I hope so.

But I still want them to filter out everything. Some developers may try some shitty games or applications that could lead to users being scammed so if they want to upgrade the permission to this level might as well increase their security too. Because there are so many applications out there one could become a money-making app without any return on investment and this type of problem might ruin their reputation too. If not, then put a warning that it will not be up to them if something goes wrong.
An addition to their feature doesn't always mean a good thing, this will also mean more work for them as they enhance the protection of each user. Sure, it's nice to follow the trend but this will be about spending money so it could be messy if not done right.
If they cannot filter scam wallets or applications that steal user data, how will they filter games that require personal experience to judge whether they are fraudulent or not? On the contrary, it is good for them because when you are defrauded, you cannot ask Google to return the money or any policy to protect your assets.

The level of advertisements is deteriorating suspiciously, and I would not be surprised if you find fraudulent advertisements.

What do you mean google is a spyware? This is such a huge accusation for google, in fact you could win a million dollars if you prove that they are a spyware. I think you've been pretty fed up with the ads that you are having while gaming on phone, or getting random emails but that doesn't mean that they are spying on us, it only means that you didn't read all the terms and put a check on every boxes they provided without reading  Grin I don't think they are spyware, they are just opportunist.
You must read this https://spyware.neocities.org/articles/chrome

It's really wrong if you assume a huge centralized project is safe and secure to use, they're selling your data to other project or they use your data to manipulate you. Let's say you're searching about a good shoes for work in Google Chrome, but when you open your Instagram account, you will see a shoes ads when you're not even search about it!

What make it worse if they promote their products, so they're use your data and sell their product.

It seems to me that Google is starting to be slowly enlightened about the Web3 blockchain games. I would really welcome this move but they should be more selective in terms of approving those Web3 games to be listed in the Google Play Store.

Hopefully Steam would do the same too as I know that they also ban Web3 blockchain games from their system.

It’s all about changing the narrative where these games are supposed to be mainly for fun and entertainment and not for earning purposes to make a living. But the advantage however is that we can earn tokens as bonus perks and can flip NFTs in the open marketplace.

Pretty unlikely Steam will backpedal in the decision to ban web3 or nft based games (Microsoft also did something similar with Minecraft by the way). There are two main reasons why Steam won't do such a thing:

1. They do not need to do so in order to keep the market share and also keep earning money from their online store.

2. They already have a huge ecosystem with their own collectibles (specially when we talk about Counter Strike skins), they do not need nor want to have competence within their own store.

Epic games is more likely to open to those decentralized games, once stigma on Nfts calms down and slowly disappears, when people do not see it as a way to launder money or profit by playing.

these are all valid points, steam quite literally just trying to kill themselves by allowing NFT games so therefore they won't undo their decision of banning these games in general.
I mean they are making good profits from those DLC and skins sales how can they decide, nah I want to sacrifice this profit to embrace NFT definitely bad decision ever.
these companies are all about making money, people should just focused on creating their own platform for NFT and blockchain games because these companies won't ever agree to P2E economic model which
could reduce their profits.

Well yeah, NFT games are available on Google Play that started a couple of years ago and I even played few of them like MIR4, Thetan Arena and more. NFT games for me is much more attractive than those casino ones. The only thing that Goole Play is lacking is the ability to detect or ban a scam app most especially earning apps.

Google Play has updated its store policy to allow for new ways to transact blockchain-based digital content within apps and games. The move comes as a response to the growing interest in non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and other tokenized digital assets, which offer unique and engaging experiences for users.

Updates to Cryptocurrencies and related products policy (August 2023)

Google provides translated versions of our Help Center, though they are not meant to change the content of our policies. The English version is the official language we use to enforce our policies. To view this article in a different language, use the language dropdown at the bottom of the page.

In September 2023, Google will update the Cryptocurrencies and related products policy to clarify the scope and requirements for the advertisement of blockchain- based games involving NFTs.
Beginning September 15, 2023, advertisers offering FT games that do not promote gambling-related content may advertise those products and services when they meet the following requirements and are certified by Google.

Promotion of blockchain-based games involving NFTs.

Examples: NFT games that allow players to purchase in-game items, like virtual apparel for a player's characters, weaponry, or armor with better stats, consumed or used in a game to enhance a user's experience or aid users in advancing the game.

For NFT games, the following are not allowed:

* Promotion of games where players can wager or stake NFTs in exchange for the opportunity to win anything of real-world value (including other NFTs).
Examples (non-exhaustive): Games that allow players to stake NFTs in exchange for fungible tokens such as cryptocurrencies.

* Promotion of social casino games that reward NFT.

* Examples (non-exhaustive): Simulated casino gambling (for example, poker, slots or roulette) that offer the opportunity to win NFTs.
( Promotion of "real money gambling" destinations. This includes gambling-related advertisements that appear on your game's destination.

Do you believe that this update from Google Play will drive the adoption of NFTs in mobile games?

Friendly, OceanFriends!

Okay, can someone list crypto games that are on googleplay now?

Just google it mate!

It is clear that they do not have a problem with NFTs, but rather with gambling, so the policy included many provisions related to clarifying this publicly, but I see that NFTs were a wave and will turn into a natural event like ICOs. It is true that they will continue with us, but they will not be with the same hype that occurred in the past, so I hope we don't see annoying ads.

I am not an expert in such things, but I wonder if these games are famous and what are the most famous ones, or if they are part of games that already exist.

A tech giant's step into the crypto world is a good thing, and the fact that it's developing that opportunity is definitely a good sign. But we should be aware of their motto; that's, of course, profit-making. This move is a shift from Google's previous stance, which banned all crypto currency-related advertising. After this approval, now Google, Apple, Tesla, and Microsoft can easily hold Bitcoin. And there are influencers who played Google games, so we can know how legitimate they are. Imagine playing games and earning crypto rewards; it's a gaming revolution. This isn't just about ads; it's a Google nod to the future of Web 3. It's a step closer to a world where block chains and crypto become part of our everyday lives.

What that even leaves us?
Every game that awards nfts for winning something (like gods unchained) could be categorized as a social casino. As long as those nfts have value, they are going to attack them, as they are not novelties, but could be worth lots of money. For a Google play that could be a legal nightmare, or they are afraid that they will be persecuted for money being a laundering platform etc.
