Messi did it again . He scored an hattrick and now he is the top WC goal scorer of all time . Argentina won by 3-0. Messi scored first goal in the 17th minute , 2nd in the 60th and 3rd in the 76th. Overall Algeria kept 52% possession 102.9 km distance covered. 0.30xG , 0 big chances created and total of 7 shots. On the other hand Argentina covered 87.2 km distance, 1.47xG , 1 big chance created and scored by Messi and a total of 10 shots. Argentina committed  13 fouls and 27 tackles. Lionel Messi was named as player of the match for his incredible performance . Argentina is now top of the table with 3 points and GD.

Messi is an incredible player, despite his age he have a good physic, stamina and good speed. He deserve this hattrick and deserve to become the best goal scorer of the world cup of all time. I only add my consideration that the goalkeeper is not a real good player, he was the third goalkeeper of Real Madrid some years ago but he has commit some errors.

The Argentina game was very entertaining and I must say that Lionel Messi was all over the pitch and deserved the goals he scored. Despite the controversy surrounding his tack on the Algerian player, he performed real good. France too played good football as Kylian Mbappe gave fans what they payed for. Unlike today, I just finished watching Portugal's game and lost the interest in watching anymore game today. The disappointment and boring nature of the game was so unbearable. The Congolese coach's 5-3-2 formation killed the game, the defence was water tight and Portugal couldn't register more goals until Wissa shared the points with his header.

Christiano Ronaldo couldn't impress his fans today just like other star players have tried to impress their fans already. Perhaps, his first goal would be against Uzbekistan of which they must have to win the game to stand a chance. Bruno Fernandez was not impressed with the connection, he couldn't play his full game because Ronaldo wasn't flexible enough to react swiftly. Certainly, age is setting in on his side.

After the Dutch failure against Japan, here we go with a big blow up with the Belgian national team. They were lucky to save a point from Egypt which was very disappointing. And the champ of epic failure is by far the Spanish team with their goalless draw against a barely known small nation or let's say against their goalkeeper.
Seeing these results, I am starting to worry about the French national football team because I consider it as a top tier European team..

I really don't want to speak ill of any team at the moment, though a whole lot of the big teams that were considered to be favourites to win their opening games did flop, the likes of Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Czech, but I would like to give them the benefit of doubt based on the fact that sometimes opening matches could be very hectic but as time goes on the teams start to progress all the way as the competition proceeds from the group stages to the knockout stages.

You are right. The starting game of any team might be tricky just like the opening rounds in each league, you might see top teams dropping points against teams almost relegation in the season before.
There is the famous option of Argentina in the group stage against Saudi Arabia and how they ended winning World Cup in Qatar in 2022.
Nevertheless, this trend of so many upsetting results is weird. I can understand a failure of a team, two, maybe three but here we count the opposite, it is like how many team won while being the favourite one before the match.

You are too bold to include the Czech Republic among the favorites  (at least compared to those you listed before them). Today I was choosing which bets to place. I decided to check the Czech Republic team's roster and see which clubs the players play for. You know, even against South Africa, I only decided to bet on the Czech Republic Double Chance. They don't have the kind of squad to be considered clear favorites against anyone. I'm glad they're winning 1-0 now, and I hope they're strong enough not to lose
