One of the last big purchases I made using Bitcoin was an iPad. I think I paid 1.25 BTC for it. Looking back, that wasn’t my best purchase and I don’t even use it anymore. So I can attest that if you have some BTC, it isn’t always the best idea to dump it for a new shiny thing, although I’m about to make the same mistake with a Tesla.

The other side of the coin is this......

Imagine something really bad happened and you hoarded all your coins and this event caused the Crypto currency prices to collapse? You will then look back to the things that you could have bought with those coins and you would have had the same regrets.

I sold some of my coins to pay for my debt.... and I never looked back at what those coins are valued today. (may be once or twice  )

The fact of the matter is this.... everyone should sell some coins and enjoy the reward of hoarding it for years... then do something constructive with that. Go on a nice holiday to an exotic location ....because those memories last forever.... or pay your debt and save on all the interest you would have had to pay in the future.

Enjoy your coins.... and always save some coins for the big Moon day!

Selling Bitcoin to pay off debt is acceptable and in some cases is a good choice.

We dont need these new devices, we are led to believe that we do need them and so
many people fall for that.

I consider myself not in the center of the consumerism wave affecting many people who seem to be attracted with something new and showing to the whole world that they can afford the latest and the best even if it means emptying their pockets and or using credit cards to afford the latest devices and gadgets. I am not into iPhone and my smartphone just cost a little more than $100. Now, as to people who prefer to part with their hard-earned money investing with Apple products no matter how expensive they are, it is time to think thrice into the future. Investing into BTC is always the right choice.

I don't do this often but if my post can save a soul from making the wrong decision, it would be worth the effort. We're in September which is the period which Apple flood the market with their new toys and people make the mistakes of throwing away money every year on these items. Why would anyone buy something that'll be devalued in about 12 months time because around this time next year Apple will be releasing a new set of devices and an upgrade of what will be released this year. Instead of buying those devices now, you can use that money for something more reasonable by investing that money in Bitcoin. The price of Bitcoin is low currently which is another reason to make use of this opportunity to invest in Bitcoin.

Those that bought bitcoin and ignored the latest iphone during the period those previous model above (in the image) were launched have made a better financial decision and anybody thinking of getting the new iphone when you already have a perfectly working phone should rethink that decision and invest the money in buying Bitcoin. You'll be getting around BTC0.031 +/-  which will be worth more in the future than the amount you'll spend to buy it while that new Iphone will lose value in the next 12 months. if you really what to get something relating to apple then buy their stocks instead of the devices (that's another means of diversifying your portfolio, if you think you already have enough Bitcoin secured for the future).

Just imagine the profits that would have been if those that bought the new iphone during the release date of those model above bought bitcoin instead. Avoid making same mistakes and choose bitcoin.

I agree with the OP, I've tried the look at the features of the new Apple device and the previous one, I've seen that there is no much difference really.
So if you already have iPhone 14, I don't see the need in getting latest version of 15. Especially when the one you're using hasn't gone bad.
So it's at best you invest that money,, especially on bitcoin because there will be certainly  a return in investment after a while. But for the iPhone,  immediately you get that device, it will start to diminish in value as the months counts.

Imo Apple products are no longer the best price/performance gadgets and way to spend even free money. Lately, they barely surprise with something new, during start of sales gadgets price is way to high and gadgets lose price to quick (basically every year with release of new models). But, I think it isnt correct to make such comparisons if we talk about investing. Investing into buying Apple gadget on sales start with aim to resell them isnt profitable anymore, as there is no deficit of them anymore on the start.

Showing off with the latest iphone is what so many people are doing, and they forget that the money that they use to buy new iphones every year will give them a good number of satoshis. It is better to invest for the future, rather than buying liability for yourself. If you already have one, you don't need to get a new one the next year because there wouldn't be any big difference in it. Bitcoin will give you profit as the time passes on if you keep on holdi and investing. Imagine that you bought yourself the new iphone and it was a very busy day for you that you mistakenly fell the phone on the ground and the screen went blank or stolen. There are people who really like to show off or don't want to be left behind  but I don't say it is wrong. As long as you can afford it then it's good but if you are having a hard time buying it and you need to take out a loan on it then it shouldn't be worth getting. Also it is a liability and not an asset for you unless it is intended for something from which you'll earn a profit. It is better to invest it in something like Bitcoin. If ever I have an extra with that same amount I would prefer to invest it in crypto rather than buying a phone.

I am the kind of person who if my phone is still working and is still good even if the LCD is broken as long as it works I wouldn't buy a phone and if I did it would be cheap. We should be more focused on earning than spending because the price of everything is so high right now due to inflation.

But depending on each person's economic conditions, we have suitable choices for ourselves. Peer pressure is the reason why some people go ahead to buy these phones even when they do not need it. Some people are not even comfortable enough financially, but they struggle and make unnecessary sacrifices just so they can buy these phones and be proud that they are among the first set of people to use these phones. There is no prize for it. These kinds of gratifications are what distracts people with little financial discipline into not being able to hold money. Buy what you need, not the things you want. Now is the time to keep bitcoins, not use them unnecessarily.

While of course you are right and I 100% agree with your points, I do kind of understand why there are people who spend hundreds of dollars for new Apple "toys"/devices. There are people who need to have the latest gadgets for their jobs, I'm talking about social media personalities who use technology for content (I mean those YouTube channels that make reviews and reactions about the latest gadgets in town). There is also another set of social media personalities or "influencers" that need to be on top of the trend in order to attract more attention and be "relevant" for their target audience (mostly teenagers who love seeing others buying luxury stuff they themselves cannot afford). As a waste of money and ridiculous as it is in our eyes, it's what they do and it actually works for them in their field.

You have given the right advice. Investing in Bitcoin is definitely better than buying an iPhone. Suppose someone in 2012 instead of buying an iPhone 4S bought an equivalent amount of Bitcoin, he can now buy thousands of iPhones with 162 BTC. In 2012, the price of an iPhone was 162 BTC, now it costs only 0.031 BTC to buy an iPhone. So those who want to buy an iPhone these days, it would be better if they invest in Bitcoin. Because currently the price of Bitcoin is also low, it is a good time to invest, it is expected that the price of Bitcoin can reach 100k in 2025. Now instead of buying an iPhone, if you buy Bitcoin with the same amount of money, you can earn the profit of buying 4 iPhones in 2025.

Nothing but the best advice, this is something in the next 10-12month the apple company will launch a latest version of iPhone and the previous will lose much value compare to the value of what it has today.  Money is meant to be spent on things we need but their are somethings that is not worth spending money on just like that, expecially things that can lose value so fast. It is better to spend money on things like bitcoin that can add more value than to spend money on things with no value over time.

I'm not sure how much longer my 6S has for running anyway. So might make sense for me to upgrade during the next price supercycle.

It's literally a brand to buy just to flex with everyone since we all know that iPhone is pricey even in other countries. Clout chasing and the peer pressure you feel when there's a new release model of iPhone is actually normal but it would really depends on the person on how they could handle it. Cause if you think it's really unnecessary despite the fact you can afford to buy an iPhone since your phone still working, then that's good a practicality and there's some people would still buy one even for a loan and a monthly pay. Just invest tho or save cause when you gain more profits, you could just easily buy one with no hassle of budgeting.

I am good with my Google Pixel device. I never thought of owning an Apple device. Mine is outdated but if it works then it works. I will keep on using it until it is not usable anymore. I don't know why people are so eager to own an Apple smartphone and why this hype every time they launch a new product. It is good and maybe the best in the market, but when I can achieve the same performance from a cheap alternative, why go for Apple? It never makes sense to me so I don't know what it is.

Thanks for this post tho. We are very close to the next halving and most likely the next bull run. So, many people can invest in Bitcoin rather than buying the new cutting-edge technology device(LOL) from Apple. Think about the future people and enjoy the present too. Iphone is doing alot of upgrade these days. I could remember saying to someone earlier this year of how I would join the iphone trend once it gets to 16. It seems sooner than expected I can assure, because the upgrades are pointing toward that.
It sure makes sense to get a new iphone, if it's slightly higher in price than the old one, if it is a tool for making money in the hands of its owner like for trading, photo shoot on the instant, Bitcointalk campaigns, others. It would be a good investment.
 
Also taking advantage of opportunities like freebies and black Friday sales and other contest to win an iphone is worth a shot, rather than first time buying where ones income isn't much to afford data or personal maintenance. HoDLing or DCA investment strategies would do more good in the long run for this instance, by multiplying the returns upon end of selected duration, then one can afford such luxury cheaply.

We know that people are really that stubborn when it comes to tech and something which is really that on trend which including this Apple craze whenever there's a new model that would
pop out on which there would be people who would really be dying on owning one no matter what the cost. There are even people who do really end up on getting some  sugar daddies
just to acquire one and dont mind on what would really be that exchange of that.

Just like myself on which my mobile phone is aged 3 years old already and i dont have that kind of mindset that being active on replacing my unit which as long as it works
