren't operated anymore, try to click your link. While holdhold they're now asking KYC, so this platform should be avoided.

Identification and Verification
If we are obliged to do so by the law or in accordance with our internal policy, we may at any time introduce or amend mandatory identification / verification procedures and require you to complete our identification and/or verification and may also require you to submit identification documents to Hodlex Ltd. Failing to complete identification and/or verification will be considered a violation of the Agreement and may lead to the suspension and/or termination of your account.

If the @OP want to trade with user in this forum, he just need to go first if he trade with trusted user, for big amount of money he can choose to use escrow service.

I don't see why you don't trust the exchange when you sell your BTC. P2P trading from any exchange is much safer and better than third party trading. You can do P2P transactions very easily. First, you can directly sell your btc by depositing your btc with an account in binance or any other exchange (make sure that exchange has P2P p system) or you can convert btc to usd or any other currency easily through P2P to your btc local currency. And if there is a buyer you know and you feel safe to sell your btc to him then you can sell your btc to him.

No, other than all that, totally safe. Roll Eyes
Damm, only if most newbies know this they would totally avoid Binance. But then we can't be sure of other centralized exchange alternatives. They are all the same , it is only that Binance is the most popular and the one that has got the most attention of people focused on it. Decentralized exchanges is better but people are too lazy to use it or maybe they are willing to take the risk with Binance.
