I don't like installing new software: one way or another, it increases the risks more than using what I have already. And I only use it for dust, that's all I need on mobile.
Sure, but using old outdated crap wallet is more risky, and Cake can also be installed on computer. Monero have dynamic fee algorithm, it's not fixed, but it's usually few cents per transaction, I tried cake and it is not as good as coinomi.
That coinimi crap is literally not working, but you can do whatever you like. I think you are too harsh in your opinion about coinomi dkbit98 . And you never used it.
What the heck are you talking about and why do you need to lie about this?! I used coinomi, and that is why I can say it's big crap, after comparing it with other wallets. With all due respect I stopped listening to your questionable wallet recommendations long time ago.

Coinomi is working since 2014 and have a solid reputation. I take it you haven't read this topic. I don't like installing new software: one way or another, it increases the risks more than using what I have already. And I only use it for dust, that's all I need on mobile. Sure, but using old outdated crap wallet is more risky, and Cake can also be installed on computer. Any risk that comes with Coinomi, is on my device already. If I ever choose to switch, it would be when I get a new phone. I don't need Cake wallet on my desktop, I have everything I need there already. I tried Unstoppable for a while on mobile, but it didn't work as well as Coinomi so I got rid of it again. That coinimi crap is literally not working, but you can do whatever you like. It works fine for other altcoins, just not Monero.

Coinomi is working since 2014 and have a solid reputation. I take it you haven't read this topic. You know this about other wallet right? The desktop version This is just an accusation. And the only one out there (ledger trezor etc have way more acusations) I dont think the user lost funds for this reason. Much more likely his own fault. he probably was careless (a person who put a life saving in his mobile wallet cant be trusted about security practices imo). I don't like installing new software: one way or another, it increases the risks more than using what I have already. And I only use it for dust, that's all I need on mobile. Just being open source doesnt mean the source code and the app are good. Just mean that anyone can see it.

Just did an XMR test after seeing this. Seems to work for me too. Just had some dust from feather wallet moved it in & out and around with no issues.

The desktop version of Coinomi seemed so promising, but nowadays it seems abandoned. It's a shame Coinomi still hasn't open-sourced its code, they said they would, right? Anyway, I'm still unable to transfer my XMR from Coinomi. I don't know if I transferred just dust balance, they fee system is really messed up, I can't understand it. When i try with a lower fee, my transaction isn't completed. I'll try again in a few days.

I just found out that Coinomi doesn't support RBF. I think RBF is an essential and indispensable feature, they should look into this, because I like Coinomi. How is the support and development of this wallet going? It would be great to bring RBF.

How is the support and development of this wallet going? It would be great to bring RBF. The project is active, and there are new updates coming from time to time. Unfortunately, they are more focused in their rewards system now which isnt good. With daily tasks. Last update 8 April https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.coinomi.wallet

This means that there are better wallets for Bitcoin (with RBF support and fully opensource), but for altcoins it might be an interesting option, since it supports many coins. However, I rarely use altcoins, only Bitcoin. Coinomi needs to fulfill its promise to return to being open source, something they've promised since announcing their return. What to Expect Next In the first stage of our relaunch, we’re focusing on key updates that will lay the foundation for what’s to come:
Open Source for Transparency and Ecosystem Growth: We’re returning to open-source development, prioritizing transparency and aiming to benefit the entire crypto ecosystem. This aligns with our original mission and ensures that Coinomi continues to contribute positively to the broader crypto community.

Coinomi certainly isnt the best bitcoin wallet. But it is a good option (sign messages, utxo control, legacy segwit and p2sh support, etc) I have searched a lot and there isnt a better multicurrency wallet for android. Coinomi is the best imo. It supports basically everything, including monero. As I dont hold much funds there, the security is enough for a mobile wallet.

Coinomi made an update: it no longer shows exchange rates on their main screen, and I can't find how to turn that back on in Settings. I mainly used Coinomi to get a quick look at the exchange rates of a few coins, so this is a real bummer.

Since there's no open-source repo, I've asked their " 24/7 support" about this and the AI agent isn't usefull ( as always), I got past it and currently waiting for their human agent's answers. And hopefully request for its reimplementation. From what I see, the same 'exchange rate under the coin name' in the " Add Coins" option is still there. But they've gone overboard on cleaning its overview tab's UI. -update-As expected, non-technical support just misunderstood it as an issue where it's not showing only on my end. At least, it sounds like its forwarded to their technical team so they're now aware of its use-case: Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we apologize for the inconvenience. We understand that the market prices for BTC, LTC, DOGE, ETH, and other coins are not displaying properly in your wallet.
We will have our backend team investigate this issue and check what needs to be fixed. Kindly allow us 24–48 hours for our team to look into it and work toward a resolution.
In the meantime, there's no need for you to take any further action on your end.
Thank you for your patience.

As the wallet is not fully open-source I suppose it would be a risk to download it. If they are transparent then it will give people the confidence to download it and maybe to even use it as their primary wallet. At the end of the day, if there is even the slightest concern about security then downloading any software should be avoided as it could be capable of compromising your entire system not only the crypto funds. Do people even know what private data (in addition to the crypto balance) from their device is being sent back to Coinomi servers? This means that there are better wallets for Bitcoin (with RBF support and fully opensource), but for altcoins it might be an interesting option, since it supports many coins. Do people even know what private data (in addition to the crypto balance) from their device is being sent back to Coinomi servers? I'm pretty sure Coinomi knows a lot less about me than Google And they'll also know my balance is only tiny, as it should be on a mobile hot wallet.

I don't even think I've updated Coinomi in the past few days, but I'm happy Mine as well, didn't have to upgrade so it must have been an issue in their backend. Seems like they've listened to my request above ( pretty good customer support past their AI agent) or just a lucky coincidence.

It cannot be denied, Google and other tech giants have collated massive amounts of data on billions of people around the world. Mobile phones using Android is probably a big concern but they have many accessible websites to collate customer preferences and browsing history from. As for Coinomi, once installed they probably know more than the average person believes. For those that are using Coinomi, it is definitely prudent to keep nothing more than a small amount of crypto as a balance. Why am I not surprised you took that precaution? I'm pretty sure Coinomi knows a lot less about me than Google And they'll also know my balance is only tiny, as it should be on a mobile hot wallet.

As for Coinomi, once installed they probably know more than the average person believes. That's one of the reasons I don't like installing new apps. I've had this one for years, whatever damage there is to do, was done already. So I can just as well keep using it The balance on the hot wallet on your phone should be worth less then the phone. I don't really see the relevance. I prefer both to be low. If I could, I'd have a phone worth nothing My current phone is almost 6 years old, if it lasts long enough, it'll get there. But that doesn't mean an empty wallet has any use.

You can use a hot wallet for daily use. For example, I made a travel but I needed to make a bitcoin payment related to this. I shouldn't carry my hardware wallet and all my life savings to the trip. I just put $50 in my coinomi wallet and made the payment. Actually, my coinomi was the first wallet I ever created in 2017 and it still stands after all this recent hacking drama .... But I never hold too much money there.
